Delicious modern and classy take on Tex Mex! Great Western atmosphere that feels upscale but you can dress casual. Corn bread is great, and try the tortilla soup to start. I had the spit-roasted chicken and it had great flavor. Service very friendly, too. Can't go wrong here!
Great food, creative menu, generous portions, good service, nice ambiance! Will definitely go back.
I had excellent service (thank you, Kelsey!) and the salmon was perfect. This was a great choice for a romantic date night!
I ordered my steak medium rare and when they brought it out they asked me to cut into it and it was raw. They said okay we will cook it some more and at that moment I knew that was a mistake because you can’t cut it and then cook it again. When it came back she asked me to cut it again which was stupid since it was cut already and it was pink in the middle but not medium rare but I just said it was okay but again it was a mistake because at this point it was so dried out. I tried to eat it but it was awful. I told the waiter and he just said oh okay but no other suggestion. Like another one. I just don’t get how they don’t know how to cook a medium rare steak and it’s my fault. Really disappointed in this restaurant. I paid $120. and left upset and hungry.
Excellent spot for a business lunch. Was surprised (and pleased) I could snag a last-minute reservation during SXSW. Quiet, convenient, great service, great food. Thanks.
What an incredible evening. The food is SUPERB. The queso was shockingly the best I’ve ever had. The cocktails were so fresh and good. I ordered the Pork tenderloin with cheese grits. Comfort food with a flavorful twist. The ambience is wonderful at this restaurant. I would recommend it to everyone that I know
My husband and I celebrated his birthday at Roaring Fork on Congress and we had a wonderful time. The food was great and the restaurant had great ambiance. They had top-notch service. We would definitely visit this restaurant again in the near future. Oh BTW, did I mention that they food was incredible? Oh I did, but I can't state enough how much we enjoyed our meals.
The food is fabulous and the service is impeccable.
Very good food and a reasonable price for lunch (not cheap, but good value for the quality). Good service too.
The arugula and date salad was wonderful, as was the guacamole. The waiter was brand new and not quite all together. All was fine when another waiter stepped in to help - what a great employee!
The service at the Roading Fork was very good. The staff was very helpful giving ideas of menu items. I am gluten free, the the waiter was very kind to help me find something I could eat. We told them it was our anniversary and they placed a nice card on our table. The food portion was very large and pricing was appropriate. We would definitely eat there again.
We were celebrating friend’s 50th birthday. From the minute we got there until we left, the staff was friendly, attentive & very professional. Proximity to Paramount theatre made it perfect choice for pre-show dinner and drinks. Great night!!!
RF (both locations) have always been a "go to" for us. Our son-in-law was in Austin for business, so we came downtown & took him to dinner (we live way north of Austin). We were seated at a booth that was so tight we could not open our menus (had reservations for a table for 3) & our server was less than pleased at our request to move...Tuesday night (not overly busy). The steaks (filets) were a nice cut & properly prepared...but very salty. The asparagus was amazing. The mashed potatoes were so salty they were basically inedible. However, everyone at least tasted them to be cordial. RF has always been one of our favorites, & consistently good. But it is too expensive for sub-standard service & inconsistency with the food. We were disappointed...especially since we wanted to show our son-in-law a special evening in Austin.
Very good experience. Waiter was a little overloaded but good. Steak was awesome and the sides were great as well.
The service was superb and the food delicious. Loved the ambience and appreciated the attention to detail.
How do you run out of NY Strip? The only reason I took my daughter and friend there on a Sunday night was for the NY Strip. I am from Washington state and was looking forward to this dinning experience. It’s the equivelant to you visiting Washington to enjoy Dungeness Crab and the restaurant telling you they are out of crab...
Our steak options were the Filet Minion or The KC Strip (Market Price) which we ordered one of each, not what we wanted, but we wanted steak. There were no accommodations offered for example, since we are out of NY Strip, how about a complementary dessert or enjoy the appetizer you ordered on us...if you are looking forward to a steak call in advance to check inventory.
Another wonderful dinner prior to concert at the Paramount. Hostesses were very helpful and the server was perfect. Did not rush us and was very helpful responding to questions about the menu. Meal was delicious as always. Variety of items offered makes this a great spot for groups. Combined with the easy reservation process through Open Table we plan to review again and again.
Absolutely outstanding! I had the pork tenderloin and my husband had the red fish. Portions are large. We should have shared. Would highly recommend.
Had an reservation and was seated right away.
The waiter was great.
The food was wonderful.
I had the steak and you could cut it with your fork.
Had friends in from out of town. Can always depend on the food, service and ambience at The Roaring Fork!
Food and service was fantastic. Our server Loren(sp?) was the bomb.
Food and service was good. Wine was way overpriced. Charged a bottle of Carb Sav more than $50 versus buying from store.
The service was good of and food was delicious.
The "Kettle of Green Chili" appetizer was worth the meal, alone! I was almost filled after that, alone. Great portions, flavors & Margarita's!
Shannon Did a great job... Great place, great food, great service.
Overall good experience. Food was good; however, surprised they didn't serve bread. Chips were the only option. Our table ordered steak and fish and we were pleased with both.
Everything was great from on time seating to my check. The staff and food were great!
This is a great spot for a date night. My husband and I have come twice now. Once for our anniversary and once for belated Valentine's celebrations. We've had great service both times, and the atmosphere is romantic without being over the top. The food is always top notch. Would recommend to a friend or someone from out of town in a heartbeat!
Wonderful menu with unique items; delicious, perfectly cooked food; great atmosphere.
Nice date meal before a concert at the Paramount.
Service and food were both excellent. Highly recommend!
Really enjoyed the Roaring Fork! Conveniently located near the Paramount Theatre, it has a great vibe, fabulous menu and excellent service. Our server, Richard, was absolutely top notch! We will def go back again when we are in Austin again.
Mussels in chorizo broth, great
Date salad. Really good.
Roast chicken, good, dressing dry.
Trout, butterflied and really dry. A butter sauce was brought to try to help but still dry. Sent back.
Very apologetic. Offered to replace but declined.
Offered a card with money on it but only here a few days.
I have mixed feelings about this place. It was nice & food tasted great. The waiter wasn't very attentive, but I'll give him a break since it was busy. The food was a bit overpriced for what you get. And most entrees do not come with a side, that's extra. The menu is a bit sparse, but most things on there i personally would order...but that's me.
This didnt go towards the rating... However, a family of 5 (3 kids) decided to go to a nice restaurant with an older infant that kept crying. If you can afford expensive restaurant prices + parking, then you can afford a babysitter...just sayin'. It's inconsiderate to put the other patrons (there for a nationally recognized DATE NIGHT, who did go to all the time & expense to hire a babysitter) thru your kiddo chaos. I know this wasn't the restaurants fault - they can't ban kids on Valentines...LOL.
Food and service were outstanding. Different vibe from Quarry Lake but every bit as good in all aspects. Definitely would recommend and we will be back. Mussels were amazing.
Great drinks, great food, and Leah was a wonderful waitress.
Great experience there, went for business meeting and everyone enjoyed the experience.
Wait staff was *, food very good, table was crowded, felt very cramped. Good place for old friends to meet and have quite conversation.
