Nice place for a quiet dinner. The service was exceptional.
Blackened shrimp was the best restaurant meal in along time. Will order it again soon!
JUST A GREAT EXPERIENCE, WAITRESS MIRSA (sic) Was great, drinks excellent, food superior. We have been there at least a half-dozen times always good, but this was the best overall experience by far. My halibut was delicious, my wife's filet mignon was outstanding!!!
Service was outstanding and our meals were very good. Robert’s Crossing is a place we frequently visit for special occasions.
The food and the service was absolutely excellent unfortunately the table next to us had four people and they were extremely loud other than that it was a wonderful experience
One of the nicest restaurants in Salem. We visit our daughter at school in Salem and always come here for a special dinner. Great food and moderate prices. Service is punctual and friendly. Great rustic looking property.
This was our fourth time dining at Roberts Crossing. We love the food. Wait persons are always friendly and the service is always excellent. Unfortunately. the noise level both in the main dining area and in the bar area prohibits you from having a conversation without leaning into each other across the table or raising our voices to be heard. So - for a lively, bustling place to have dinner I would recommend it. For a quiet evening out with your significant other or another couple, I would have to say this is not the place to go.
It was mostly awesome. Just a bit noisy for us, so difficult to visit with each other.
We were visiting the area with another couple celebrating my husbands birthday. we have a wonderful time! Thank you, Debi Smith
Food was outstanding. Our server was probably the least involved of all the servers but was good though never inquired if we were there for a special occasion like the others. Would not keep us from returning if we were in the area.
My husband and I went to celebrate my birthday this week. We stumbled on this fantastic restaurant about two months ago when we stopped in to celebrate my new job. We were impressed then and even more so this time.
We ordered the sea scallops and the bone-in pork chop. The scallops were on top of creamy risotto and the pork chop had a side of mashed potatoes. Both plates included amazing asparagus spears. The food was perfectly cooked and nicely plated. Our server was attentive but not overbearing. We shared the limoncello mousse for dessert. So good!
We can’t recommend this restaurant too highly. We will definitely return.
Good food, good wine, good service, nice environment. A very pleasant experience all around.
Quaint place. Off the beaten path.
Lovely inside parking is a bit rough.
Food was very nice and served well. Staff was fantastic
Good variety good choices overall a good place with nice Ambience to take a date
We took a couple here for their first time. They loved their meal and dessert. We had an excellent server, she was very professional and kind. Food couldn’t have been better !!
I would probably tell friends to give it a try, with the caveat that there are better places in the Salem area. Our meals were tasty enough but fairly average. The wait staff were very nice, accommodating, and prompt. Prices were a little on the high side, given the average quality of the food and preparation. A place like this should be serving wild caught salmon, but they had none. The bar is cozy enough and drinks fairly priced.
The food was excellent as usual & the service was outstanding. This is why it's our favorite place for dinner!
We were really disappointed with our experience. They had a nice anniversary card at the table for us when we arrived and that is the best thing that happened all night. My husband's filet mignon looked like it had been boiled, and my kobe steak was so salty I literally could not eat it. There were a bunch of broken shells in the broth of the steamer clams. The server could not tell me what cut of meat I was ordering and she knew nothing about the wine list. For a $200 dinner I just expect much, much more. Big downgrade from the last time we ate there.
Nice job! Good food and great drinks! We'll be back.
Excellent service by Allison, warm atmosphere, low noise level, and delicious food!
Second time there. Excellent food and service. The price was what you would expect from a good restaurant.
The only downside is that because it is a little small the sound of noisier guests overpowers the background music.
There was a loud group that sounded like they had one too many martinis.
Will definitely be back.
Nice place, on the way toward Independence on River Rd. Quiet setting, good food. I thought the service was a little weak for the price point.
we recommend Robert's Crossing to everybody. the foods are excellent, always. nice wine selection, the people are very nice and attentive, but not too attentive. tremendous restaurant
I loved everything about the restaurant! It was quiet so you could talk...atmosphere was great...fine dining experience. I am allergic to gluten so they made sure everything was gluten-free for me plus they had several choices...service was excellent and the food delicious! We will come back!!
This was our second time here. We had a party of 6 with one celebrating her 80th birthday. One was a relative on vacation from Alaska who has traveled and dined in great restaurants all over the world. She commented that this was one of the best meals she has enjoyed in many years. She and I thoroughly enjoyed the Kobe Coulotte steak. We asked for substitutions of garlic Yukon mashed potatoes and for the red wine jus that came with another entrée and were quite pleased with the result. The beef was fork tender and full of wonderful flavor. The jus made the selection simply perfect. I rarely finish my entrée, when dining out, but there was only a nearly spotless plate when dinner was over! Needless to say, I was too full for dessert. The others in our group chose the fillet mignon, fisherman's stew and the chicken saltimbocca. They were also full, but dinner was incomplete without the conclusion of a luscious dessert shared with a second person. We enjoyed the peach crisp, lemoncello mousse and the complimentary birthday choice of the brownie sundae. The pre dinner drinks set the mood for a wonderful evening of great food and conversation and the after dinner drinks and coffee sent us all off in our different directions with huge smiles on our faces and vows to "do this again!"
This is a rustic restaurant that was fairly quiet. So it has a bit of ambiance. However the quality of the meal and the service did not justify the $100 price tag.
1) I had noted that it was our anniversary when I made the Open Table reservation, but the staff at Roberts' Crossing did not seem to be aware of that.
2) Our meals were not prepared as requested. I ordered my kobe beef medium rare and it was rare. My husband's filet mignon was also supposed to be medium rare and it was well done with a tiny bit of pink in the center.
3) The vegetables were poorly cooked and oddly chosen. The potatoes were bit salty for my taste. And believe it or not, the "seasonal vegetables" were undercooked PARSNIPS. First of all, who even likes parsnips, and second of all it's AUGUST in the Willamette Valley where tasty vegetables are in abundance, not the middle of winter in the far north where the only thing available are root vegetables. Go figure.
4) Finally the service was just so-so. Our server spent lots of time at another table and called me "dear", which I find extremely patronizing.
We will not return to Roberts Crossing and will let our friends know to avoid it as well.
Company from out of town here and Robert's was the choice for a special dinner. His salmon and my blackened shrimp were both excellent. Charming server too!
Great food and service. Unfortunately the bee's thought the food was good too. Outside weather was perfect. Suggest they get some bee traps or something to attract the bees away from the table area.
Fantastic service. Great food! Easy drive from town. Never been here but glad we came out for date night.
The food was very good. Service was excellent. The folks at another table were a bit raucous for a Thursday evening, but tolerable. My wife got her creme brûlée on the house for her birthday.
Good food for a decent price. The service is rather swift - don't expect to spend a full night on a table!
Anniversary dinner with my folks, the food was delicious and the hostess and waitress were friendly. Overall a nice evening - always have had a great dining experience here. The blackberry lemon drop was so good! We love the wine selection here as well. Will definitely be back and highly recommend as one of Salem's best restaurants.
Lots of personal attention!
I have had some great meals at Roberts crossing. This one was just ok. I was not fond of the overly sweet brussel sprouts and do not feel it was paired well with the delicate steak and mashed potatoes.
The steak was cooked perfectly and it was very tender but got overpowered to the point where I did not eat the brussel sprouts anymore.
I brought two friends to dinner. Our waitress was DELIGHTFUL. Full of personality and an excellent waitress too. We all thought she was wonderful. Our meals were all excellent , as usual.
Really nice place, quiet, amazing food, tremendous service.
Food was very good and service was excellent. Everything was well-timed and we never felt rushed or that we had to wait too long. It got a little noisy toward the end of our dinner but it appears they have done everything they can to mitigate noise. Overall a very nice experience for our anniversary dinner.
The food and service, as always, was outstanding. Our only regret is the noise level. We were a party of 5 and could barely hear our own conversation. It is unpleasant to yell across the table to your dinner companions. I think we will eat in the bar on our next visit to remedy that situation.
The food and service was outstanding. We brought friends from out of state and they thought the whole ambiance, food and especially the wait staff who made us feel entertained. Thank you Rkbert’s Crossing.
