The Roaring Fork's Wood Fired Cooking captures the spirit of bold American cuisine, creating flavors that crackle with a rugged edge. In the Old West, the best food was prepared on a simple wood fire. This same spirit, freshness and flavor are at the heart of every dish we serve.View Private Dining Details
Food and service were great!
Everyone in our party enjoyed their menu choices. Our server, Rue, was wonderful. We ask for her everytime we come to Roaring Fork. She is so natural and genuine. Thanks.
Great spot to meet friends for a terrific dinner.
Every time we come to Scottsdale we have at least one dinner at Roaring Fork. The food never disappoints and the service is always excellent. The green chili mac and cheese is a favorite, as well as the fish tacos and pork tenderloin.
Beautiful restaurant. We were catching up with relatives and even though the restaurant was very crowded, conversation was not a problem. I had the salmon which was delicious. Our waitress recommended the pecan pie for dessert which was outstanding.
We were in Scottsdale for Spring Training and wanted to try a new spot. Saw the great reviews of Roaring Fork and made the reservation. FANTASTIC experience from atmosphere/ambiance, service and food!! Our server Amy was awesome and provided an amazing experience. Would highly recommend for anyone looking for a wonderful dining experience! Cheers
Food was delicious! We had the filet mignon and the green chili mac and cheese was DELICIOUS! A must try when visiting Scottsdale.
Dined on a Saturday night during Spring Training. Very busy staff but they kept up with everything. No time for chit chat though. One of the best fillets for the money I’ve ever had. The sides were amazing. Recommend the crab fried rice. Amazing. Top rate cocktails. Only small negative was no draft beer, only bottles. We will return.
the best trout and trout preparation outside of Idaho. It is so good I have never tried anything else.
Great meal! Perfectly tender steak - delicious spinach side
This was our second visit in one month. The first time the food was very good.
The second time one dish (trout) was mediocre. The fried buttermilk chicken
was over cooked and sent back. The service was so so.
A little loud but food and service were excellent.
Very reasonable prices for both food and alcohol.
We had a terrible experience with our service. We waited over 5 minutes to be greeted. When the rest of our party showed up, after 5 minutes we had to search for our waiter to order drinks. We had to go find him several minutes later when we wanted to order. He never came back and asked us anything about our meal.
I had brought in a dessert and I gave the dessert to our waiter when we first arrived. I asked him to put the dessert on a plate and the candles when we were ready for dessert. Again, we had to go find him. I asked to speak to the Manager. A gentleman came out of the kitchen. I told him how dissatisfied we were with the service. That’s when he started in on me telling me no one has ever brought in a dessert with candles. I told him I called the restaurant earlier that day and was told it wAs ok to bring in a dessert.
Our reservation was for 5:30, and I think we got out of there after 8:00 pm because of all the waiting around. Other servers kept apologizing, but our server never did. He wasn’t a good server at all, which made for a bad experience.
We have dined at The Roaring Fork 5-6 times in the last year. This was our last, as we will not dine there or recommend it again.
We were met with a smile by the hostess when we entered. She quickly arranged for us to be sat at a table. Our guide walked as a reasonable pace and conversed about how my day was today. We were quickly given fresh, warm bread and water. Our waiter Chase introduced himself to be our drink order. He was very nicely groomed and spoke well. The service was nicely paced so as to be relaxing. The food was the correct temperature and was appealing to the eyes. Our table was quickly cleared when we were done. The bill was brought promptly and was correct.
Always amazing. One of my favorites here in Phoenix. Have been coming for many years and it is always consistent in terms of food, margaritas, service and ambiance!
I have been dining at the Roaring Fork for many years and I have never been disappointed. I usually order the Trout. It is perfectly prepared. The employees are friendly and the service is outstanding.
Fabulous, food, service was outstanding. Bathroom was disgusting worse I've ever seen.
Fabulous place, I go there whenever I am in town from California.
Matt is the. EST waiter on the planet!
In short, it was very good but not great. I'd give the food and ambiance 4 out of 5 stars. The host, wait and table staff were impersonal and why I dropped this to 3 out of 5. In Scottsdale, and at this price point, I really expect a lot more from wait staff and customer service. Portion sizes were outatanding. Trout dish was exceptional! Big @$ burger was great! Guac, green chili pork kettle, flatbread and short rib were good but not deserving of the price tag. Reading reviews I can understand why so many of the positive write ups come from the happy hour crowd. At the discount prices these items are spot on, at premium prices you can do better elsewhere. I'd be willing to try this place again but customer service leaves a lot to be desired. Are staff indentured servants? God forbid anyone cracked a smile and seemed happy to be there. At the very least have someone at the hostess station pleasant to greet you.
Love this place. Our favorite whenever we come to Phoenix!
Great service and delicious food.
The food and the service were amazing. Amy our server recommended items and was on the money. I had the huckleberry margarita and fried chicken. My brother and sister-in-law had the trout. The corn muffins were delicious. We will go back again next year when we are in town. Thanks again to Amy she rocks.
Wonderful service. Food quality and taste were excellent.
I heard they got bought out by Darden? This was definitely not as good as the first time we went.
Roaring Fork is always a choice for Spring Training. We try to make it there at least twice. Outstanding food. The most recent trip we had the fried chicken breast with mashed potatoes and gravy and bacon wrapped pork loin with cheese grits and Mexican street corn - all excellent. If an entree doesn't include Mexican street corn, we always order it as a side. Their gelato is outstanding, as well. The butter pecan is the best I've ever had. The ancho chile flourless chocolate is great also. We have never been disappointed at this restaurant. We always recommend it to visitors to the area and always take friends and relatives who are visiting. Everyone raves.
Another outstanding meal at The Roaring Fork. Terrific food and great service. A must visit in Scottsdale.
We were in Scottsdale on vacation. We found the Roaring Fork average. The food was just ok. My date had the trout and found it dry and bland. She did not finish. I had the short ribs and found those to be pretty good. The service was very good. We would not repeat because there are other options that better suit our taste.
We were seated promptly. Service was excellent. Food was outstanding. A touch pricey for my liking but I would highly recommend.
Food was average at best. We had salmon and chicken with sausage stuffing. Both our salads were bland and not real fresh. There were tables seating groups of 5-10 people on patio so it must be a place to take groups, not recommended for a romantic evening. We would not return for uninspired, plain food.
The service was adequate, not exceptional. My appetizer, the green chili pork, came out lukewarm. The menu is generally interesting and the food fun, but it is not wonderful.
Had a great dinner with great service. We recommend Roaring Fork to anyone looking for that special place.
From the time the reservations were made to paying the bill, we experienced a great dining experience! The staff was friendly and accommodating. Our waiter was professional. The food was outstanding. When coming to Scottsdale don’t miss the opportunity to enjoy this restaurant.
The food and drinks were amazing. We tried 4 different menu items and they were all delicious. I would definitely go again.
In town ... rest and relaxation
This used to be a great place. Servers are no longer well trained. Focus on diner experience is low. Food is mediocre now, and staff and ownership seems complacent.
How can you go wrong with the roaring fork? Everything was perfect and they put us at a table in a quieter section which allow us to enjoy our friends company better.
Lacked the personal service that we were used to here. We were celebrating a special occasion and didn't get any personalized service whatsoever. Wouldn't recommend for a "special occasion ". Don't know if we'll make the effort to go back. A lot of other really good restaurant choices nearby.
This is our go-to restaurant: they are good at everything, including excellent beef and seafood, service (thank you to Danielle our server!), the best tortilla soup I have ever found, and divine desserts.
Great for a special occasion. The huckleberry margaritas were a big hit. Our group had a variety of main courses that allowed the opportunity to taste a number of dishes. Everything was well prepared, especially the duck and the pork chops. Desserts were large enough to share. The sorbet with the pecan pie was the perfect combination. Service was attentive. Some of us are big water drinkers and our glasses were refilled before being emptied.
