Roberts Restaurant at the Omni Shoreham
We are working diligently to ensure that we’re doing everything possible to keep our guests and our employees safe during this time of extreme uncertainty. Mandates have been placed within the District that will suspend in-restaurant dining. While Robert's will be unavailable, our hotel will still offer in-room dining and Morsels Cafe for your dining pleasure.
The news surrounding COVID-19 is constantly changing so we will be keeping you updated as we navigate through these difficult times. We appreciate your patience and understanding and wish you all the best.

Great service. Our server was attentive and very quick - anticipating needs before we even asked. The salad was fresh, tasty and filling. Only complaint is that the crab cake had filling in it (bread?eggs?not quite sure). I'm admittedly spoiled when it comes to crab cakes having spent lots of time in Maryland, so it's disappointing when chefs try to stretch the crab by adding fillers. The open, airy and elegant Art Deco ambience more than made up for the disappointing crab cakes!
Made a reservation for 1:45 through Open table. Website for Robert’s read open all afternoon. Arrived on time and was told they would not seat us because the restaurant was not serving after 2:00. Fortunately, their was a great restaurant around the corner called “The Italians.” Great food at a better price than Robert’s. Will not attempt to dine at Robert’s again.
Beautiful, classic restaurant with delicious food and drinks. A perfect place for a special occasion.
The Roberts Restaurant at the Omni Shoreham was a little underwhelming. I tried to call numerous times to confirm my reservation but never got through to anyone on the phone. I called the regular hotel but still all they did was transfer me to the restaurant line that no one seems to monitor (called 5 times and left 2 messages). The ambiance was decent but just remember that it is inside of a hotel and not blocked off so there is a lot of traffic going on around the restaurant seating. The waiters service was pretty good and they were attentive. We went for Valentine's Day and there was a special menu which was nice and reasonably priced but the food was not that great. For a $52 steak it lacked flavor and was just ok as far as taste, nothing special. The sides tasted like they were made in a microwavable steam bag. The dessert was alright but overpriced for what you are actually receiving. The cleanliness was not the best either as I could see there was some trash under our table that had not been cleaned from whoever was sitting there before. If you do go make sure to arrive early as the Omni boasts free valet parking but the valet parking gets filled up pretty quickly so we could not even take advantage of that benefit.
The restaurant failed to mention that they are closed for the weeks during my reservation, although I have called in advance to check on my reservation. When we arrived, not even the staff at the hotel reception was the aware that the restaurant was closed. The management clearly has some serious internal miscommunication.
Roberts is a beautiful restaurant. Great lighting. Airy and bright during breakfast and lunch. Food service was good. The entrees we're large and tasty although the shrimp cocktail was not particularly large given the cost. $14.00. Wine by the glass can be purchased in 6 and 9 ounces servings.
Great ambiance with lots of space adjacent to a wonderful hotel lobby and windows to a patio and Rock Creek Park. The service was quite attentive, although the server got the plates mixed up at one point. We found the menu somewhat limited, although, in fairness, it was the lunch menu. (The deviled egg plant was delish!) Very nice time, want to go back for dinner menu.
The restaurant is beautiful! Wonderful service, wonderful ambiance, delicious food!
Good for Thanksgiving
I visited Robert's this past Friday evening with a friend. Except for us, the restaurant was completely empty of clientele the entire time we were at table. The menu is easy to understand, and the dishes arrived pretty much as I expected them. The server was an African woman having quiet, gentle manner. She brought everything to the table that we had ordered. I am not sure if she speaks English very well, but her quiet manner added nothing to our dining experience. My only complaint was the bread, served in a steel basket lined with a thick, cotton napkin. The bread was cold and looked as though it had just been removed from a cellophane package. With no other tables to serve except ours, someone should have heated the bread in an oven so that it arrived warm, if not hot. I told this to the server, and she said she would communicate this message to a manager.
I was disappointed that Robert's has gone the way of many restaurants today in that there are no table cloths, just dark brown, woven mats that can be (and should be) sanitized after a table is cleared. Aside from the drab tables, the ambience was sterile, lifeless, and our server did not bring any lively energy to the service. Every now and then the door leading to the Blue Room, located on the other side of the wall, would open and a flood of party noise would gush into Robert's for a few moments. That was the only sign of active life I could discern.
The other matter that was not right was that the plates were not hot. The food was warm, but the soup plates were not hot as the soup was poured into them, and the server did not have to use a cloth to handle the plates containing the main course. The soup was not as hot as it should have been. Again, the dining room was empty except for our table, so there was no excuse that a large number of diners had to be served at that moment.
The dessert was Chocolate Dream, which was a round, disk-shaped, flourless chocolate cake that
We chose Roberts because of it’s beautiful ambience, but we were even more impressed by the quality of the food and our service. We had the perfect evening with friends. Thank you to everyone who made our evening a perfect night!
Buffet chef was excellent AND so nice!
It was all beautiful, relaxing, and fun.
Server was very slow in getting to us throughout the meal. Did not communicate well. Felt ignored
I came back 2 days later because I couldn't stop thinking about the Crab Bisque. It is sooooo good. My god. I might have to travel back to DC so that I can eat there again!
Appropriately paced and attentive service. A great neighborhood location. Thank you!
Slow to seat us, slow to serve, had to order my drink twice, crab cake fair at best (no flavor)
Decent fare, expected better. Cost comparable with similar hotels. Convenient for hotel guests but would likely choose to dine elsewhere in the future.
I MADE A RESERVATION 2 OR 3 WEEKS BEFORE. I WAS REMINDED BY OPEN TABLE A FEW DAYS BEFORE. WHEN WE GET THERE THE RESTAURANT WAS CLOSED!! NOBODY LET ME KNOW. I HAD TO PARK MY CAR FOR $35.00 AND NOT UNTIL I GOT INSIDE THE HOTEL COULD I SEE THE RESTAURANT WAS CLOSED. THAT WAS VERY POOR AND SLOPPY COMMUNICATIONS BETWEEN THE RESTAURANT AND OPEN TABLE. I HAD OUT OF TOWN GUESTS LOOKING FORWARD TO IT. I AM OUT $35.00 FOR NOTHING!!!
Great food - server was very personable and knowledgeable. Enjoyed our dinner! Would definitely recommend!
Poor service and overpriced relative to the quality.
We were there on a Sunday evening at 6:30. We were about the only customers there. Fairly limited menu, high priced food and drinks and service that was non-remarkable.
Wonderful ambiance and our waiter was very professional and delightful. I have had brunch at Robert’s in the past and believe there is a slight decline the the food presentation and quality. Establish a dress code because athletic wear and tee shirts detract from your classy surroundings. Please maintain your excellence , if makes you stand apart and above other establishments.
I do not recommend.
The menu on the hotels website and on open table is not the menu at the restaurant. This has been true for months. The fact that Roberts hasn’t bothered to update the website is a clue to the overall level of customer service. When, after watching 4 or 5 restaurant employees chatting with each other in a virtually empty restaurant and failing to get anyone’s attention to order. I walked out
Excellent choice for Mother’s Day brunch🌺
The restaurant is on a great location, easily accessible close to Woodly Park Metro station. It has great views over Rock creek Park, with a very relaxing a quiet atmosphere. I recommend if possible to sit outside to get the more of the location. The food is standard however, we has brunch from the buffet and it's was fine.
The service was nice and friendly.
I was expecting a great meal in this beautiful space, but it was very ordinary. Clearly not a destination experience. If you have such a stunning setting why not bring the food up to that level?
Terrific venue for meeting with business colleagues especially when the event / conference is in the Omni Shoreham Hotel. Tables are set well apart from each other, the ambiance is upscale and classy without being opulent. The service was apprentice without being obtrusive. The food was perfectly prepared and nicely presented without being fussy. Tasty, good size portions and exactly as on the menu.
We always enjoy dining at Roberts Restaurant at the Omni Shoreham. They use top quality ingredients prepared in a range of menu choices -- from traditional to new and innovative. There are choices for every type of guest. Our family especially appreciates their long-term commitment to safe (absolutely no contamination) gluten-free food. This was our original reason for selecting the Omni for family dining events. We now return for the quality and experience.
We enjoyed Easter Brunch at Roberts. It was expensive but worth every penny. The food was amazing - raw bar, sushi, carving station, charcuterie and everything in between. Service was fantastic. Great mimosas and absolutely beautiful environment. You can walk out on the terrace and out into the beautiful garden which is gorgeous. I could have spent the whole day there!
Good food and ambience. Waitstaff fair. Hostess pleasant and accommodating.
Bring is a little too expensive
Overpriced and limited choices
Its adequate for hotel food. The only restaurant in the hotel.
Typical rigid hotel service as they aren’t happy to accommodate diner requests.
I took my niece here for diner. The staff were very attentive, ambiance is elegant and quiet so easy to converse.
We both had the Burrata salad which was delicious - tomatoes were flavorful and the Burrata melted in your mouth. Both of our dinners, the beef shank and the salmon, were well prepared and delicious!
A very nice experience!
They cannot handle large groups. Horrible service. Took 1 hour to get a salad.
Dinner at Robert's Restaurant at the Omni Shoreham was good but not excellent. The food, service and ambiance were all good. The restaurant is not as well separated from the lobby as we would have hoped. For a hotel restaurant, Roberts's is very good.
Hosted a business dinner at Robert’s and experienced highs and lows. We had a great table at the back which was quiet and conducive for discussion. The seafood and vegetation meals were excellent, but the beef was disappointing, and it the most expensive item on the menu. The wine list was good and well priced- but the bar closed so my guests could not get their after drinks. The wait staff were friendly but incompetent and slow. For example, they opened the wine and started pouring before I could taste it. The white wine was left out on the counter without and ice buckets. They changed the vintage year in the second bottle without informing me. It took a long time to get the check but fortunately for me, I was staying in the Omni and did not have far to go. They can and should do better.
