Experience authentic curries alongside Latin, and European flavors complemented by a fine, local, heavy wine list. Cozy indoor seating or dine in our lovely heated & covered patio. Sunday brunch & regionally themed monthly Prix Fixe dinners. We have a beautiful garden for small weddings & special events. Additionally, dining with your pooch is available in our garden.
The outdoor feel of the dining room is special, the food very tasty, the service consistent and polite, and the wine very nice.
Relaxed atmosphere, original menu items and a warm, friendly staff create a most enjoyable dining experience.
There were 5 of us...enchilada with lobster, paella, mushroom/spinach lasagne, grilled pork chop and green chicken curry...all so different, all so good! Creamsicle for dessert...strawberry sorbet with vanilla ice cream! Great way to end dinner!
As always food was excellent and we appreciate the "organic" and "home-made" efforts. Especially delicious is the salmon bisque soup. Best of that type I've ever had.
Service was always there, but not over-bearing.
WE get to Cambria about two times a yr. and always make Robbins one of our eating venues. Would highly recommend to anyone.
Fine cuisine and attentive service, even on a busy summer Saturday night. We also try to dine at Robin's when in Cambria.
We'd been through Bay Area and Monterey traffic, pleased that we had a reservation in place in Cambria. What we found was much more than we'd anticipated. Great food (pizzettes on flatbread with Indian-inspired seasonings & grilled artichoke with great dipping sauces for starters; sea bass special, paella, and lasagna for main courses), all served with warmth and care. Our server recommended a local wine that went well with the fresh fish. Made us wish that we had more time on the central coast.
My wife and I really enjoyed our lunch at Robin's. The menu had great selections as we like to eat healthy food and the choices were excellent. We hope to return as this is a winner!
We decided to come back to Cambria just to eat at Robin's again. They have an awesome Thai curry dish that my wife raves about. It reminds us of our travels to Thailand. Myself, I love the lamb dish with it's earthy flavors that are satisfying to the last bite.
Robin's is always wonderful. This time
they featured Brynne Albanese of Café
Musique. They were outstanding, and
Robin's garden is the perfect venue.
A glorious experience---the food,
music and surroundings!!
Fresh food prepared daily, great wine flights! Friendly service. What more could you ask for.
My husband and I have been eating at Robin's for many years. We love their food. My husband is a vegetarian and they have lots of choices for him. They also have meat and fish too. I love the curries and the tandoor chicken dish. They have excellent desserts as well. I have never had a bad meal in all the years we have been going. The service is excellent too. Really nothing bad to say all positive. You won't be disappointed.
Robin's menu is the most eclectic, vibrant and creative you'll find anywhere. It is so difficult to choose because EVERYTHING sounds amazing and everything we've ever had here tastes incredible, as well!
Can't be beat for
Spainish Mourvedre (Monastell)
We enjoyed the food immensely! The paella is one of our favorites. Great wine and atmosphere.
We visit Cambria about once a year and always make a point of having dinner at Robin's. The menu has so many good dishes that it's hard to choose. And it's never been disappointing. It's popular and noisy, but the staff seems genuinely happy to be there and that makes for a wonderful dining experience. The slipper lobster enchiladas were excellent, as was the heirloom tomato salad. Their homemade desserts are always delicious.
Outstanding! Best dinner in the Paso Robles area and we had tried all the popular ones. I had the chicken breast and Robih salad. Husband had the salmon and French onion soup. All were delicious. The vanillla bread pudding was unbelievable with a layer of real old fashioned English custard that was smooth and light. They had an excellent selection of reasonably priced wines. The bread was warm and delicious. I loved the charming cottage. What a gem.
I thought the food was very good! The ambiance was just average, but all in all I enjoyed my meal and would go back.
We had a group of six and were seated promptly. We had purchased some local wine and before we had to ask our server brought us wine glasses and had them open and served! That is great service. We enjoyed the soup special of the day (French onion and mushroom soup which was very good, salads also fresh and tasty. A wide variety of entrees, flat iron steak, mushroom lasagna, chicken and lobster enchiladas. All were excellent. Finally ended with some great pudding. The atmosphere is casual on an enclosed garden patio, a very nice evening at Robin's
my wife and I loved this charming place which serves wonderful food and is managed by wonderful people... I really recommend it
We very much enjoyed the atmosphere, the service, and the food. The lobster enchiladas were wonderful. The mushroom and spinach lasagna, while we applaud the inclusion of a vegetarian dish on the menu, was so heavy with cheese that it felt sort of counter to the idea of a vegetarian dish. It tasted good, but was too rich in our opinion or for our taste. But all in all quite good and we'd recommend it. The curries looked good and we'll try those if we go back, but were just in Cambria one night.
This was the second time I've dined at Robin's. The waitress was awful. She came to our table after we had been sitting there for almost 10 minutes and started to take our drink order and said she was getting beeped she'd be back. After another 5 minutes she came back and was in a rush to get our entire order. We found her curt and rude throughout our dining experience.
We requested to sit outside. We were never told that there would be an extra $3 charge per person to sit in the garden. We read it on the tapas menu but it didn't state it in either the regular menu and it wasn't explained when I called.
In general food was very good with the exception of the polenta which was over salted and Madeline's salad which was soggy. I was disappointed with the fact that I specifically mentioned our 39th anniversary upon making reservations and no special dessert was even mentioned as recognition. Major slip -up. May return as a second or third choice on our next visit
Great find on our way up north...friendly service, nice wine list
and unexpected Indian in the Central coast...and were accommodating to the kids as well.
I had the Scottish Salmon which I would have again when I return. It was excellent. My wife had the Pad Thai with Tofu and said it was very flavorful and this would be her favorite dish at Robin's. I would highly recommend Robin's to anyone visiting Cambria.
Excellent food, way beyond our expectations....we chose Robin's because it was the site of the old Grey Fox Inn where we ate our honeymoon dinner 35 yrs ago. The ambience was similar to the past with it's bohemian aire, but Robin's has come a long way baby, just like the rest of us grown-up liberated ladies..... and she's a proud independent women who's been around the world and tasted it's exotic cuisines! Looking forward to coming back for future anniversaries! Thank-you!
During the meal, I saw that our Open Table reservations were cancelled by Robins. I asked our server to look into this for us, and he said the manager would come out and fix it. During the entire meal, he/she never came out.
I inquired about the issue - He simply told us to make another reservation for the next day, and they'll confirm it. I did as instructed, to help them out, only to have them report it to Open Table as a no-show.
After a few more fed up emails to Robins, they did what they should have done initially, which was to reverse the cancellation and honor the reservation. This was more trouble that it was worth for me.
Poor management, won't be going back.
Menu was broad enough to satisfy both the vegan and the meat-tarian. The steak was excellent, as was the mushroom lasagna.
I've been coming to this restaurant for some years now, off and on with sometimes years separating my visits. Robin's has been consistently good over the years and is my favorite Cambria restaurant.
When we told our server, Megan, that we were celebrating our anniversary that evening, she relayed it to the kitchen staff. Our dessert was plated onto a heart-shaped chocoate raspberry sauce, with two pretty candles. It was wonderful and so thoughtful.
what can I say, it looked like the kitchen had no pride in what they arranged on the plate. Food was good but not great. Soup of the day was delicious. Stay far away from the bread pudding. Bread on the bottom, covered with pudding. Unpleasant.
We especially love eating at Robin's when the garden is open. It's beautiful, live music often adds to the ambiance, the menu is wide-ranging and the food delicious and we can bring our dog.
The last time i ate at Robin's was 24 years ago . I remembered it as a wonderful and innovative restaurant. The nice woman even took me to her garden and showed me the herb she used in her pastry cream .
This summer i had the chance of stopping in Cambria after 2 decades hiatus.. I really wanted to eat at the same restaurant that i had visited 24 years ago but had forgotten its name. So i started asking around and a woman told me that Robin's was indeed the same as the one that i had eaten so many years ago. The food is still original and great. I was thrilled that i found my favorite restaurant again and had a feast.
Inside -- nice for quiet conversation with nice nook for two tucked to one side. Outer enclosed patio for larger groups was was very noisy (large 3-family group of over 12 seared nearby) --still good food with variety of offerings. Generous portion of mushroom/spinach lasagna was very rich and large enough to split -- 2 as a main or 4-ways as a savory side course. Nice crisp crusty calamari app. -- not oily! Lavender soda was refreshingly novel. $12 corkage was much appreciated.
Robin's is a great Cambria neighborhood gem. The people are very nice and they serve great food.
The menu is varied. We had Calamari, ok but not great.
Our entrees, flat iron steak & sea bass. Both were very tasty.
On the down side, the place is a bit pricey, $95 for dinner for 2 (entrees, appetizer & 2 beers, no dessert or coffee).
We've been visiting Cambria for over 30 years, and every visit includes dinner and lunch at Robin's. We have never been disappointed; it's our favorite in Cambria! The menu offers a broad spectrum of delightful and healthy choices, and the food is always beautifully prepared and interesting. Excellent, friendly service. Desserts are exceptional! Salmon bisque is a favorite
Enjoy dining on the covered patio.
Okay, Hemmingway I'm not. But if you're in the market for a GREAT little restaurant with an interesting menu, nice wine selection and exceptional service, then Robin's Restaurant is the place for you. I'd particularly recommend the Angus Beef Burger which was cooked and seasoned to perfection. Their dessert menu was terrific as well. My wife and I dined on the back patio along with our two pooches which was a huge bonus--no need to keep them cooped up in the car while we stuffed our faces. Can't wait to get back to Cambria.
We had attended the Pewter Plough Playhouse production, and I had made a reservation for 6:30, not knowing how long the Sunday matinee would be. We arrived nearly an hour early, but they seated us anyway. The place soon began to fill up -- everyone knows how good it is, I guess, but it was my first time there. It was perfect -- excellent service, great food, nice surroundings. I will definitely go there again as often as possible.
The only way to have a start (or full course) at Robin's is the Salmon Bisque...in an over used word, AWESOME!
Our server had been there for over a decade (must have started in grade school) and was extremely knowledgeable and helpful.
The only glitch was over desert. We ordered the chocolate flour-less cake and a Hot Fudge Sundae. The cake was outstanding, but the Sundae was covered in whipped cream with no hot fudge? Our server removed it from the bill without hesitation.
The wine list was quite complete with both high end hard to find selections and reasonable local selections...something for every taste and wallet.
I would not hesitate to recommend them or return!
Went to hear the live music and found a good little place with great food. Were not able to see the band, but could hear them. Nice wine list and good service.
