Roberts Restaurant at the Omni Shoreham
They cannot handle large groups. Horrible service. Took 1 hour to get a salad.
Dinner at Robert's Restaurant at the Omni Shoreham was good but not excellent. The food, service and ambiance were all good. The restaurant is not as well separated from the lobby as we would have hoped. For a hotel restaurant, Roberts's is very good.
Hosted a business dinner at Robert’s and experienced highs and lows. We had a great table at the back which was quiet and conducive for discussion. The seafood and vegetation meals were excellent, but the beef was disappointing, and it the most expensive item on the menu. The wine list was good and well priced- but the bar closed so my guests could not get their after drinks. The wait staff were friendly but incompetent and slow. For example, they opened the wine and started pouring before I could taste it. The white wine was left out on the counter without and ice buckets. They changed the vintage year in the second bottle without informing me. It took a long time to get the check but fortunately for me, I was staying in the Omni and did not have far to go. They can and should do better.
Wait staff taking order had no understanding of the menu. Slow, unresponsive service. Food was ok, nothing special. Poor experience given the price and location - I expected much more. The local restaurants were far superior.
The perfect place for a relaxed dinner after a long conference day. Elegant decor without excessive formality. Courteous staff's descriptions of dishes were right on target. Roasted leek did not overpower cauliflower in creamy soup. Various and affordable options for sparkling wines by the glass. Multiple seating arrangements available such as booths and chairs with straight backs to meet different needs and preferences.
Had a reservation for 5pm, we actually got seated early, which was really nice. The staff was wonderful from the time we were greeted until the time we left the restaurant. The food was amazing! The crab bisque was loaded with lump crab, and truly was wonderful! Everything we had for dinner was truly really good. The ambiance of the entire hotel is just awesome! The only drawback, there was a dance convention being held at the hotel, so there was an over abundance of people there, lounging in hallways and around the conference rooms, and kids running around. However, it did snow while we were there, and the hotel provided sleds for the kids, there was a hill next to the hotel that the kids were having a great time sledding down.
A beautiful Christmas morning breakfast with my family. Food and service was awesome and the restaurant was decorated so beautifully for the holiday.
The chairs are soft and too low, better for cocktails around a coffee table. Service polite ok, Caesar chcicken salad boring, anchovies good but chicken cooked too long.
Great service, very quite and comfortable restaurant perfect for a date. Really enjoyed it.
Food was delicious and we'll prepared at the Thanksgiving buffet. Friendly and efficient Service. Piano music very tasteful
Having enjoyed Thanksgiving feasts in Lake Placid NY, Philadelphia PA, Stowe VT, Nantucket MA, Washington DC, Annapolis MD, and too many other locations to list - we found the quality of the food, the vast selection of the menu, the beautiful presentation, and the beauty of the setting of Robert's Restaurant in the historic Omni Shoreham unmatched. The warmth of the extraordinary staff - from the doorman, the hosts & hostess, the dining room staff, and the piano player made it a very special experience. And, to observe the head Chef checking every detail and leading his team as they manned the many long tables filled with sumptuous offerings - one knew that what seemed so easy was the result of great attention to detail.
The best breakfast spot-even though expensive- in DC.
Food is pretty good and ambience is nice, but this restaurant is nothing special. Very good if you need to eat at the hotel.
Overpriced hotel restaurant. Very average food, uninspired service. Nothing redeeming that I can think of. Maybe if the food was better and priced more reasonably there would have been more than just the two of us dining in the entire restaurant that evening.
Restaurant is outstanding service is top-notch and food is great.
Both the food and the wine list were fine but certainly nothing exceptional. It feels like what it is, a hotel lobby restaurant. The food was properly prepared but lacked creativity. Food presentation was simple and the flavors basic. At the price, it was disappointing.
Their website says they serve brunch till 2.30pm on weekends but they only had a sparse lunch menu available and the server wasn’t able to answer any questions about the menu or otherwise.
Overall great experience...the food was tasty and the service excellent, while the ambience was exceptional! The short ribs are amazing.
The service was slow
Very lovely dining room, good food, great service. Very nice to have a good option while staying at the Omni.
Everything was just ok. Nothing really exceptional as I had anticipated. We chose to eat outdoors. The first disappointment was the dead bird next to our table. It was promptly remove but left a lingering foul smell in the air. The server was excellent but the kitchen service was slow. This was a real disappointment considering we were the first guest for the evening.
We enjoyed brunch at Robert's. Omelet and waffle station, plus a selection of hot food, pastries, fruit, cereal, lox. Even a gluten-free station. The food is good (not amazing), but it's a beautiful ambiance and a lovely outdoor area for dining or just wandering after brunch. Free valet parking with your brunch receipt.
Ate at Roberts for my birthday with my 4 siblings. I had no prior experience dining there but was very happy with the experience. Roberts is an elegant setting with traditional decor including beautiful chandeliers! There is also a beautiful terrace with fire pit. The food was delicious! I had the strip steak which could not have been better prepared!
excellent service, extensive breakfast options, beautiful stately open room w/ lovely garden view.
Service was excellent and the food was very good. Diverse menu.
Appreciate the warm welcome and focus of the maitre'd. Crab bisque is utterly sumptuous. Overall quality meal. Thank you, Robert Restaurant.
Elegant ambiance, professional staff, beautiful presentation, bland flavors.
Apparently reservations don’t mean much...waited more than 15 minutes after the time we reserved and kept being told it was for a special table in the back room. Eventually got neither the back room, nor a special table, six of us were crowded around a smaller table, but at least we were seated in time fro eat prior to our next meeting. Just wonder why people without reservations were seated before us.
Food was good, but restaurant was understaffed which is surprising to me as the organization i was with has 10K show up the same week every year.
Service was fair at best. Food also fair.
Mushroom soup served Luke warm and as watery as bath water
Braised short ribs dry
Lollipop chicken over cooked
Server had no personality and didn't really know how entrees were prepare
Beautiful setting for Mother’s Day brunch. It’s a bit pricey but the food was delicious and the selection was great.
We went for Mother's Day Brunch, wanting to try something new and close to the zoo. The food was by far the best I've ever had at a buffet-style meal. We've done many brunches like this, and nothing came close. It was absolutely pricey, but worth every cent. The selection of ranged from house specialties and a raw bar to standard breakfast fare. The service was impeccable - everyone seemed genuinely happy to be there and engaged with their tables. We always had our coffee and mimosas filled! The restaurant is at the back of the hotel lobby, but it's huge and never felt like it was in the middle of the hustle and bustle of guests checking in and out. There is outdoor seating if you would prefer. If you are deciding between this and another spot for a Sunday brunch, definitely give this one a try.
Love this place for brunch! My family goes every year.
Friendly staff, but buffet is way overpriced and sub-par, not much selection or variety
Simply on of the very best places in Washington DC to have a business breakfast, lunch or dinner. Attentive service, lovely adult music playing softly in the background, and always unrushed.
The service was a bit slow. Half way thru our quiet meal, 4 noisy people were seated next to our table. Their behavior was entirely inappropriate & should have been asked to leave. Restaurants should do this to protect other patrons.
The experience was incredible from start to finish. The manager greeted us, provided us champagne to help us celebrate, and followed up with us by text. It was an unforgettable experience.
Everything was perfect
Fantastic service and everything we order came out perfect
Roberts a great place for a meal
The food was brilliant, the Wine list needs some work. The service was good, but could use some polishing. Overall, a great experience! We will be back, soon!
Great food, great service, great ambiance! Absolutely loved Roberts!
Arrived a few minutes after 11, was not seated until almost 11:30. Breakfast ends at 12 - very rushed
