Roaring Fork - Scottsdale
Book your next event with us
Unbelievably grateful for spending our anniversary here at Roaring Fork! The card with all the Team members names was truly beyond anything we could have expected. It truly made the evening memorable and we will forever be patrons for that small but so meaningful card! Thank You for the exceptional service and hospitality!
We had the trout and pork medallions which were both very good and our server was great.
I had heard about this restaurant for many years so decided to have my husband ‘s family birthday party there. We had a perfect table, great service and everyone said their meal was great! We will return
Roaring Fork was highly recommended by local friends who frequent the restaurant. We drove in
from Palm Springs, CA for one night. We ordered the green Chile appetizer to share because friends raved about it. It was indeed delicious.
We then ordered the 16 oz ribeye pre fix menu for $60 that I shared with a friend. My husband enjoyed the 20 oz. Bone in ribeye. Our shared 16 oz was the fattiest steak I have ever seen. We could barely cut it to split it because all areas were covered in fat. The flavor of the meat itself was not even tasty which you think it would be based on the amount if fat. It also came out more rare than the medium rare we requested. My friend sent her portion back to the kitchen to be cooked a bit longer. It still did not taste any better. We took it home for the dog. Bottom line, appetizer really good but I do not recommend ordering the steaks. Perhaps it was lower quality due to the pre fix menu price. It's days later and I'm still so disappointed to have taken a friend there for such tuck. The ambience however was great though and the service was good. We did not want to complain to the server so we did not tell him how unhappy we were.
Food & Drink Experience:
The food was mediocre. The best thing was an appetizer of mussels with chorizo. My husband’s double thick pork chop, while it looked good, lacked any depth of flavor - the meat had not been seasoned very well, you had to rely on the condiment on top of it, a onion jam, for flavor. Similarly my burger needed salt and pepper. The broccoli side was not cooked all the way through and it too lacked much flavor. The chocolate toffee pecan pie was served cold, so had lumps of coagulated chocolate throughout and very thick pastry.
My martini was served in a room temperature vs chilled glass, so got warm quickly. Luckily it came with a little shaker with the ice, so I could pour the martini back in the shaker to shake and chill it.
Service & Atmosphere:
Our waiter was pleasant enough, but didn’t know the wine specials, we had to show him the name of the bottle on the special insert card on the menu.
The manager was walking around the peripheral of the restaurant with a slumped posture, with low energy looking like he was just biding his time to go home. His energy transferred on down to the rest of the staff as overall atmosphere was low energy. I didn’t see the manager interface with any of the patrons or make any eye contact; never once did I see him walk amongst the tables.
Standard quality food offerings similar to a suburban bar. Folks we met in Scottsdale hyped this place and the establish did not deliver to expectations especially the service. The service was terribly slow and seemed impersonal. I hope to identify a fab place to bring clients and will be removing this place from my list.
Service was basic. At that price point one would expect attention to details. Food was bland at best. Like an Outback Steakhouse with sone lipstick on.
Great service. Love the huckleberry margaritas!
We had a great time at the Roaring Fork! The manager was so gracious and our waitress Shea was terrific. Great food, great ambiance an overall great experience! If we lived in Arizona, we’d be regulars!
The trout amandine was fabulous. The spinach chicken waldorf salad had good ingredients but was severely overdressed and soggy.
The service was great and location and ambiance. The food was very average.
Our dinner was exceptional! I ordered salmon cooked on a wooden plank and he ordered trout covered with sliced almonds. Cooked to perfection (you get to choose how you want the salmon cooked) and it was served with a fresh green bean salad. A twice baked potato was shared. Service was attentive and the ambiance was perfect for a late dinner date.
The food was just okay! Actually I had the duck which was overcooked and rubbery, so that was a big turnoff. Service was good!
It was very difficult to find so we walked about a half mile and arrived late but they were kind and seated us without complAints. Service by Dan was excellent. Food superb. A no miss in Phoenix
Great food and service. My favorite restaurant. I like their fish tacos, burger and salmon.
Get meal. Great restaurant.
We had a 6 PM reservation, but decided to sit in the bar area because every other time we’ve been into the restaurant, the bar has been packed. This time, however, while there wasn’t space at the actual bar there were high tops and a booth available. We chose the booth. We waited patiently. Then we waited even more patiently. After about 10 to 15 minutes with not a single person approaching us even with water, and noticing approximately half a dozen servers/bartenders working in the bar area but not tending to their customers because they were busy talking to each other and one of the servers was speaking to his customers the entire time we were seated and he was standing right next to us. It was a complete disappointment. We absolutely love the menu and the food. The service in the restaurant area, has always been fantastic. Unfortunately, because of this one instance, we will never go back again.
Always one of the best restaurants.
Their restaurant week menu with multiple choices is one of the best in the valley.
Excellent choices for Restaurant Week - multiple choices for each course.
In addition, like to dine from the regular menu. Roaring Fork always a first choice for me
We felt our overall experience was OK. We ordered the 4 course prefixed meal. First appetizer was incorrect. Our food had no flavor and Presentation ok. We sent back a meal because it was undercooked. This place has gotten great feedback and reviews but it wasn’t as expected.
Few places in the Valley can match RF for food, service, and ambiance!
Great food! Be sure to make a reservation--and don't let them seat you in one of the small booths right by the kitchen--tacky. It is noisy if you sit near the bar--but the noise isn't bothersome; it is just fun, because the food is delicious and the crowd is enjoying itself! Fabulous fillet--cooked perfectly. Wonderful nachos!!!! Great peach cobbler; and they have my favorite non-alcoholic beer, Bucklers!
Great place for a date night! The ambiance was casual, the service was friendly and the food was delicious! I was worried it would be fancy/pretentious, but it wasn’t. It was reminiscent of a food hall at a large ranch.
First time here and will be going back. The food was great and the service was too.
We tried restaurant week there Monday night. Place was busy. Extremely loud. My girl friends steak was under cooked. They did correct it. She had a salad leftover and asked for a box, they took the salad and never brought it back. Had pecan pie for desert. It was over cooked and too chewy hard to cut into. That’s not what pecan pie is supposed to be like. Restaurant needs to remember that In many cases restaurant week is an invitation for new customers. This was not a good first impression.
Went two times during Restaurant Week and I would highly recommend. Portions were large for the set menu, service was excellent (fast and friendly), and it was a cozy but lively atmosphere.
The steak salad definitely needs some attention by the chef. Beef is tough and salad has far too much dressing.
Traveled to Scottsdale for a getaway weekend. Was recommended by a friend to eat here. The food was absolutely fabulous. I would consider driving the six hours just to eat there again!
With all the Restaurants I Scottsdale and Phoenix of similar value I probably would not return.... they stuck us in the back of the Restaurant next to a group that had 2 INFANTS! Please... why would you go to a higher priced Steak restaurant on a Saturday evening with infants! They clearly can afford a sitter! I do not want to listen to infants screaming in the background of a fine dining restaurant! I asked to be moved....moved us a 1 table further.. we were told “We do not give booths to 2 people”! Ok...
I will take my monies and go to another restaurant next time ... El Chorro at least has atmosphere as does Steak 44 and so far.
The steak was good & such... but the attitude was not!
Too many other good restaurants around.
Leave your babies at home .... they want to be there... hire a sitter! Don’t impose on others! You are a selfish generation!!
Service was excellent as was the food. Great value
The best food and service I can remember! Both me and my wife can’t wait to go back and try other stuff on menu
We hosted a table for 3 couples and everyone was very pleased with the service and the food. We would definitely dine there again.
This was our first time at Roaring Fork! We celebrated my wife’s birthday! The food was outstanding, as well as the service! We’ll definitely be back again!
We came to celebrate my birthday. The overall experience was amazing, as usual, but the steak was a bit overcooked. It was very charred on the outside, which made it taste burnt. We've had this steak here before and it was to die for. Perhaps just an off night.
Everything was great and the food was the best. I always recommend your place to friends and family and business associates.
Very consistent, delicious food. Great drinks. Fast attentive wait staff. All natural organic margarita will make you feel like you could hijack an elevator, but that is likely a persinal issue. Short ribs, fried chicken, trout and rib eye amongst favorite entres.
