Robert's Maine Grill Ratings and Reviews
I have been to many Michelin rated restaurants (Elevan Madison Park, Per Se, French Laundry, among many more) and the Haddock cooked with the Chefs homemade butter was the best fish I have ever had. It was so good that my girlfriend, who hates fish, was licking the plate when she was done eating it. The other dishes were outstanding. The ambience was great. The Chef cooks in front of you, serves you, and talks about how he goes about choosing the ingredients. Definitely worth the visit for any foodie. I plan to return.
We really enjoyed the evening. The highlight was actually the service, very friendly, prompt, accurate and enjoyable. Oysters were a hit. Two of our group had lobster rolls and they seemed, frankly, a bit skimpy (we're from Maine, the two who had lobster rolls aren't). I had the haddock which was just fine, but nothing to fall over and die for. But, don't want to be picky, the food was tasty, nicely portioned and fairly priced.
We'd go again.
We always get an excellent meal here. Appreciate the menu with lots of locally sourced ingredients and that it isn't two miles long. They have their specialities and they do them very very well. Service is excellent even during the busiest times. We love this place.
We were seated right away when we arrived. Server was over immediately. We asked for suggestions and server was very knowledgeable about the menu. I had the salmon and wife had lazy man lobster with Mac and cheese and cornbread. We also started with the crab cakes which were excellent. My salmon was cooked perfectly with an excellent citron dill sauce that was perfect. The lobster was very good and the cornbread was fantastic. The food was well worth the price and service was excellent.
Have been here several times as a couple at the bar and in the dining room with groups. Food is always good with a lot of options for small plates or more traditional enteees. Lobster pizza and the grilled romaine are favorites. The expanded oyster bar is a nice improvement
Really great decor and atmosphere. Service was excellent. Waitress did not rush us as we were taking our time enjoying the atmosphere but was attentive. Food was fabulous- stuffed clam was not your average offering; very tastey with a zesty bite. Maine lobster roll was amazing however the lobster pizza was ok. Would definitely recommend and will come again.
Another Very Good Meal---Always seated on time or early and very professional staff. With wood floors the noise can be high, but well worth the meal. The salmon is the very best & we always enjoy the half portion desserts--Raspberry pie a la mode is a specialty!
We are frequent diners atRoberts. Consistency has been an issue during our last several visits. Oyster in particular. Usually the star of the show, the oysters have been opened poorly and don't seem as fresh. All other dishes just don't have tha same level of attention to detail and overall execution of flavor and presentation. We will always come back but just an honest assessment from a longtime fan!
This was our second visit to Robert's. we brought another couple. I like the fact they have free valet parking. hostess helped us get an outdoor table. The food is exceptional especially the haddock. Always take a look at what they are serving other tables. The food looks amazing. Our service was a little slow but still good. They are a little tight on the martini and wine portions but this still a great place and we will be back!
I had lunch with two friends. One got the lobster roll, which was priced aggressively for the plate. The lobster was skimpy and not fresh. The second person ordered the crabmeat/avacado melt. The crabmeat was so drenched in mayo, they were not able to eat most if it. The bread was oozing butter and the avacado was sparce. The third person ordered a burger. It was ok, nothing great, just an average burger you could get anywhere. For the price, this is not a good value at all. I don't mind paying for a hood meal, but this at beat was less than medico.
