Made reservations for four and arrived early to be sure seating wouldn’t be a problem. Sign on door said restaurant was closed until further notice due to Covid. Who took my reservation? Terrible customer service!! Will never try to eat there again.!!
We made a reservation for New Years and the restaurant was completely shut down. They even had a New Years menu and plan. This ruined our night
Truly enjoyed my evening at Roast. The ambiance is sexy and perfect for date night. The food and service was great. We will definitely be back. By the way, the Brussel Sprouts with walnuts were absolutely delicious!
Food and service were top notch. Also very Covid compliant.

Wife and I went to Roast for our 10th Anniversary. Even during the reservation process, notified them that it was our anniversary and looking for something special (either romantic table or a gesture by the staff) and was sadly disappointed. After being seated at a table directly next to the kitchen and the A/C vent blowing on us, we asked to move which they accommodated one table over. Server brought over a menu and stated that it was the beer/wine, but almost disappointed that he had to be there. Meals were good and for being ranked #4 restaurant in Detroit, good was not what we were there to eat!
Started off with the marrow and beet salad which were both on the meh side of taste. Marrow was overly salty and relied more on presentation than overall taste of the dish. Beet salad was good but the "highlight" was the balsamic that was mentioned by our server which was extremely lacking.
Wife ordered the Pork Chops and I ordered the Filet with Crab-Bernaise sauce for our entrees. Her meal was good, but was overly salted which was hard to get over. My filet was cooked as ordered, but the Crab-Bernaise was a slightly drizzle with one piece of crab about 2" long.....surely not worth the money that was paid for it.
Desserts we ordered the Smores and the "special" of cookie with cereal ice cream. Both were good, but again nothing to save our experience. Cookie was nothing more than an oversized cookie that was burnt on the edges and soft in the middle.
It was not until the desserts were served was it even acknowledged that it was our anniversary or anything special done besides the 2" round "Happy Anniversary" chocolate that was also disappointing.
Overall, for $250 meal, we've had better and I'd recommend against going to Roast again in the future.
The food was very good, the sevice very good, but the menu was limited, maybe 1/3 of normal because of the Covid business decrease.
It was mostly a few steak selections.
This is One of my favorite restaurants in the city!

Never a bad meal at Roast.
This may have been the best overall meal I have been served in a restaurant. The service was outstanding the food was phenomenal from the appetizers To the dessert. It is pricey but worth the price for the dining experience!!!

It was our 50th anniversary so we wanted a special experience to celebrate it. Our son arranged the dinner at Roast and we could not have been more pleased with the entire experience. The meals we had were outstanding and the staff was excellent. Unlike some places nothing was rushed and the pace of our meals was perfect and again the food was outstanding. My Ribeye was cooked perfectly and my wife said her Salmon was the best she has ever had.
We had the best time. The food was amazing. Ken was excellent. This is our third Michael Symon restaurant and our favorite by far! We will be back again!
excellent service from the Roast team, very friendly and prompt! our meat and fish was cooked to perfection and the sides- amazing brussels sprouts and truffle fries. great wine recommendations too
Brussel sprouts (which were highly recommended) had WAY too much vinegar& were not crispy. The ribeye was not juicy and tender. However, lamb ragu was delicious! The waiter started off fantastic & didn't follow up once we really started eating our meal.
Enjoyed our evening. Food was impeccable and service top notch. Highly recommend

This is a really great restaurant.... romantic and a nice upscale place to dine in after work.
Now I know why Roast is consistently rated #1 steakhouse in Michigan. Steak was the best I've ever had, it melted like butter. Definitely worth the splurge!!

We went for a birthday dinner and had a wonderful time. We had the bone marrow, filet with crab bearnaise, New York strip, and toffee ice cream. The food was delicious; the bone marrow was very unique with chimichurri sauce, our steaks were cooked perfectly, and the flavor was amazing. All very generous portions. Our service was impeccable, never overbearing but still very present. With COVID, the tables are very spaced out, which makes the restaurant feel just a little cold and empty, but that’s to be expected during these times. Hands-down the best steaks we have had in Metro Detroit. We had a fantastic experience and would definitely come again.

I have been waiting for the opportunity to dine at one of Chef Symon's establishments. It was worth the wait! EVERYTHING was spot on and delicious! I will definitely be back.
This was by far the best meal I have ever had I had the filet with crab bearanaise and Brussels spouts and mashed potatoes ❤️ The best meal I have had in my 31 years would give 10 stars if I could.
This restaurant as always is outstanding. The Filet Mignon was cooked to perfection and seasoned out of this world! The mashed potatoes on the side were heavenly. Everything from soup to nuts was wonderful. You pay for that though so be willing to drop a lot of money if you dine here. For us it was a special occasion and for that it was well worth it.

It was so nice to be at Roast again. It was my first martini of the year! The food was delicious as always, would love to see steak tartare on the menu.
Delicious food, great service. Ambience is kinda sterile, chairs could use an update--seat cushions saggy. Wouldn't hesitate to go again!
