RND Corner Grille
Service was extremely slow and the restaurant was out of 4-5 menu items. They were even out of coke! Who has heard of such! No salmon, crab cakes, short ribs, the list went on and on. Probably took over 10-15 min to get our cocktails and the place was empty. We have dined here many times in the past since our daughter has been at KU but sad to say this restaurant has really deteriorated. Our server told us we had to order our dinner when we were enjoying our wine and appetizers. It was very awkward. We suspected she wanted to go off her shift. Probably will not return to RND
We always enjoy the atmosphere here. We were a little disappointed in the service on a Saturday night. We weren’t there at a busy time and our food still took forever. And very disappointed at the amount of Salmon on my Salad. Brussels sprouts are amazing!
We were Sat at a terrible table by the door with blinding sun straight in my eyes. Despite having a reservation waited 15 minutes for our drink order, ordered a 45 dollar bottle of Napa Merlot that was in fact a 10 dollar bottle (so it tasted like garbage). This is perhaps partially Napa’s fault for lending there name to crap wine marked up 500%. I ordered a strip steak rare. I was brought out a grey moist thing without any charing if it was lightly boiled.
One of these strikes on its own would have been tolerable. $140 dollars later I was asking myself why did I bother with this establishment.
Have been here several times. Unfortunately, it was a busy evening and we waited a long time for our food. Once we got it, it was cold. Steak was overcooked, but cold (was supposed to Med Rare; came out well done). We gave feedback to waiter. He told his manager who was very nice and accommodating and comped our dinners. Staff and manager did a good job trying to remedy the issues. Will try them again.
I can always count on high quality food at RND. This was my first time to do a weekday lunch and the menu had many good choices at very reasonable prices.
Food was excellent. Our server was very green, left my beer empty for quite a while. I asked for an app, he automatically gave us the $30 version and not the $15 one, which is what I wanted. He was not very attentive and looked to be more interested in the host. Food however, was on point.
Last night we had THE BEST time! Everyone was so helpful and courteous. Our server Olivia was so fun and had many great insights into the new menu which we absolutely loved! Kudos to the Chef also- everything we had was amazing and trust me- we tried ALOT of the new menu last night. Thank you for a great evening!
We we waited on by a lovely young lady, Olivia who treated is like we were the only group in the restaurant. The food was quite good and the prices commensurate with the generous portions.
Fun dinner destination to celebrate an anniversary, birthday, or special event.
Great food and service. Enjoyed having a table at the window seeing Mass.
Sometimes their seasoning is a bit tame. Otherwise, no complaints. RNDCG serves consistently good food. In a city without a French restaurant, I very much appreciate their delicious and reasonably priced Steak Frites. The bar knows how to make a cocktail and the wine selection, while a wee bit pricey, is pretty well curated.
Brunch was great- the chilaquiles is outstanding! My family enjoyed their pancakes and a short rib sandwich. Of course the tater tots are not to be missed! Service was good but I think our server forgot to shower.
Overall great food and atmosphere
We enjoyed our first visit to this restaurant and will visit it again when we are back in Lawrence.
The portion sizes are good for the price but it doesn’t matter if there is no flavor. Chicken pot pie was bland. Pork chop had two pieces of carmelized onions and one piece of mushroom. Expect a lot more from this establishment. Not busy for a Friday night.
RND is my favorite restaurant in Lawrence, KS and basically the area, Topeka included and Overland Park area of Kansas.
The staff is skilled and extremely polite and attentive. The food is great and consistent. I had friends from Topeka and Phoenix in town and everyone loved their meals. I really enjoy the place.
It's June and the fall/winter menu is still being served. We love RND. The food has always been good in the past, service and bar are always outstanding. The steaks we had on 5/31/19 upset our stomachs, and were bland. We had indigestion and sour stomachs the next day. We won't be back until the menu is updated. Do not recommend at this time due to out of season menu and iffy food prep w/our most recent meal.
All was good
Overpriced, average meal. Nice ambiance/setting. Disappointed for the price.
Graduation celebration! RND accommodated our group, with a couple of add one at the last minute. Food and service were excellent. One of our favorite restaurants in Lawrence.
Came in for dinner with a group of friends. We we promptly seated and were attended to immediately. Wonderful drinks and food. We will be back!
Certainly enjoyed our dining experience at RND. We will definitely be back.
An exceptional meal at a restaurant that clearly has high culinary standards. Excellent beer and wine list, attentive service. The risotto with acorn squash and pesto was out of this world! If we lived in Lawrence, we'd be regular diners.
Kristi Lopez, the general manager, is a rock star. She sets the service mindset for the rest of the team. Mother's Day Brunch was quite a delight. Our server was friendly and responsive. The bacon buttermilk pancake was a tasty guilty pleasure. Loved the Make Your Own Mimosa flavor with variety of juice options. A Lawrence winner!
server was not attentive, he is not a professional waiter. Food looked good but had no outstanding taste. ambiance was good; like the space and music. overall consensus not worth bring mom on mothers day. she was not impressed. no management peraonell came over to ask about our meal and experience. Problems with this Resturant seem to come from the top; management apathy, food quaility and service.. all fixable?
Dinner with daughter
Service was slow. Took about 15 minutes to get a drink every time we ordered. Food was mediocre. Better restaurants in Lawrence for you money
Food and service are always excellent. We typically go for the Sunday brunch but the other times we have been there everything is consistently good.
We were here for Easter. My husband and I with our 20 month old son. I was nervous to bring our little one because I saw somewhere on here that they weren’t kid friendly. I didn’t think that was the case at all. The food was delicious, perfect Easter brunch. Loved the tater tots appetizer and got Mac and cheese for my son even though it wasn’t on the morning menu.
Our waiter did a good job, and the manager made sure to stop by and make sure we were happy. Also cool that this place has been around so long. I did end up taking my son outside early because he was starting to get loud and it seems like a nice place, but didn’t feel like the staff judged us for having a toddler along at all!
Food and experience was good, but was told that the Meatballs were a favorite, but they were very dry
There were 4 of us and everyone commented that the food was not seasoned well. It had no flavor
Enjoyed our Mom’s Weekend Brunch
A Lawrence gem! Fantastic food, service, and atmosphere. So good we went three times over the weekend.
We are delighted that this is the sort of restaurant that does not offer A-1 sauce for its steaks. They are too good to need it. Some customers might taste better with A-1 sauce, though.
We had a delicious meal, and the service was very good. unfortunately, we had a reservation and still had to wait 45 minutes.
Another wonderful meal at RnD. As a wine snob I really appreciate they keep the red wines at the right temperature, so they have a nice coolness about them. This is my go to restaurant in Lawrence.
Terrific atmosphere, our waiter was very personable. The food came quick and it was so very good. We will be back, a neighborhood gem.
We hadn’t been to Lawrence in awhile, and a friend recommended RND highly. She was right! Nice yet casual, good menu, and one of our favorite wines was half price. WIN!
Nice quiet evening with very good service. My new go to restaurant in Lawrence.
We were at a table that backed up to a large party and the women were rude and obnoxious and kept their seats out and I was bumped by the services at least 20 times
Not a good experience, they should not have seated anyone at our table
Love, love, love this place! Everything was top notch. The food was superb and our service (Tyler) was excellent. The GM even made visits to the tables to check in on her customers. Will definitely be pack whenever in Lawrence. Perfect evening!!
