Roast was amazing! Best filet mignon I’ve ever had! Everything was good, including the wine. A must!
I'm sorry to report that we were mildly disappointed with the Roast. The friendliest person during our visit was the valet. When we first arrived we were seated at the farthest end of the restaurant . We asked to be moved and were accommodated but not in a very friendly manner. Our waiter was proficient but acted as if he had better things to do than wait our table. I'm pulling for Detroit in a big way and that's why we drove 60 miles to get there. The food was good not great. Our bill was 300+ for 4 people plus tip. Expensive but not overly so if... the staff is great you get a personable waiter and the food is great. Step your game up Roast if you want repeat customers.
I've been to Roast about a half dozen times. Each time, it was excellent. It was equally excellent this time, however the price had increased. I felt that the cost of our meals were much too high for what we ate and drank, as well as being much higher than in the past. I have no objection to paying for a good meal and good service, but this time, it was too much.
Sorry.
Magical date night! Amazing service, wonderful food, romantic ambiance
The service was great although we did have to wait a while for our food we appreciated our waiter letting us know of the wait time ahead of time, he was very attentive to our needs and friendly. All the meals we ordered were extremely over salted, and very over priced...very disappointing... great ambiance but we will only go back for drinks when we come back to stay at the Westin.
Phenomenal service, great wine and food A+
One of our best food we ate since we arrived in Detroit (1 year).
Congrats, its very good. People was so nice. thanks we had a wonderful time.
Food was outstanding! Mussel appetizer probably the best we have had. Scallops were exceptional. Steak was delicious and a very generous size. Mushroom soup and coconut sorbet were great. Great service!
Great service and WONDERFUL food! Love Michael Symon’s creations.
Food was amazing and service was even better, well worth the money!
Great service!
Beyond awesome!! Food, service and atmosphere were all top notch! Loved it!!
Excellent for smoky, grill-crusted meats. When seated near the kitchen, the fluorescent light pours in right into your eyes, more than offsets the other nice lighting in the dining room and kills the atmosphere. But there has to be an easy fix for that!
Informative staff that attend to you very well. Food perfectly cooked and delicious. Drink menu is daring and well worth it. Highly recommend.
My lobster spaghetti was excellent. My friend's strip steak was done perfectly, though we both thought it had been oversalted. The ceasar salad was also excellent, but the marrow appetizer, which I'd heard so much about, was so salty that I didn't enjoy it. The wine selection is excellent, and the service was excellent.
Kevin our server was awesome!
A bit disappointing. No plated presentation and at a high end restaurant such as Roast a little more attention to detail goes a long way. Being served a piece of filet mug on with neither sauce or a green on the plate appeared thoughtless and very uncreative. Lacked ambience and energy. With all of the more unique and newer restaurants popping up in the D and with amazing classics such as Joe Muer’s which is consistently outstanding in both service and quality Roast needs to step up their game.
Fantastic food and service. Great for celebrating or just a great meal on the town
Wow! Food was great, service was perfect and the atmosphere was super. We had a great time and would love to return.
Food was wonderful. Great service. Michelle was excellent
The waitress was a true professional, with excellent recommendations. The teak was one of the best I've ever had.
Overall fabulous!
We enjoyed our Easter dinner at the Roast, everything was perfect. We can’t wait to have a reason to go back for another celebration.
We treated family to dinner. My Branzino was burned and over salted. My husband received a different cut of meat that was over cooked, other than what he ordered. Also, my moms lobster was tough and she had to spit it out in a napkin when no one was looking. Everything was too salty. It was $400 meal for four people and should have been excellent.
We went as a family for mom's birthday. The restaurant is pricey, so be expected to spend quite a bit of money. BUT well worth it. The food was all excellent.
Recently dined here with my mother- she is a huge fan of Michael symon. We started with the oysters which they were very tiny and disappointing. We each ordered filets and they were cooked perfectly and the flavor was sooo tender- We also split the Brussels sprouts and walnuts as a side dish and they were fantastic as well. I would def recommend if you are the mood for a quality piece of meat! Will go back again!
This place was amazing my wife and I had a great time
It was very lively at the bar area. The happy hour is one of the better in Detroit.
Great location. great food. Loved the service. Courteous and understanding.
Our table was ready when expected and the service was great with perfect timing. The beef cheek pierogies were fantastic and the ribeye was the best steak I've ever eaten.
Another great dinner! Lobster appetizer was amazing, Brussel sprouts are always wonderful! By far my favorite place for a Filet, far exceeds Ruth’s Chris & Morton’s. Only 4/5 for ambience since we were sandwiched inbetween two other parties, way too close.
We had a great experience with our server Brandon. He knew every detail of the menu and brought great service to a wonderful evening.
My scallops were very good. My husband had the half a chicken and it was all dark meat, so he got the bottom half I guess. We had a good time. The service was good too.
Wonderful experience! The food and drinks were delicious! Awesome customer service.
Roast was better than advertised. Every course was better than expected and the house specialty Pork Chop was absolutely amazing. Our server Ted took great care of us and will definitely be coming back!
Great food, Great service
Great food
Business dinner before red wings game. Steak was perfect and the service was top shelf. Will be back
Fillet mignon though cooked perfect was terribly over salted. Branzino was over cooked, flesh was dry and stuck to the skin.
We really wanted to like this place, but overall we were thoroughly disappointed. My fiancee and I visited for our two year anniversary. I must say the service was outstanding, but the food was not. I ordered the Ribeye, and my fiancee got the 9 OZ Filet. Both of these steaks were tough. For $50+ a steak, I would expect it to be like butter. Our meatball appetizer was great, and we did enjoy our salads. As for sides, the crispy potatoes were way too sweet, the mushrooms were good, and the Brussel sprouts were burnt. If we do come back, it may just be for an appetizer and a few drinks. We definitely will not be returning for steak.
