The service was excellent, including the manager who came by to see how we were doing. The pastas and appetizers were very good, a veal scallopine dish was over cooked. Overall it is over-priced, which is the only problem.
Should open at 4:30 during Yankee games. Could not handle 5 pm - 6:15 pm rush.
Great as usual!
Told waiter that we were celebrating a birthday, he didn’t remember. He was rude to my friend(birthday person).
Waiter’s name- Loni
An excellent meal as always. Roberto's never disappoints! Wonderful service
And fresh ingredients expertly prepared and carefully presented. A must visit!
Excellent food and service. Would definitely go back.
We've been coming to this restaurant for over 20+ years and our last 2 trips have disappointing.
The sea bass was just ok and my wife's pasta dish was up to " Roberto's" standards. There also
has been a large turn over in staff. I feel like Roberto has taken his foot off the gas pedal.
I will still give it one more try before I write it off.
My wife and I met a friend in the city and made a reservation online. We were dressed casually because we were on our way to a soccer match but felt comfortable and welcomed. The wine list was extensive and the wait staff was impressive. We all enjoyed our meals but the truffle pasta my wife ordered was our favorite. We chose Roberto’s based on reviews and the large menu options. We definitely plan to come back.
We like to come back!
Very original menu selections. Prompt service. I don’t like being asked to wait at the bar for our table that was empty.
Extremely loud-could barely hear each other. Inattentive service. Food was fine, nothing special. It was not an awful experience, but unsatisfactory enough that we would not return.
After a great day visiting the old neighborhood of Pelham parkway , we had a spectacular lunch at Roberto's -- a place I had been trying to get to for years. Until recently their policy of no reservations made it difficult. That said , the food is simply terrific. The best way to order is check the daily specials and share. For three of us, we shared 2 appies, 2 pastas and one main. Standouts were the burrata.eggplant appie; the artichoke fava bean ravioli; the orichiette with shrimp. Veal was excellent. We had a full body Nero D'avola. A lovely relaxed meal -- and an end to a perfect day!
Food was wonder as well as the service. Can’t wait to go back
By far the best Italian food I’ve had in a long time! Plus, the ambiance was perfect.
Mother’s Day dinner and birthday.
Excellent food and service! Can’t wait to go back! Fettuccine with Alfredo sauce , black truffles and parmigiana cheese was unreal. Grilled octopus appetizer one of the best I have had. Did not care for the caprese salad. Tomatoes were not the in season beef tomatoes so would not recommend it. Overall great experience!
We go to Roberto’s quite regularly
The food is always good
Specials are different and excellent
Side dishes are wonderful and quite authentic
We love it
Possibly the best Italian food in ALL of NY!
We have returned here over the years and Roberto's keeps up its quality of food and service.
My only complaint was they would not seat me until my husband arrived and it was VERY noisy. LOUD table next to us which almost ruined the experience for me. If I had had "some" modicum of quiet I would have enjoyed it much more. But the pinot grigio and meal was lovely.
I have been here several times and have never been disappointed. Everything is delicious.
Great atmosphere and good food. Cocktails were really good too. Waiter was fantastic and knew what he was doing....gave great suggestions. The wine aerator was cool looking....we had lots of red wine and closed the place.😉
Service was exceptional. Food delicious!
Outstanding experience. Terrific service and fantastic meal prepared to our specifications. A real gem in a very competitive neighborhood for Italian restaurants. #1 Arthur Avenue spot in my book.
Everything you want in authentic Italian cuisine and service. Can't beat it!
Excited to try this highly recommended Arthur Ave. classic and we weren’t disappointed. The service was impeccable and the food was delicious, old favorites with new twists. The only negative was the parking, pretty impossible. We felt fortunate to find a spot after driving around for 20 minutes. Next time we’ll Uber.
Past its prime. Food used to be good - now it's tired and sagging. Our table was within stench of the lavatory - kind of disgusting.
The only thing wrong is how loud it is. Otherwise food and service is excellent.
Good food. Brusque service. Been here many times, but it’s reached a point where I’m tired of being yelled at by waiters.
So noisy that you couldn't hear anything.
Food was very fair
Quite honestly, I don't know why all the hype about Roberto's. Friends rave and so, while in the Bronx for a visit to the Botanical Garden, we figured we stop in for a bite.
Upon entering we were barely acknowledged, much less greeted.
Dinner was disappointing starting with the Salumi and Fromage appetizer. Two slices of tough prosciutto, four slices of salami, some small chunks of parmigiana reggiano, and several slices of what appeared to be and tasted like Swiss cheese. Really??!!
My husband ordered the seafood risotto - overcooked seafood with dry clumpy rice.
I ordered the branzino, which was good and well prepared, but dished up on a cold plate and served lukewarm.
Glad we tried it, but we won't be back.
I loved the grilled octopus and my husband loved his entree but I did not love mine. I ordered Chilean sea bass, it was bland and covered with too much sauce. If I go back I will definetely not order that dish again.
So glad you are taking reservations now, another special fabulous meal in the Arthur Avenue neighborhood
• Amazing food. We had a pasta baked in tin foil with black truffle and mushrooms that was outstanding. We also had a pasta in a veal ragu with shaved almonds that we enjoyed, but next to the first pasta, the ragu was clearly in second place. As our main, we shared a chicken dish over cherry peppers that was delicious and the house super Tuscan, by the glass as we were driving.
• Great service. The service was on point, and our waiter was very knowledgable about the menu and spot on with recommendations.
• Poor seating. Seated by the bathroom downstairs (arguable the worst two top in the place). If you book on OpenTable, in the notes section, make sure that you insist upon not being seated there.
• Loud. The waiters are loud, which I found to be a plus because I got to hear the specials more than once. If you are looking for a quiet, romantic evening, however, this is not your best bet. The acoustics of the place are not very forgiving, and loud sounds from conversation to music to kitchen noise travel throughout.
Overall, the dining experience was very nice, and the food more than makes up for any shortcomings. To be clear, however, this is an "occasion" restaurant, as our bill for two crept close to $200 after tax and tip. If this were about 35% cheaper, and if we had been seated away from the restroom, I would probably let the critiques of the ambiance slide altogether.
Great! Beautiful place.
Robertos never fails. The food is fabulous and we always get the pasts special
Amazing, authentic, unique Italian food a little off the main strip in Arthur Ave. Homemade pasta is well prepared in interesting combination and sauces. Highly recommend an appetizer, shared pasta course and then an entrée
Roberto's is an iconic place in the Belmond/Arthur Avenue of the Bronx! Best italian food outside Italy!! Worth the drive to find a spectacular offering away from the tourist (and often terrible) traps in Manhattan! A must if you want to have GREAT food and SUPERB experience!!
The location has been extremely consistent since its opening a block away 30 years ago!!
EXTREMELY consistent with creative pasta, risotto , meat, chicken and, seafood dishes.
ENJOY!!!! Buon Apetito!!
