Roaring Fork - Scottsdale
Book your next event with us
Picked this place on Open Table while we were visiting Scottsdale,AZ on Vacation. Awesome place! Wife loved the fish tacos and I loved my Pork shoulder carnitas! Waitress was awesome and took good care of us. Will be back!
Women’s room is too small for restaurant this size. Prices are high for what you get. Wine by glass are ordinary, widely available choices. Meat was tough with weird flavoring (carnitas) trout was good. Server forgot appetizer and delivered it with entrees. Surprised by this place’s popularity and good reviews. I was left unimpressed and won’t return.
Try not to get a table next to kitchen, unless you want to hear them yelling out orders all night.
Thank you for making our anniversary dinner so special! Our first date was here and we absolutely love the food and dining experience.
It was my husband’s 89th Bday. The atmosphere and service was very nice. Food for the most part was good. My husband’s tBone steak was tough, which I can attest to because I tasted it. We like to be offered ground pepper for salads, which I know is a small thing. Dessert was yummy.
Great as always
Great waiter, Dan, food service was exceptional, we will be back
While the restaurant was very busy, the wait staff seemed overworked. Difficult to get their attention to ask for additional plates and water. Water not refilled, plates not provided for dessert at a large table when obvious all were sharing desserts. Food was excellent!
Great food and service
Great food and service!
Excellent service food staff and general managers.
Food and service is always great.
We had not been there for about a year but once we got seated we had a very good experience
As always one of our go to
Places in Scottsdale
Great restaurant and love the atmosphere. Booth for 5 people was a bit tight but we all managed. Came with parents, cousin and aunt to celebrate orthodox Christmas and everyone was great. Our server was hands on and took very good care of us. Everyone loved their food and enjoyed their time.
I ordered the rainbow trout with almonds and capers and the meal was delicious. Very well prepared and arrived to the table at the right temperature. The fish was light and perfectly seasoned, and the charred lemon wedge next to it allowed me to squeeze the right amount of juice on the fish to add a kick of citrusy flavor.
Family also enjoyed the ice cream dessert. I'm definitely coming back.
The last time we were here was about a year ago. We had an Opentable Saturday evening 7:30 reservation for a party of 4. Arriving on-time for our reservation, not knowing the massive parking lot construction going on and redirecting signs of where to park and then navigating the walk to get into the restaurant was a task. The restaurant was busy, we were seated and ended up waiting and waiting to the point I was going to get up, then our server Jessica finally came over introduced herself and then all seem to flow very slow but smoothly.
We ordered cocktails, mine to be a Cosmo which was returned due to lack of vodka and as red as pure cranberry juice. Jessica took care of that right away. We ordered the Tortilla Soup, Mussels & Chorizo, Sugar-Cured Duck Breast and the Boneless Buttermilk Fried Chicken. All the food came, fresh and hot, it just seemed to drag on, maybe the kitchen backed up. It was a wait to get drinks, a wait to get appetizers then entree's dessert and forever to get the bill.
The tortilla soup met up to it's delish standards. The Mussels were cooked perfectly but lacking the chorizo kick. The Duck was good but a tiny portion compared to past visits. The Chicken, very good. With so much competition among restaurants... maybe another year before I come back.
Atmosphere good, Food OK, Service very good.
Neighbors getting together
I guess I would recommend Roaring Fork, however it wouldn't be at the top of the list. We walked away from a casual business/friend evening with the same feeling - "meh". It was fine, but not exceptional in any way, really. Two of us had the salmon special, and one had a filet mignon and another a burger. We were in a bit of bind as we'd tried to make rezzies elsewhere and that's a challenge Saturday night at 6 in the high season, so we ended up at Roaring Fork. It was a fine dinner, just not quite in keeping with what we look forward to when going out.
Great food and great Mac and cheese
We always go to the Roaring Fork when we are in AZ. Great food and a wonderful atmosphere.
Great place. Always will go when we’re in the area
Late night dinner and was great and tasty. Definitely a KEEPER on top eateries in Scottsdale.
Enjoyed dinner here for our 30th Wedding Anniversary. It was fabulous. Our server, Roo, was amazing, helpful, and professional. The food was delicious (we had an entrée that was disappointing at first bite, she took it back and had it remade, at which point it was perfect) and the service was impeccable. I had the duck, we shared a BLT Salad, he had the Fried Chicken, all incredibly yummy. And for dessert? Pecan pie, which was to die for, and butter pecan gelato, double to die for.
The server was very attentive and the food was great. I ordered the trout (one of my favorite) and it was perfectly cooked and seasoned. On my next visit I will order the same.
Great food across a lot of dish types! Fun night with family of all ages.
Great way to spend Xmas eve dinner
Our experience at Roaring Fork was excellent! Our server, Joey. was professional and attentive. Our food was very good and priced at a good value.
Greeter was pleasant enough
However the woman who escorted us to the table was uncommunicative and never smiled
We did not want to sit next to the kitchen and she graciously found us another place
The waiter asked us what we would like to drink at the same time that he placed the drink menu on the table
The rest of the time he was quite good
Our party of two wasn’t deemed worthy of dining in the main dining room so we were escorted to a 2-top literally at the kitchen service pick up window. The heat and noise would have been a real treat. After being reseated in the back corner of the dining room, we chose to order from the chef’s three course menu. Simple enough except that this was a Sunday night and apparently the best chef’s weren’t working. The steaks came out really under cooked and then very over cooked. Each time delivered by a manager who didn’t wait and have us check the temp before leaving. Oh, and the second time the meal was brought the original, now cold, sides were still on the plate. I guess the kitchen was running low on mashed potato and effort. The server was spread too thin so the delay getting him back to take care of us was especially difficult. The wine list wasn’t exactly a home run either. That’ll be the last time I return. We left to go to Mastro’s, where service, experience and food are all excellent.
We really like Roaring Fork. The food is delicious! The service is great. Portions are generous.
Warm feeling inside that is a result of the wait and bar staff!
I had the trout, it may have been the best trout I’ve ever eaten. The chicken tortilla soup is also fantastic.
We were very impressed. It exceeded our expectations. Joey was great.
Great Food & Service. Cocktails and menu are fairly priced. We really enjoyed it and will be back the next time in town.
The food was outstanding. However, our server was aggressive. Additionally, other staff seemed like they would receive a bonus if they cleared the table quickly. We had to tell them at least six times we were not finished, so they would not take our plates away.
It’s our favorite restaurant. Never disappoints and tonight was no different. Went to celebrate our sons bday and not surprised he picked roaring Fork Scottsdale!!
Service here is always great. Our server picked the perfect wine, bartender makes a perfect Old Fashion, and delicious, generous food portions made for a very nice dinner. The trout was perfect and not over cooked. The bone in chop was also excellent. Recommend a side of green Chile Mac n cheese. Noise level was a bit more than usual but it is the holidays, so party groups were enjoying themselves, but not annoying. Merry Christmas.
In a word...perfect! This was our first visit to Roaring Fork, even though it’s our fourth vacation trip to Scottsdale. How I wish we had discovered this gem on an earlier visit! Our server, Roo, was personable, knowledgeable, and very skilled in her job. The food was outstanding as well. We will look forward to a return visit!
Roo was an absolutely outstanding waitress!
The only distraction was being near doors leading to outside seating. It was cold and the door made noise each time it closed. I won’t let that keep me from returning to this great restaurant.
