Outstanding! Loved everthing from appetizers to deserts. Amazing food and cocktails. Try the sidepiece cocktail! The new york strip was amazing and the white beans with escarole are addicting. Just superb!
The server Michael made my birthday a great experience with his knowledge of the menu and specials for the day. Plus he recommended meals that I ended up getting, so i was very satisfied. Even satisfied with the staff and how friendly every one was.
I have eaten at Lola and now Roast and both were great experiences. Had the muscles and fries as an appetizer. The broth was excellent as were the tiny morsels of Italian sausage mixes with incredibly tender, tasty and large muscles. The Pork T Bone was tender and juicy topped with apple flavor soaked onions. Amazing meal.
Superb service and great food. Creative use of fresh herbs like the rosemary frites! Meatball appetizer was special as well.
The lamb was fabulous. My friend ordered the scallops - amazing. We also shared the spinach and feta. Sooo good. The peanut butter dessert was also very tasty. I would definitely return to this restaurant.

Excellent service from Brandon. We were in town for 4 days and looking for a wonderful spot to eat. The food was amazing. Bronzino, hanger steak, Brussel sprouts - simply divine. 10/10. The piece de resistance - the lemon bomb dessert. Love!
My boyfriend took me here for my birthday and it was perfect! Everything looked beautiful and the service was great! The food was AMAZING! We both got steaks with potatoes and carrots on the side and it was absolutely delicious! HIGHLY reccomend for couples looking for a nice night out! It is a little expensive, but it’s worth every penny!

Great dinner celebrating our daughter in law’s birthday. Cocktails were a good pour. Appetizers of Beef cheek pierogi and mussels with fries were good. The 4 of us spilt 2 ribeye steaks and they were the highlight of the evening. We also split an order of lobster spaghetti and enjoyed it .
For dessert we had an order of thin minty ice cream and we all liked it .
Our waitress Michelle was informative and attentive.

Everything about the restaurant was absolutely exquisite. HOWEVER, the Westin valet service was confusing and almost nightmare-ish. It was confusing because it wasn’t clear about what you had to do. You pay for your valet in a different place than where you dropped it off, and then you pick up your car in a different, THIRD location. Not only that, it took over 30 minutes to get our car. Meanwhile we were not sure if they even remembered our car. We finished dinner an hour before our show and we were late to our show because of it. Either Westin needs to get their act together or diners should plan for this.
The meat was not cooked has requested, have to send it back. This ruined the occasion of eating along with my family. Completely unacceptable for this kind of restaurant. Although the service was excellent and try to fixed the problem promptly, this is just another regular steakhouse.

An incredible dining experience! We had a quiet booth located in an intimate area of the restaurant. Service was impeccable: friendly, prompt and knowledgeable. We went the "little plates" route: sharing three apps and the ribeye steak. The appetizers were tremendous (chicken livers were her favorite, beef pierogies were mine; we both loved the bone marrow) and the steak was a beautiful piece of dry-aged beef, perfectly prepared. The side dishes are offered family style and were delicious. A bit pricey, but definitely worth it!!
My wife and I went there for our 8th Anniversary earlier this week. The waitress was nice and the staff was helpful. The food was great and the cocktails that I ordered were delicious. To be honest, I could cook a better steak at home. There was a huge piece of tendon on my steak and it took too much effort to cut around it considering the price of the meal. I was a butcher for 5 years and I know for a fact that the steak was not trimmed properly. My wife got the pork chop which was absolutely delicious. I could easily make a better steak, but I definitely couldn't re-create the pork chop. The place is very quite and dark. Perfect for a romantic dinner. We had two glasses of wine, 2 cocktails, 3 sides, 2 starters, and 2 entrees and our bill came out to about $350. Overall, I probably won't be coming back unless it is a special occasion. Not because of the price point, but because the setting (no music/very dark) seemed more for a romantic/special occasion.
As always Roast was exceptional. This time I brought a friend who had never experienced Roast. He was impressed with the ambiance. His drink was chilled to perfection and his meal was superb. I'm confident in saying that Roast has gained another customer!
We were looking for a steakhouse for after-theater dinner. So glad we chose Roast. Both the food and service were excellent. Very upscale restaurant with a casual vibe.
Your servers work hard and aim to please. I was disappointed with the manager. He was very visable but never approached diners to inquire about their meals. Since we paid a little over $400.00, a simple hello from him would have been nice.
Excellent restaurant. You wont regret to order the brussels sprouts and creamy polenta. Very tasty!

My husband and I really wanted to like this restaurant. For the price, the steak and scallops were horrible. I can make better steak at home. We definitely won’t be returning.
We were celebrating my dad's 71st b day, and they sat us in the private room. the food was amazing and the service matched the food! We did have a Vegan with us for dinner and they accommodated her and made a meal for her that was outstanding. Thank you-
We took our parents for their 60 th anniversary. Overall it was very good. My mother did not like the green pesto looking sauce on the roasted chicken. My sister in law found alumin foil in her salad. She brought it to their attention and the manager showed the the chef. But we still paid for everything. No compensation at all. The steaks were the filets were the best. My dad had the pork chop which he said was really good. Over all great place.
This restaurant will exceed any expectations that you may have. The staff were all very welcoming, attentive and friendly. Everything we ate was top notch, and I enjoyed one of best filet mignons of my life. It was a nice walk to The Fox Theatre afterwards. Worth every penny. I will definitely be back.
Just a friendly tip: pay for the hotel valet parking, and you can just walk back to the restaurant after many great events that take place down on Woodward Ave.
Amazing food, great service one of the best restaurants in Detroit.
Service was great, limited list of craft cocktails, decent wine list, kinda pricey for quality, had to send steak back twice and salad was bitter, but manager kindly removed from bill. The pork belly app was best part. Limited dessert menu. Very dark, quiet and little ambiance or cool vibe. Did it once, probably not again, as I’m not sure how they won the accolades.
Everything was absolutely amazing
The food was very good, the Apple salad could have used a bit more cheese. My wine was corked, the server said it was funky, but exchanged it for another that wasn't paired with my meal. The support staff (water, food delivery)was excellent, but the server didn't ask if we wanted to take the leftovers with us.
This restaurant and its Menu are not accommodating to customers that don't eat pork or alcohol based recipes. The majority of the items had pork, fried in pork grease or had alcohol. Thought the ice cream would be safe, it was drenched with Vodka.
Server not very informative or accommodating to diet restrictions. Considering Detroit is extremely diverse.
The food that was ordered was good, just would of been nice to have more options.

Took my husband out for a nice dinner for his 5 yr anniversary with his work. And it was such a great experience. Our waiter Ken was so nice and helpful seeing as that was our first time there. We got a fillet steak and it was great. For desert we got the butterscotch peanut butter pie and it was divine! Can’t wait to go back!
Outstanding restaurant and service! Our server, Michelle, was wonderful! It happened to be restaurant week, so the four of us opted for the restaurant week menu and wine pairing - it was awesome! Our favorites were the mussels, scallops, brussel sprouts, and pork chops...and the wine. That's not to say the apple salad and hangar steak weren't good, but the other were simply outstanding! We will be back.
My husband I had our first meals at Roast during restaurant week in Detroit. The food was phenomenal, and so was the service. Kevin B. provided us with exceptional service by being right on top of taking care of us and not being obtrusive. I had the mussels for the appetizer, the scallop as the entree and the sorbet for desert with the wine pairings. YUM on all aspects. We will return for another date night in Detroit!
Was a fantastic meal. Was spaced out to allow us to truly enjoy the evening. Our server Greg did a great job and was very attentive to all details.
I decided to drop in during restaurant week, and was very glad that I did. While the concept is great, frequently participants only offer dishes that are not the most desirable and or very small portions. Roast provided a nice assortment of choices, and certainly didn't skimp on the portions. The mussel appetizer was the size of a meal in and of itself. Served in the french style topped with fries, it was excellent, as was my pork chop. The Bar, a deconstructed s'more was a delicious dessert that I did not need but thoroughly enjoyed. I am very glad I went back.
