Robert's Maine Grill Ratings and Reviews
Made reservations in advance knowing that this place is always busy. Arrived with our party 10 minutes prior to our reserved time and they told us it was going to be a 30-45 minute wait. So my question is why bother offering a reservation service if you don't honor it. Food and service was fine, (crab cakes were delicious) but drinks were inconsistent. Same martini was ordered twice and they were polar opposite tasting. (#1 weak, #2 over poured and had to dilute it with ice).
Will return, but will make sure we don't have a set itinerary for the evening.
I would like to say thank you again for the wonderful experience I had at Roberts. My waitress was great and greeted us right away. Along with another waitress that I happened to know. She came along and sugguest the best stuff on the menu. My favorite part however was the surprise brownie sundae with a candle seeing how it was my birthday!
I had a fantastic first time at Roberts! Thanks again !
The food was delicious, and the service was wonderful, but the place obviously caters to tourists. It was also a bit pricey.Robert's was recommended by a friend who shops the outlets often, but I was just visiting Maine for the day. THe little Shop in the front of store gave it away! Next time I will try Bob's Clam Shack.
Our first food stop on our vacation to Maine. Our server, Amy, was super in every way, including being extremely helpful with all of our travel questions (we were headed toward Acadia and were asking tips of places to see on the way) The food was fresh, well prepared, and delicious. We will definitely stop again on our next visit to Maine!
I had been to your restaurant several times and my daughter was in from Calif. and this just more than fit the bill for what she wanted. Our waitress was extremely helpful and pleasant and the bus boys were the same.. Thank you for making part of her stay so enjoyable.
My girlfriend and I love this place. We always make it a point to stop here whenever we're driving to/from Portland. Good price points for the amount of food offered. High quality raw bar, nice and fat lobsters, great atmosphere, and a nice view... Can't ask for anything more.
Robert's is a must dine choice for our family when we are in the area. Often we will dine two or three times over a long weekend..why...because there is something for everyone done just the way we like it...being predictable, consistent in preparation taste and quality to return for something different each time works for us. Great local beer, fresh seafood, all around a winner in our eyes.
We were seated within a few minutes of our reservation. The food was very good, with a variety of choices. Our server did an excellent job. The only negative was that it was extremely noisy and almost impossible to carry on a conversation, but that may have been because it was Mother's day with large family groups and lots of small kids. I would definitely go again but not on a holiday.
I was pleased that my husband who is allergic to seafood could eat at Robert's Maine Grill. He also is vegetarian, so was happy with a bean burger and sweet potato fries. I love fried oysters and had that in a sandwich. I wish they would have put the sweet chutney on the side, next time I will tell them. My friend had a lobster cob salad and thoroughly enjoyed it. The onion rings were huge and tasty. We had a window seat and could see the river. Not a terrific view, but it is always nice to see water. It was a bit crowded on Saturday, but the service was excellent. We had the crab cakes and they were really good. The prices matched the quality of the food --high, but worth the price. We made a reservation but I don't know if we really needed to.
I look forward to going to Robert's every time I go to Kittery to shop. I am a foodie and can find plenty of items on the list to enjoy. They have wonderful fresh salads and I love the lobster sliders. The restaurant itself is simply charming with great views of the marsh and the water. I simply love this place and I am pretty a picky diner!
We had a great time. There were 4 of us and we were seated about 10 minutes after our reservation time, which wasn't too bad because the place was packed. Three of us ordered the boneless fried chicken dinner and everyone raved about it. One person ordered the lobster mac and cheese and said it was great. The service was good. It was a little loud because it was so crowded and our table was downstairs very near the busy bar. But overall it was a really enjoyable dinner and we will surely be back this summer.
Given it's location right on the 'strip' of outlet malls, I hadn't given Robert's a chance until I saw them on OpenTable. Glad I did. Food is creative and very good. Upscale and casual at the same time. Seafood is fresh and well prepared. Service has been great too. This was my second great experience at Robert's.
Just learned about Roberts in late Dec and have been going often ever since. Food is consistently delicious and on certain nights they donate a portion of the receipts to local charities. Great for salads and sandwiches, lobsters and the oyster sliders are scrumptious!
Seated within minutes of reservation time. Snow or no snow, this place is busy. The host graciously greeted us as our table was being prepared. The service was very good, the food was outstanding. One of my favorite places to go for a special occasion. We started with a large bucket of steamers and a glass of Pinot Noir. For the meal, I had Lobster and mussels over linguini and my sweetheart had paella (not on the menu but we love it, hope they bring it back on the menu). And to finish, a chocolate bread pudding.
We eat here often because the people at Roberts are genuinely hospitable. Whether you want a bowl of chowder, a burger or a full course dinner, you will be warmly received. The $14 three course community suppers on Tuesdays and Wednesdays are a winter treat and benefit local charities. Roberts is committed to serving locally sourced foods: scallops, oysters, lobsters, shrimp, beef, potatoes, salad greens, tomatoes and more. Good food, good people!
We stopped at Roberts to get a break from all the snowblowing and shoveling. We were lucky enough to get Brandie for our waitress. ( Brandie, You're a fine girl !!! as the song goes.) She was friendly, informative and very attentive. My wife had the lobster cobb salad and I had the scallop roll along with 2 drinks apiece. The food was excellent and it was a great lunch experience.
Our friends had a gift card and we have already been to Robert's on several occasions. My friend Jan and I had the special fish - which was very good. The potatoes however were disappointing. My husband had lobster cobb salad - excellent and Don had fried scallops which he said were very good. We had dessert and coffee. Don and my husband had the coffee. Both said that the coffee was a little weak...which was surprising, because we have had it there before and thought they had good coffee. Maybe they have changed brands since the holidays. Overall, we will go back again. Since it was our friends' first time, we hope they will try it again. Our server was very attentive - even ran after my husband outside in the cold because he forgot his debit card! Barbara
Recently bought a house in the York area and were looking for good, local places to dine. A friend recommended Roberts and we're sure glad he did. Dined at a table one night and at the bar the second. Enjoyed the Pumpkin salad, chowder, lobster, lobster rolls and fish tacos immensely! We will be back for sure.
