The experience was incredible from start to finish. The manager greeted us, provided us champagne to help us celebrate, and followed up with us by text. It was an unforgettable experience.
Everything was perfect
Fantastic service and everything we order came out perfect
Roberts a great place for a meal
The food was brilliant, the Wine list needs some work. The service was good, but could use some polishing. Overall, a great experience! We will be back, soon!
Great food, great service, great ambiance! Absolutely loved Roberts!
Arrived a few minutes after 11, was not seated until almost 11:30. Breakfast ends at 12 - very rushed
The hostess and wait staff were excellent during our visit. My wife and I were guests at the Omni and wanted to do something for dinner that was hassle free with good food to go along with it so we chose Roberts. Our food was good but slightly under seasoned. My short rib could have used more gravy and the mash potatoes weren’t seasoned at all. My wife had the rockfish which she really liked but could have also used more seasoning and touch more of the sauce it came with. I know this all sounds negative but we enjoyed our dining experience. Hopefully they can take the seasoning to the next level and the food would be an easy 5 rating in the future.
Excellent food and service and a great place to take the one you love.
I really love this place since it's upscale and everything is just fancy. Service is good, food is creative and atmosphere is very lovely. My favorite server named Carlos. Great for date!!
Staff was very nice, hotel is gorgeous, but the the restaurant left a lot to be desired. Food was expensive for a small portion and really wasn’t very good.
Robert's is situated in one of the most beautiful rooms in the city, which makes it a must to try f only for the venue. The food I'd quire good, too!
Robert's Restaurant is the perfect location for a business breakfast, lunch, dinner or coffee. Unhurried and a room complimented by soft music - the atmosphere is excellent.
Service was indifferent- had to wave down the waiter several times and the place was half empty. Food was mediocre or worse. Wife sent her food back and the rest of us found it very low quality. I did t my nd paying up for good food and service but we got neither.
The restaurant staff is attentive, and never rushes you. This is one of the few remaining truly adult locations in the city where you can discuss business, or catch up with a friend in an elegant atmosphere supported by lovely background music that is correctly matched to the venue. The mistake most locations in DC make is mixing loud overpowering modern music with a venue that they say welcomes mature adult business discussions and quiet dining - not so. Robert's Restaurant at the Omni is a unique venue and experience - and the keeper of the flame for quiet welcoming hospitality done well. When one looks at the W or the Willard their updating results can best be described as putting grandmother in a mini-skirt...
Robert's is quiet, airy, and pretty. But I wouldn't recommend eating there.
My wife ordered a salmon niçoise, which the menu promised would include salmon, frisee, anchovies, olives, fried soft boiled egg, confit potato, and fennel. I ordered the same, and mine was fully constructed. Her salad lacked half the ingredients - anchovies, olives, and fennel. For both of us, the "confit" potato tasted as if cooked in nothing but unsalted water. What did we get? Essentially, a plate of frisee, with irregular other ingredients, for $18. Our colleagues received burgers and fries likely found in a struggling Ruby Tuesday.
There's little competition in the neighborhood, and we were there during a conference on a bitterly cold weekend, so we were essentially stuck. Sadly, it seems Robert's understands this, and cynically fields poor food to people who have no alternative choice to make.
My advice? Order in. Save your money. Reward your appetite.
This was the perfect place for our 3 cousin Reunion to celebrate a birthday. Convenient,Quiet, classes and beautiful.
I was incredibly disappointed. Nothing about the dinner experience was impressive.
Convenient.good meat.no real dessert
Great food and great service. Wonderful Hotel. We will be back.
After a long day of travel, we settled into the comfort of Robert's Restaurant. Service was professional and gracious. The portions are not large, but they are tasty. Syeak frites with a hollandaise sauce, roasted salmon with Swiss chard, and duck confit were all well presented and delicious.
We were staying at the hotel and it started pouring so we decided to eat in vs. venturing out in D.C. We were pleasantly surprised with the food and once we got seated - had very good service. My husband and I split the ceasar salad, crab cake appetizer and a filet. Our daughter had kid's mac-n-cheese which had a gouda taste to it she really enjoyed. I would say the steak was up to par with other decent steakhouses and less pricey. I would definitely eat here again if the opportunity presented.
Friends enjoyed the crabcakes. Caesar salad was not tossed with the dressing -- not appropriate for this type of salad. My steak was perfectly cooked and the sauce tasty. Dessert of espresso donuts was overcooked and dry and they were stingy on the sauce which could have helped the dryness at least a bit.
Very centrally located in aN awesome historical hotel. Restaurant has good ambiance but closer look it's a tad shabby. Very kid friendly staff went out of way to make my 3 year old hAppy. Food was good but not sure worth the price, not with other great options close by.
Breakfast buffet is excellent. The lunch is fine. But dinner service was subpar. Our server was not attentive and would rather have been somewhere else. The food was so-so but not worth the price. I would recommend many of the restaurants around the corner on Connecticut ave
The meal and service were both outstanding...And we had the breakfast buffet! I don't expect much for service during that type of meal, but as with everything else we experienced at the Omni, we were made to feel special. Everything we ate was beautifully displayed and lived up to it's looks with flavor. Delicious.
We have an upcoming conference at the Omni so decided to do some recon at their restaurant. The lobby is exquisite and the restaurant is right off the lobby with old world elegance. The server knew little about the menu items, seemed reluctant to get more information, and seemed to be making up his responses on the fly (can the sautéed pork chops be ordered grilled instead? Oh they are grilled, in the oven, after sautéing.) The crab bisque was barely warm with lots of crab shell pieces to pick out. My wife had the parpadelle with tomatoes. That was it - overdone pasta and tomatoes with some olive oil. I had the meatloaf, served with their 'homemade BBQ sauce.' Yes, it was - smothered in so much sauce that even after scraping off most, it still covered up any flavor of the meatloaf. it was accompanied by cold mashed potatoes and cold grilled zucchini. We hear that the brunch and breakfast buffets are exquisite, so maybe we'll recommend that to our conference attendees.
Great for brunch
But don't expect a big deal with roast beef turkey etc really a terrific breakfast buffet lots of amazing fresh fruit
The menu was simple but a lovely variety. Staff very attentive. Will definitely return!
Our waitress was unattentive. She brought a check before she asked if we wanted dessert or coffee. It was Valentines day and there were plenty of seats but she acted like she didnt want to wait on us.
Food was great.
An elegant but relaxed setting in a grand hotel steeped in history with great cuisine and friendly efficient service at good value
Beautiful setting. Lovely room.
Hadn't been in years.
Crab bisque was excellent. Amazing flavor, full of crab.
My food was very tasty but my potatoes and veggies were only warm and I like my meals hot. I had steak and it was delicious
Excellent meals despite the limited menu.
Very cheap foods, poorly prepared, poor service, over charged by $60 + dollars, charged 100% on beer($7.50 beer, + $ 7.50 beer tax), brought the wrong bill (for $2,160.96) - for three people? Couldn't eat the food. Shrimp was off/turned/spoiled. Veggies were dry and tasteless. Prime rib was ALL extra extra rare and bleeding all over the cutting table. And so on and on and on.
My last visit, ever.
Robert's is a lovely space. The food was mediocre at best, and expensive. We ate in the pleasant, sun-filled dining room twice for breakfast. Too bad you can't eat ambiance. The first time, we arrived at 11:15 for a late breakfast/brunch, only to be told by the head waitress that the restaurant closed at 10:00. Mind you that we had called the front desk twice to confirm Robert's hours. After some awkward moments, we were finally seated and served a passing-grade breakfast -- Eggs Benedict that arrived tepid. The next day, we went to Robert's at 10 am just before checking out and again found the food passable at best, and hardly worth the price. This time I had an unexceptional order of French toast. The orange juice tasted fresh; the coffee though was old. There is simply no excuse for a restaurant in a hotel of this quality to perform at such an undistinguished level.
Service very slow - one meal did not get prepared until after the rest of my guests were served - food very forgettable
Overpriced, pretentious. Wait-staff almost pushed me out of the way twice. Omelette maker person was rude. Croissants were burned and I had to ask 3 different people for butter (at the bread station). Only positive thing was the view if you can sit outside. What a waste. Out of 5 stars we gave it 0.5
Service was poor. Server did not bother to clear our salad plate and soup bowl before serving our entrees; we had to move them out of the way. First time I had to eat a steak without a steak knife. Matched by equally poor standard of the food and presentation
Had breakfast there on morning of 12 September. Experience was awful. No organisation. We had to take cutlery etc from another table. Waitress did not know what planet she was on let alone which galaxy. Had to ask three times for tea. No explanation as to what they had or where to go. Cost was 50 dollars!!!!!!!!!
Great menu selection, great personal service. I couldn't believe a plain iced tea was $4.75 , but I guess that's how it is. If you eat and valet, take your receipt to the valet for validated rate.
