It was very busy as it was a Friday night. Our table was on the other side of a divider. The two top next to us felt like they were sitting with us. I ordered the #1 swordfish served very dry. The other chicken cannelloni was good as the short rib of beef was good. It is a hot spot due to location. It’s noisy in dining area. Not a romantic place. Not that we were there for that , just commenting.
The chicken in the chicken Marsala was a bit tough and grizzly. We were very pleased last year when we came and that is why we came back but not sure if we will come back again.
The only thing keeping Roberto's from a five-star rating was that my chicken parmesan was very thin and overcooked. Other than that we had a great time and will give them another chance. Alex, our waiter, was attentive, friendly, and allowed us time to pace ourselves.
Roberto’s is a charming well decorated restaurant on Shore Rd in Ogunquit. Our reservation was for four people at 6:00pm; we had tickets to a show and explained that to our waitress. Upon entering and at the hostess stand, a couple who had a later reservation asked if they could be seated now. The hostess tried to satisfy their request, which took a little time, while others with reservations waited to be acknowledged and seated.
We had a lovely waitress. We ordered our drinks, then ordered salads to share and our entrees. The drinks and salads arrived quickly, however, the entrees did not. We had to remind our server of our play.
Three of us had the seafood diabalo and one had chicken saltimbocca. While it was fairly good, the diabalo sauce was bland and did not have the spice or kick normally associated with this dish.
Our main complaint would have to be the noise level....very difficult to hear or speak with the person next to or across from you.
I would go again, but I enjoy the bar area more.
Food and service were excellent as always. My son and I go every year for a birthday celebration. Wouldn't go anywhere else.
We love Roberto's !! We visit Ogunquit 2 or 3 times a year and have stopped going out anywhere else for dinner. The menu is great, plenty of different seafood and Italian options. One of our favorite appetizers is Oysters Rockefeller. It is the best I have ever had ! The Osso Bucco and Veal Saltimbocca is also a great choice.
The service was slow. There was a lengthy wait between courses. The food was subpar. The carpaccio was like roast beef. The prosciutto was like thick cut ham... definitely domestic, not imported. The eggplant parmigiana was overcooked and difficult to cut through. The diablo sauce was sweet, not spicy. Not good Italian food overall, but our kids liked the pizza and meatballs.
Always a great experience. Wonderful food, atmosphere and service.
The waitress was a French girl who knew service...she let us enjoy dinner, did not rush us and made good suggestions...the food was good
Absolutely delicious meal start to finish. A dining spot not to miss in Ogunquit!
Wait staff was extremely friendly! Authentic Italian with a large range of flavors!
Our 2nd time there...waitstaff was very efficient and friendly! Great spot that we were looking forward too when we made our hotel reservations ! No trip to Ogunquit would be complete without dinner at Roberto’s!!! We will enjoy dinner there again in the future!
Being a local, I have dined there several times. Food is always delicious and service is top notch.
Was on a mini vacation and found food and service were great
Had nine family members on vacation meet for some great food and atmosphere and Roberto’s delivered. The place is nicely furnished, the staff was awesome and the food was great.
The entire experience was wonderful. We had made a reservation and were seated immediately. The services was outstanding!! as was the food. The only negative is the noise level that really seems to be caused by just so many people as the ceilings are not high and there are things to absorb the sound.
W would definitely go back.
Pretty good Italian fare. Service is a bit slow but it’s a vacation town.
The best Italian in town! Great food, attentive and friendly staff and proprietor and a super environment. I love taking friends and family to Roberto’s—always a pleasant experience.
Amazing menu, mouth watering food! Oysters Rockefeller were incredible. Our party of four ordered the lobster risotto, seafood scampi, rack of lamb, and the chicken saltamboca. It is rare for every one of us to feel that our meals exceeded our expectations! It was so tasty that we had to share bites with each other. Portions were satisfying and everyone left with a full belly. Ambiance was perfect. Not too noisy not too quiet. Casual dress or dress it up. Either will fit in just fine. Not one to rate an experience 5 stars too easily, but this one is 5+. Well done Roberto’s!!
As always, everyone enjoyed their meal. Roberto’s has an extensive menu that offers a wide variety of Italian food. We always look forward to a visit their on vacation
Dinner was good a little bit noisy but not over tok bad
Very very loud. Screaming guests with no correction by the staff. We were there for our anniversary and could not talk to each other.
Had a great meal here. Good authentic Italian cooking, with an Italian mother in law I know what I am talking about. The Lobster risotto was a revelation. Really good home made cannoli. Also had the best Negroni cocktail ever. I understand what some other reviews mean about the noise level. It was OK for us until the loudest woman in the universe arrived and shouted so loud a man on the opposite table nearly had a heart attack. Things settled down so maybe the staff are getting better at keeping things "energetic" rather than boisterous. Would definitely go again.
Excellent Food and Service. There are many choices in the area but this one is superb. A must try.
My family was very disappointed. Our server was good but due to crowded conditions and a table that was very difficult we had little attention. The food was not good because it was so over salted it was difficult to eat. 3 of us ordered 2 bottles of AquaPanna just to manage to get our food down. I had so been looking forward to the meal because the restaurant was rated well and the menu looked great.
We have visited Ogunquit for many years now and never ate at Roberto's. Now we know what we were missing!!! Deliscious food, nice atmosphere, great waiters, waitresses, side help,hostess...
Valet parking. Relaxed but well-trained and efficient waitstaff. My lobster and pappardelle special was excellent. Decent and well priced wine list. My wife and I go there regularly and love it.
Great food and service.
Would definitely recommend this restaurant.
Fantastic food. Fresh, sauces delicious. Try the light lemon cake for dessert. Waiter forgot our appetizer, quite slow and had to call him over several times for water glass refill. Not super attentive. However food arrived hot, pasta perfectly cooked al sentence so kitchen is on the mark and fantastic! Go here on our annual trip to Ogunquit!
Overall good, but we chose Robertos because the Menu listed on Open Table shows a Pizza menu, as well as, the regular menu. When we asked about the pizza menu when we arrived, we were told it was not available.
Strange as this might sound [read]. I ordered Chicken paremesan and my husband ordered eggplant parmesan. 3/4 through the meal I said to myself ...this really doesn't taste like chicken! So what they did is they switched our meals. When I confronted the waitress, who was very nice....and showed her that I had the eggplant...she said she asked me when it was served...which she never did. The ambiance is noisy...they play music but you really can't hear it because of the noise factor. I am not going back
Birthday dinner. Wonderful service from Michael. Great experience and delicious meal.
Great Italian restaurant. I LOVE the chicken piccata. There is a lot to choose from and we have never had a bad meal there.
Good food. Valet parking. We reserved and we were seated right away. Good traditional Italian food. Great garlic bread!
Lovely dinner. Nice ambiance. Wedge salad (big enough to share) , rack of lamb, seafood fra diavlo were delicious. Michael our server was very helpful. We recommend Roberto’s for a good meal and nice evening.
Roberto's is one of our very favorite restaurants and it never disappoints! Wonderful atmosphere, great service, and an unbeatable of delicious and creative dishes. The Bolognese is unbelievable!!
Nous y allons depuis plusieurs années lors de nos visites à Ogunquit.
