Good overall experience.
French onion soup was the only regret, but server took it off the bill as soon we mentioned it.

Enjoyed our meal. Service was wonderful from valet, to front door, to waitstaff. Food was delicious and presented beautifully. Lamb a bit overcooked. Salmon and scallops perfect. Costly.

AMAZING. Our server was phenomenal. Food & drinks were outstanding. We would love to return again or at least recommend to others as often as we can! Thank you for helping make my husband’s birthday a truly memorable one

Our visit this time was to celebrate my birthday. I truly enjoy Roast and it lived up to expectations. Michelle, our server, was attentive but not intrusive. She reminded us that policy is to allow steaks to rest after cooking and before serving, and staged our meal accordingly. Drinks were well crafted from an extensive selection. Appetizers were superbly prepared and presented. We shared bay scallops and Roast marrow, perfectly done. We each had a beef entree, one filet mignon and one dry aged ribeye. Each was perfectly seasoned and cooked to our preference, helped by Michelle's description of restaurant cooking standards. Sides were Roast rosemary French fries and roasted Brussels sprouts. We took home enough for another full meal. While we passed on dessert, since we were comfortably full, Michelle brought a small birthday surprise, which topped off this special meal.

Steaks were tough and overpriced. Other entrees and appetizers were very good. A la carte sides make the total meal price excessively high given the quality of the food we recieved. Won't be going back here with so many great restaurants to choose from.

Perfect filet... and for a steak place, perfect scallops! The spinach side was not too cheesy, and the dessert was fantastic!
Would recommend this restaurant anytime, but it is pricey

The food was amazing, layers of flavor in every bite. Spinach ay gratin was incredible, filet crab bernaise was unbelievable good. The least favorite dish was the crispy potatoes, and they were still tasty. The service and ambience were outstanding. The noise level was on the high side. I am looking forward to the next special occasion in my life so I can go back!

Experience was outstanding. Main course, filet mignon was cooked to perfection. Sides were excellent. Servers were very friendly, helpful, and accommodating. It was a great dining experience for my wife and me!!

Our service and food were incredible. We ordered the porterhouse for 2 and the meat was cooked to perfection. We couldn’t decide between side dishes and our server recommended the crispy potatoes and the Brussel sprouts. They were amazing as well. The restaurant itself lacks ambiance but overall, we would return on just the food and service alone!

Great place. Roast definitely gives other celebrity chef restaurants a run for their money. I would highly recommend it!

The filet was awesome. Extremely tender and exactly how a filet should be served. Make sure you get it with the crab!

Even though we were in the mood for a classic steak house meal, this one disappointed me. Food was fine but not outstanding, service was ok but kind of neglectful, everything seemed too expensive. Would not recommend.

Dishes and decor similar to Lola with some Lolita favorites as well, but lacking the exceptional service I would expect at the flagship. But hey, it's Detroit, and so much better than the Pure Michigan alternatives.

Enjoyed everything in the meal except for the "French Onion" Soup. It had a peculiar taste (I thought) from a traditional French Soup but the Lamb Shanks were to die for. Large, and so much so, that we both went out of the restaurant walking very slow as to not disturb our meals, for fear of rupturing our intestines (in a good way). Dessert was great. The Sorbets are scrumptious. Service was excellent. May have been a touch too dark towards the evening and just a bit more room light would have been preferable, but all and all, I will return.

We ate at Roast after a long weekend of moving my mother, and we really needed some quality me time. We were not disappointed! We were a bit disappointed about being seated in the bar, but in the end it didn’t really matter. The food was outstanding, and the service was better. Thank You Michelle. After our meal, we went into the restaurant to look around. Everyone was happy to show us the grill and explain how they used it. We did have fun.
The steaks were perfectly charred outside and perfectly cooked inside (like magic). If you go, have the bar desert, the homemade ice cream is to die for.

A fine choice for a professional level experience. Our server Greg was very polished; he knew when to come by to ask how we were doing and when to leave us be. The bartender made a Gin martini that ties for the best we have had downtown (and we have tried at least 20 places). The filet mignon was ordered Blue and it came EXACTLY how it should be done. The rub on the beef was so tasty that I had to make myself slow down and enjoy each bite. The appetizers of Marrow and Chicken livers were succulent and surprisingly tasty to one who was a bit hesitant to try them. Sides are large and we could have only ordered one, although their taste was so unique I was happy to take home the extra! The dessert was a selection of chocolate and marshmallow items, and was enough to share. We sat in the room with the bar, and while it was nice I will like to try the other dining area next time---and there will surely be a next time!

Great experience, food was amazing and service was even better. Michelle was wonderful, she’s well versed and menu and ingredient, took time to explain and accommodate dietary restrictions. Must try the branzino if you like seafood... absolutely delish! If I were to make one suggestion, it would be to expand or diversify the dessert menu, but what we had was still great!

Unfortunately the food/menu was disappointing. The restaurant has nice decor but it’s too dark and over priced. I feel it’s survival is only due to its name but offers lack luster flavored entrees. There are no plans in my future to return.

Our server, Amy, was incredible. Ask for her if you go! Steaks - quite tasty, but a bit too salty/over seasoned. Creamy Polenta, Mac & Cheese and Mushroom sides were average. Beef Cheek Pierogie appetizer was quite tasty, but the carpaccio wasn’t a big hit at the table. Fantastic wine selections. I’d go again just to enjoy Amy’s service!

Food was so delicious. Wild boar ragu was meaty and the pasta was perfectly cooked. The steaks were tender, juicy, and perfectly cooked. The bone marrow was amazing with the citrus herb topping. Service was on point.
