Roaring Fork - Scottsdale

Have always enjoyed everything we order. Love the burger and chopped Waldorf salad
We dine at Roaring Fork every time we are in Phoenix. Lovely atmosphere, wonderful food and great service. Chile Mac and Cheese is a signature dish that must be tried. Only downside is all beers are canned, nothing is draft.
It was my brother's birthday and you treated us so well! The service was exceptional and the food was delicious. My brother loves steak and said it was one of the best he's had at a restaurant. Thanks for coming through in a big way!
Wonderful evening, very good food and really great atmosphere! Dessert was delicious except the chocolate tort was spicy hot which nobody in our family could appreciate. They immediately replaced it with THE BEST CHOCOLATE ice cream- incredible recipe!!!
I had requested, via a phone call, a table indoors, by the patio. I was very precise explaining to the man that called me where I wanted to sit. He said it was all taken care of. I bring my guest in and we're seated by the kitchen. I run restaurants for a living, the last place I want to sit is by the kitchen!!! Not wanting to make a scene, I calmly tell the hostess that I requested a different table. "Those are all filled". So we sit at a two top by the kitchen. By the way, you need new springs in your booth cushions. I sat down and sunk so deep that I felt like a child at the parents table. We both ordered the Bacon Wrapped Filet. Med/rare and Medium. The medium was fine. Great cut of quality beef. The med/rare was cooked rare and had to be sent back. The proper thing to do, would have been to remove both plates and hold mine until both could be brought out together. Instead, the runner left mine on the table while my guest's was re-fired. I didn't want to eat mine alone. So there it sat getting cold. My check was $200.00 that night with tip. Having spent $100.00 per person, I find it unfair that I even have to write a review about a lackluster dining experience.
Recommended to get a table far away from the loud cooks and waitstaff breaking dishes beside us. Farely disappointed in "ambience ".
I've eaten at Roaring Fork many, many times. The food is consistently good and it has great variety, as well. RF also has one of the best happy hours in Scottsdale although it can sometimes be hard to get a table.
Loved everything about this restaurant except the initial wait even though we had reservations. Hostesses did not seem to know what they were doing!
Great food & service but wine prices are 3-5 times retail. That’s way too much.
We really enjoyed our meal but the restaurant beginnings was not the most pleasant experience. We were a little early for our reservation and could not get seated until that time. The bar was totally packed, as was the patio. No waiting on anyone waiting (we were going to spend money on a meal for six) but were shunned by all until we sat down. Think you need a better way to take care of those who have reservations. Once we arrived at the table, the waiter, meal and accommodations were great and everyone enjoyed the meal together.
Great Bar area for a Drink before dinner or for Happy Hour. We had reservations for dinner so we were seated on the patio and it was Very Nice & Comfortable. Our server in the Bar and at Dinner were both attentive. The food was very good. We had the Salmon, Beef Short Ribs, and Fried Chicken and all were Excellent. The Frozen Margarita was also GREAT!
The food and company was excellent.
This was our fist time dining at Roaring Fork...and we would go back again, definitely! The waitstaff was very friendly, prompt and attentive. The food was very very good...my filet was done to perfection. Portion sizes were reasonable, giving you some to take home if you wished. Yes, would recommend this restaurant without hesitation.
2nd time here, just as good as the first time 2 years ago. Service was a bit lacking but the food is excellent.
Great place for relaxing dinner and wonderful place to take out of town guests
Everything for the most part was excellent except our table location.
Most certainly will recommend this restaurant and will return ourselves.
We eat in a lot of restaurants, and this one s now at the top of our list!
Excellent food and service. Very comfortable western atmosphere.
This place was outstanding. We had a party of 10 and everyone enjoyed every aspect of this restaurant. large variety of food and everyone raved about. We sat in an area with a fireplace. Love it.
Delicious! We enjoyed everything we tried! Will definitely be a place we will come back to.
Big A.. Burger is delicious.
Loved the margaritas, too!
We were visiting Scottsdale and a friend recommended Roaring Fork
Food was delicious - salmon on wood plank, huge arugula, date and goat cheese salad
We ate on the enclosed/heated porch and while not as attractive as the inside, it served our need to change initial reservation and eat earlier
Reservations a must, especially in season
Would return and would recommend to others
Food and server were very good. We showed up 7 minutes early and were told our table wasn’t ready. “”It would be ready closer to our reservation time”. Really? I found that fairly obnoxious comment by the hostess.
Always a great dining experience. Look forward to our return.
We made a reservation for 7:30, arrived a little early but told the hostess that we would wait in the bar. Forty-five minutes later I walked back to the hostess stand and everyone was surprised I had already checked in. I noticed empty tables and know that we waited much longer than need be. That experience put a damper on everything that came after.
FANTASTIC! I am a regular Scottsdale visitor and this was my first time at Roaring Fork. Our sever was terrific and incredibly quick witted. The food was great. The Wedge Salad was AWESOME! My friend got the Steak Salad and practically licked the plate. 🤣 My Short Ribs were one if the best I have ever had. We wanted dessert yet the dinner filled us to capacity. We will be back!
The food and service was amazing. Until after dinner when we decided to Go To the bar and the bartender told us they were closed (several minutes before they were closed) as they sweeper the floors around us after paying over $500 for our small group for dinner. But the food was great and so was our waitress. Bartender service needs to be better and late night crew should not sweep around you.
Ehh ehh ehh ehh ehh ehh - mediocre / overpriced - ehh ehh
Wood fire gave the meat a really good flavor. Very busy restaurant, but good and timely service.
It was a Monday night in spring training season, so the dining room got busy early. But we had a reservation for two at 5:15, and we got a prompt table placement. I ate a great sea bass entre, laid over asparagus, with petite potato wedges - all bites mouthwatering! And then the pecan pie to finish- I was in heaven. My wife had the bacon wrapped pork loin, and she says all the same things about her plate. Our head server Tom, was there at all the right times, and helpful. Thanks to all the other wait staff too! See you again ASAP. John & Ann, Tucson, AZ
Striped sea bass way overpriced for quality you could get at Denny’s. Loud cussing tables of men ruined ambience. Led Zepplin and other rock music playing in the dining area negate the ambient lighting and high priced food. Not interested in spending $195.00 here again for 2 people.
Best meal we had in Scottsdale. It was excellent!
The food was plentiful and of good quality. I had different expectations prior to arrival. However, the food was good and the presentation was excellent. I would recommend Roaring Fork a step above Steakhouse.
We haven’t eaten here in years because the last time we had dined here I didn’t like anything on the menu. Our server was terrible. The entire experience was negative. The difference has been remarkable. We are making a reservation for our whole family when they arrive next week.
The food was incredible. Our group each ordered a different meal and all were superior. The wait staff were friendly, prompt, well informed, and very intent on answering questions. Our table was not the best, however, it was a full restaurant and it was the only table available at our reservation time. All in all this was a superior experience and we are returning this week.
Upon entrance the restaurant seemed a little dated. No valet parking. After a brief wait our hostess walked us to the back of the restaurant and seated us at a table for 2 that seemed to have been inserted in an open area to handle an overflow crowd from maybe earlier in the evening...we felt like we were sitting on an island and there was a bright downlight illuminating our table which was bothersome. We aske dto be moved and after a few minutes we were seated in a booth next to the kitchen area. Our waitress Shead (sp) was very nice, accommodating and helpful with the menu. I had their trout and my wife had their $55 menu special with an 8 oz filet which included desert. We both rated our meals as "good" - my wife got the pecan pie desert which included a scoop of pecan ice cream...we closed our dinner saying the best thing we had all night was the ice cream!
Nice food but we preferred the appetizers to the entrees. The server spilled food on one of us and had sloppy service and not a great attitude
Our first visit to the Roaring Fork was excellent. The atmosphere was fun and the food fantastic! The short ribs and pork loin with cheesy grits and street corn were standouts! We will return for sure!!
very good food, lots of choices, good service....I would return
We had a great meal. Date Salad was delicious. I had the duck which was very good. My husband had the red fish which was also great. Service was attentive.
