Fabulous night at Roberto’s!!
The hostess was outstanding and went above and beyond to greet and seat everyone. It was super busy and she smiled through it all.
Waitstaff all work together so nicely. Very attentive all evening and very friendly.
Food was great!
The owner of this restaurant should be very proud of his staff.
I highly recommend going to this restaurant. We will be back soon!!
Food was fabulous, as usual, and Greg, our server was wonderful.
It was our first time dining here. The food was superb! Our server was a delight. My only concerns were that the tables were really close together and the noise level was wicked high. We'll be back!
Out of the main part of town. Staff was great, but there are not enough of them. I felt bad as they tried to keep up with all the tables. Décor was odd- they just hung a few old school Italian posters and some plastic garlic. Seemed weird. More like a breakfast place they converted to dinner.
Food was decent, nothing spectacular.
We waited for dinner for over an hour. The waitress was argumentative. It was overall a bad experience.
Food was phenomenal! Servive was top notch. We had a great waiter. He was very attentive even though he was covering a lot of tables.
We arrived about 15 minutes prior to our 6:30 reservation. We were told the table wasn't ready. We came back at 6:30 and got the distinct impression that our table was given away, something the hostess said. Looked like she then scrambled to put together a couple mismatched tables.
Food and waiter made up for the blunder.
We had a number of issues with our meal here:
1. It took the waitress 25 min. before she got to our table.
2. It took 30 min. another before we got the drinks we ordered.
3. One of the sets of silverware, rolled in a napkin had a knife that was used, had red sauce on it. I showed the waitress, she said nothing and just returned with a new set of rolled up silverware.
4. The clams casino appetizer was just panko breadcrumbs on small clams, only flavor was the lemon squeezed on them, very disappointing.
5. The oysters rockefeller was undercooked, we ate half and had to stop.
6. We ordered a glass of wine each when our dinner arrived at the table. We finished our meals and our drink order never arrived, had to ask the waitress to remove them from the bill.
7. My dinner (short rib/risotto) was pretty good but my wife's dinner (chicken rollatini) was burnt black on the bottom and had no flavor and a slight amount of sauce. She did say the pasta was cooked perfectly though.
I really don't complain about meals or service but this dinner out was a big disappointment. A couple next to our table saw our situation and complained with their service/food as well. I'm sorry to say we would never go back to this restaurant.
We had a 7:00 reservation which it seemed many other people did too. The hostess could not keep up with people trying to check in. We had to wait several minutes past our reservation to be seated. The staff had to run around like crazy trying to keep up. Most of them had a great attitude but were obviously working very hard. It took a very long time for our dinner to arrive but we ordered an appetizer so that helped. Our server came back to get us more drinks and check in with us. It was a bit on the noisy side and my husband and I sometimes had a difficult time hearing one another in conversation. He had chicken parmesan and said it was very good. I had the eggplant parmesan and while it was good, parts of the edges were on the overdone and crispy side. The pasta was cooked al dente. The wine list was good.
Our party of 6 was seated at 6:45 for a 6:30 reservation for a table we reserved in the bar which was unavailable upon arrival , poor planing on their part. They hastily put together two tables in the line of fire to the kitchen, far cry from what we reserved. Once seated, we waited an hour for our drinks which arrived the same time as our appetizers leaving us no time to savor our cocktails prior to eating. The hostess and our waitress couldn’t have been nicer, problem is they were understaffed and the bartender wasn’t preparing drinks in succession of the orders coming in. The food was quite good, but were were frustrated with not getting seated at the lovely table we requested, being seated in the line of fire, waiting an hour for cocktails and the lack of an apology or offer to make it right. Similar experience occurred the last time we came which left us saying we would never return. We all decided to give it another chance hoping for a better experience, that’s it for us, hope you have better luck.
Food was good, but we did have send back an appetizer (grilled asparagus) because it was brought out after the other members of the party had already finished their appetizers and was missing components. (Kitchen's hot and cold stations weren't in sync). Side of garlic bread ordered for the table were made with olive oil according to menu but they were overly soaked in butter and soggy. Cake desserts were good but overpriced for the portion size. Service was good, with no complaints.
The food was delicious!
We travel from NJ to Ogunquit 3-4 times a year and never miss dinner at Roberto’s. It’s one of the highlights of our trip!
The food was okay but the service was very slow and not responsive.
I would not go back with all the choices available in Ogonquit.
Long wait even with reservations and very loud, food was okay.
Sat at the bar, service was extremely slow and very unorganized.
Ordered the chicken Marsala with penne. Never expected the penne to be on the side with a red sauce. Very odd sauce with the marsala, it was some type of red sauce.
Won’t be returning for a long while but service at a table might have been better.
The bar staff was inexperienced and very slow. The restaurant was understaffed for the amount of people they were seating. We waited over a 1/2 hour after being seated for a server. The staff was overwhelmed and visibly testy with one another. The food was ok, wasn’t worth the price. The table we were given was basically in the waitstaff’s area..they were slamming plates filling silverware drawers and ringing in orders basically right next to our table. Should not be seating guests in that area.
As always the food is on point and the bar tenders make cold cocktails. The valet parking is great
Jennifer was our waitress and she is top notch. The food, the service and the whole experience was phenomenal.
Roberto's has really stepped up this year. The food is a lot better than I remember. Be prepared to wait for your food. The restaurant is very busy and there does not appear to be enough help. With that said, the servers were excellent and very friendly. The hostess did a great job of accommodating our seating and we had an excellent experience because of that. Overall, really good meal and the experience was great.
We sat outside which was very quiet. The food took awhile to come up but that is to be expected as they were still a bit short handed. But Greg the waiter certainly made up for it. He was really working hard to keep all customers happy. The food was excellent and we all enjoyed our meals. Well worth it if you can be patient.
Beautiful restaurant. I ordered the chicken Marsala over penne. When delivered to the table it was chicken in the Marsala sauce with pasta and red sauce on the side. The sauce tasted like Campbell’s tomato soup. I have never seen a red Marsala sauce. My son ordered chicken saltamboca and asked for no sage over penne. Again pasta with red sauce on the side and loaded with sage. My husband ordered eggplant Parm. It was just ok. Again beautiful atmosphere but will not return.
I have eaten here many times in the past and have always enjoyed their Italian Food.
The Veal Parmigiana didn’t disappoint it was pounded thin and crispy on the edges. The gravy is excellent also as were the drinks and service.
The only flaw was the Antipasto for two that we ordered. It didn’t have any cheese on it other than than a couple of small pieces of mozzarella on 2 tomato slices. The antipasto usually comes with a bunch of olives also and there were only a couple.
Very pleasant dining experience! Our meals were excellent and the valet, hostesses and our waitstaff were all friendly and proactively helpful.
Great server Jennifer. She made the experience wonderful. Reservations a must ask for her table.
Everything was terrific.
Excellent food, one of our favorites in Ogunquit!!
My husband & I spent a week in Ogunquit and tried several restaurants.
… mist were wonderful. Robertos was fair at best. The worst part of the dining experience was the service. It was obvious that the wait staff had little or no experience…. They didn’t bring the drinks at the same time, left the dishes on the table after we had completed our meals and it appeared that they had no clue that they should me removed. We had to ask for the dishes to be removed….
An Hour for the food to arrive. Barely got a second glass of wine while I waited. Finally someone brought me some bread.
Wonderful red sauce (gravy). And I say that having a Nana whose red sauce was an event 😄 Great atmosphere and service plus they have valet parking. And the value for cost IMHO can’t be beat in town.
Atmosphere is welcoming and intimate yet celebratory where a bottle of wine is a must
Staff is discreet with a warm friendliness undertone,
Food offerings of traditional Italian married with Maine fare,
Beef Carpaccio whets the appetite along with the Oysters Rockefeller
Pasta that melts in your mouth enhanced with a sauce that compliments perfectly,
Blueberry Crumb Ice Cream that begs for seconds to take home for breakfast,
All while inhaling the Maine sea mist with whispers of pine freshness,
Surrounded by beauty that is intoxicating to leave an imprint to last a lifetime.
Thank you Roberto’s!
Food was great, as always.
Service was very friendly.
They seem alittle short staffed.
Very authentic Italian cusine. Dined here many times and it is always very good.
Good food good service..overall good place to eat
Chicken rolatini and seafood risotto DELICIOUS
Brandon server/bartender wonderful
Waitstaff was very friendly and the food was delicious. Very good dining experience.
Outstanding food from start to finish..Our Waitress went above and beyond to assure us of a fine dining experience despite a busy restaurant..Well Done.
Had a table reserved but it was way too crowded and understaffed. Waited at the bar where we met Brandon our bar tender. Decided to stay there. He was wonderful and we enjoyed amazing drinks and quick prompt service. Food was very very good! Like I would cook at home.
We arrived for our reservation and we were seated without menus. The hostess was overwhelmed by the number of people checking in - two hostesses are needed to handle a busy dinner time rush of seating inside and out. We sat for 35 min before getting water. We went inside to speak to the owner about the lack of service and she was extremely rude.
Updates to the online Open Table menus are needed because we were surprised to see our meals of choice were both $6 higher than advertised.
My husband received the wrong meal which the waitress remedied.
The Caesar salad was overdressed. The lobster risotto was very good after a 40 min wait for meals.
Do not visit if you are in a hurry as overall experience was over 2 hours due to SLOW service.
Great food! The food was on point, the drinks were cold and creative 🍸🍸🍸. Friendly and professional servers. Love the complementary valet parking
I have to start by saying we have been coming to Roberto’s for years and always had a wonderful meal & a good experience. However, something has changed as we had the worst experience last night. It started when they sat us in a small side room with another party of about 15. Then the waitress spilled my wine as she was collecting the menus & never came back to clean it up. It went downhill from there. How you can mess up manicotti is beyond me but they did. It came out hard & we had to send it back. I suspect it was not fresh made they stuck it in a microwave as it was even worse when they brought it back out. The bolognese was so salty you could only have a couple bites & was not much more than over salted ground beef & some noodles. My husband got the sausage & linguine & just ate the sausage as the noodles were tasteless. Twice we had to go into the bat to order our drinks as our waitress was nowhere to be found. Finally on the way out I tried to let the owner know how disappointed we were however she got incredibly defensive & told us they haven’t changed a thing & didn’t seem at all interested in our feedback. Consequently I felt compelled to post this review.
