Great service but I was dissatisfied with our seat selection. We were seated between 2 tables with babies which was distracting. We also were disappointed finding that the HH prices were not available for the dining area. Other than that, the food and service was great!

We were here to celebrate my daughters birthday.just four of us. There was a large wedding party that was standing not far away having an event with an open bar. It was not in a separate enclosed room. The noise was super loud and annoying. It was only after an hour that the group sat down to their tables and the sound somewhat subsided.

We ordered drinks and it took almost 20 minutes. A really long time to get them. Our server said that it was especially slow that evening.

The food was okay. Nothing five stars at all. I’m glad to did not order the expensive steaks. My short ribs were okay. A bit stringy.

Overall, our party was ‘fighting’ the noise and extra activity going on throughout.

At this point I’m not in any rush to go back to this restaurant.

My colleagues and I had a very nice dinner. The ambiance was great. Our waiter was very attentive and made great suggestions for meal and drink choices. The food was very good. Overall, the dinner was one of our highlights during our week-long visit to Austin.

We ordered burgers. The service was quick and the server was courteous but the food preparation was ordinary. I feel Hopdoddy’s has better food for a fraction of the price. Just seemed like we were paying for the location and ambiance. Not disappointed but I’m not sure it was worth the trip.

Food was excellent and service too. Room was way, way too loud. Not expecting to have a two-hour shouting conversation with my dinner guest. 8 OZ filet for $38, with no sides! You have got to be kidding?

The prices were high and the food was just okay. We had two orders of short ribs that were nearly 1/3 fat - not a little bit huge chunks of fat, something I’ve never experienced when ordering that dish. I’m for the price it was not worth it.

Service was very slow and unresponsive. From the hostess to the server to the table staff. Food came out cool. One request for a glass of wine to 45 minutes to fill, with us giving 2 reminders in the middle. Very UN-exceptional.

Not only was the food outstanding, but they went above and beyond to make sure our 1 year anniversary was special. The hostess, with me on the phone, walked around the restaurant, looking for the table we sat at the year before on the day we met. She reserved the same table for us for the next night, and they had a "happy anniv." card on the table. Then, for dessert, they brought us a beautiful plate with Happy Anniversary spelled out in caramel. I was so touched by their kindness and appreciate the efforts by their staff. Thank you guys, so much!

Overall, ehh. Grouper dish was small, mediocre and overpriced. I ordered short-ribs, i wanted to switch the vegetables that were served with it as I do not like horseradish. I simply switched to the set up with the pork dish. It was corn and polenta. They switched it but charged me $9. Seriously? Bad move and pretty gougey. The server didn't mention an up-charge but added it to bill. I can see an up-charge in some scenarios, this was a gouge. Ceaser was pretty plain and was ok at best. Desert list was basic and pretty unoriginal. Like I said food end of experience was ehhh.

Sidenote. Bartender and bar experience was nice. Server was good. Wine list was ok. Lots of commercial wine available everywhere.

One of the best dinners I’ve ever had in Austin. We were six adults and a four year old and everyone loved their entree. Mine was the bacon wrapped pork tenderloin with cheese grits- to die for! The others had trout with almonds, cedar-planked salmon, the grouper special, an excellent filet and a kid’s burger for the granddaughter. Great ambiance with Texas decor and quiet enough for the six adults to carry on conversations. The wait staff was very friendly and helpful- excellent food and service. I would highly recommend The Roaring Fork.

Even on a busy night, the food was outstanding. Each of the five us ordered a different meal and every dish was terrific. Try the Green chili Mac and cheese. If you want chocolate desert, share the flourless torte for the table - its way too rich for one person!

The food was superb, service on point, I only wish it hadn't been so loud but nothing they can do about that. Antler chandeliers are an odd choice but I guess that's mighty Texas of them.

My Wife and I visited with our two grown children for a family dinner during the Christmas holiday. Food was excellent, service attentive, and the atmosphere great. Perfect spot to spend an evening together as a family over a great meal. I highly recommend the restaurant and we will go back. One warning, I have a serious nut allergy, and the cornbread muffins they brought for the table prior to the meal have pecans in them. Fortunately, I didn’t eat them - but we weren’t told. I routinely ask about nuts when ordering dessert, and when I brought it up our server said “you didn’t eat the bread did you”? So, just a heads up. That could have been unfortunate. But, like I said, this is a great restaurant for a night out, and we look forward to going back.

We were seated as soon as we arrived. We were greeted with a friendly face at the host stand, and the waiter was attentive. He know an amazing amount of information about each item on the menu which was astonishing. The food was very good, the mashed potatoes could have been less strong they were barely edible. All was amazing, great atmosphere and great food.

The bar area was packed and they were running 30 minutes behind on reservations. Onc seated took 10 more minutes before waiter greeted us. He was distracted and inefficient the intire evening. Our salad arrived before we ever received our wine since he didnt address our drink needs in a timely manner. The steak and side dishes were wonderful! Didn’t bother staying for dessert...wasn’t offered it either. Disappointed...should have listened to our hotel concierge:(

Started with the green chili pork - which, as far as I'm concerned, is the reason to go there. Had a yummy, lemony cocktail. Shared the spinach and onions with perfectly cooked steaks. Finished with huckleberry cheesecake and would have drank tea but it arrived after the cheesecake. Which is why the lost stars: water glasses left unfilled, waitstaff disorganized, tea took longer than dessert...It seems like maybe they are trying to be fine dining without training the staff to provide the basics, which is a pity.

I have been going to Roaring Fork for years, normally for lunch. It was my birthday celebration and family visiting from out of town that led to our reservation at The Roaring Fork. We arrived a little bit early, so they sat us about 30 minutes before our reservation. The food, drinks, dessert and service were all perfect.

It is a very nice looking restaurant. But the food is way overcooked and way over priced. The trout and the chicken were both dry as if they had been sitting under a heat lamp for too long. The pork chop had too many fatty, inedible bites. And something I have never before experienced in a nice restaurant, very loose chair legs that had us reaching to find the screws holding the chairs together.
