Risotto alla Vaccinara
Italian Arborio rice cooked in an oxtail ragu` topped with toasted almonds and shaved Pecorino Romano cheese
All, good the server cleared the food before we were done, I personally think everyone at the table should be done, the last person eating should not eat alone. That is just basic table service. I know I am picky but I was trained to serve wine, they could use a lesson... if they really want Butler service... but the food was good...
Amazing service, food and wine!
Good food a bit on the pricey side. Had chicken parmigiana and dessert. Drinks are Manhattan prices.
A meal at Roberto’s is always outstanding. The menu has unique combinations of flavors. Papardelle with smoked duck breast for example. The soft shell crab was not in the usual garlic sauce so that the mild flavor was able to be appreciated. We were adventurous and tried a Calabrian red which was very good. And the service was impeccable. The only slight negative was that the large party at the adjacent table was very loud.
Had a great time! Fantastic food and super friendly staff.
One of the best Italian places in NYC, if not the best.
Roberto can elevate cannellini or fava beans in a dish to make everything look and feel special. The quality of the ingredients is the best you can find. Yes, the menu offers the caprese, parmigiana, Milanese, and risotto that Italian food fans expect. Diners will not find penne alla vodka or eggplant rollatini on the menu. Roberto's menu is full of wonderful surprises diners may not be expecting - and should try, or at least, trust Roberto. Risotto con Melone, a creamy rice base enhanced with grilled melon, or Bucatini "Modo Mio" (my way) with a zucchini sauce that conjures the idea it was created by Roberto (or perhaps his mom or grandma) Radiatore in Cartoccio - in fact any of the cartoccio pastas - beautifully adorned and cooked in foil. Watch the daily board for specials because here that means he snagged a limited amount of something good and built a dish for it. Yes, an average price of $25/dish is robust for a plate of pasta, but if everything from the quality of the pasta or risotto itself all the way up through the ingredients is well thought out, shows care and attention to detail, that is what you pay for. With duck, rabbit, oxtail and fresh truffle on the list, you know the chef is thoughtfully combining flavors and is excited to deliver them to you. Prices are not cheap, but portions are generous and twice the size of those you would get in a restaurant in Rome. 15 years ago they didn't take reservations; celebrities would wait on Crescent Ave to get a table and meet the chef, who is often there. Please don't compare Roberto to your local "red sauce" Italian - I challenge anyone to find a translation error on the menu. Roberto is the real deal and lucky for us he's been bringing Italy to the Bronx for 30 years.
Amazing food and service. Took my boys 8 and 11 and they loved it too.
Food was amazing our server suggested a great plan for family style. Be. Attentive service they noticed our table of 6 was squished and added a small table to our end- very impressed. Amazing food and ambiance it did get quite loud toward the end of the meal.
Great wine recommendation. Also, the wait staff were very confident in food suggestions that we both loved. It was a fantastic birthday dinner experience for my girlfriend, thank you!
Fabulous meal! A true dining experience. Everything about it was top notch. We will definitely return!
We arrived late but they still accommodated us. Very friendly, great food, and the ambience was perfect for dinner with family. I even forgot to take any photos, as the food and atmosphere was great for late evening conversations with family. Will definitely be back.
An overall excellent dining experience. The staff was professional, service was excellent. Nice selections of wines by the glass. All of our apps, pasta and entries were superb.
Great service and food. Our waiter was very helpful with menu selections. Love this restaurant.
Long standing reputation continues. Excellent food, beyond the usual "red sauce" menu.
Service very attentive.
Excellent service, very attentive staff. And did I mention the fabulous food! Best tiramisu ever!
Roberto's was great as usual. Food was amazing service was the best. It's a fresh of breath air watching the waiters/staff work as hard as they do. Never a disappointment when go to Roberto's!
Always great. And always even greater when the place plays “Happy Birthday” to any customers who are celebrating. The specials are invariably terrific—fettuccine with truffles for me last night and soft-shelled crabs for my wife. Wait staff were perfect.
Amazing food and incredible service in restaurant that reminded us of Italy!
Pasta dishes were phenomenal. Super Tuscan wine was excellent. Only disappointment was the veal which was not tender enough. I would go back again for the pasta and just have a meal of that, with an appetizer first.
Good and service was great!!! Noise from other tables was much to loud.
Celebrating our anniversary, we chose Roberto’s because we knew food would be superb. We were not disappointed in either appetizer or pasta entree. The grilled octopus was by far the tastiest and most tender we have ever had. The only downside was the noise level. It was pretty loud and prevented us from having the more intimate conversation that would have normally be part of our reminiscing on an anniversary. Next time we go will be a week night when have had quieter meals. However, the incredible food was still worth the highlight.
We were a party of 5. All apps and main courses were perfectly prepared. The servers were attentive and friendly. Would definitely recommend Roberto’s to anyone looking for authentic Italian cuisine.
Been going here for 30 yrs. Always so very good! Last night tables were very sticky, employees not wearing masks, veal scallopini tough, sauce congealed, specials were good. I saw that the tables were sprayed but they need a good scrub down!!! Even the utensils were sticking! YUK!
Roberto, what has happened to your great place? Can't recommend at the moment. So sorry!
fabulous meal and the service was outstanding. a wonderful experience.
Amazing.. come from Va 2x a year to eat at Roberto’s
Roberto's has reopened! Go!!
We have been eating at Roberto's for many years. It was a delight to be back after the long lockdown. The food and service are fabulous. We tried a risotto with cantaloupe, prosciutto, and parmesan cheese that was heavenly. Roberto's continues to be the best Italian restaurant in the US.
Thank you to everyone at the restaurant for such a great meal.
Great meal, competent and efficient service, definitely returning ad often as possible
A delightful place for a beautifully prepared meal. Service was excellent; Loni was a true professional. Lovely wine selection and all the appetizers and entrees were on point. Thanks for the wonderful night!
Excellent service, food and overall experience. The entire staff was very attentive.
Have not lost a bit Still the best of the neighborhood!!
I ordered the fall off the bone lamb shank, which was outstanding! Always great food and even better service!
Nice imaginative menu with authentic and well-thought out dishes. Service was amazing as was the food!
Restaurant seems a little dated and a bit average for what they charge. Furniture is banged up and wobbly, etc. They also don't really offer a lunch menu and full pasta plates for lunch are too heavy. If you're in a pinch sure, otherwise there's better options.
Always excellent real deal Italian cooking with a good selection of daily specials in the whiteboard. But mostly it’s that the execution of every dish is so spot on every time.
Everything we ordered was great. The salmon and branzino were excellent, the 3 pastas we tried we all really tasty.
Great pasta dishes! We be going back in the near future for certain.
Family get together
We were so thrilled to get a table at Roberto’s. The food was excellent as well as the wine. Loved it immensely and I am certain you will not be disappointed. Great night out!!
