Overpriced and over rated!! The food was below average. Ordered three steaks, supposed to be “ amazing “ according to the waitress and they were cold! We could get much better steaks at high end steak houses on town and for the same price...

This was an early dinner before the show! French and lovely - had a great glass of dry Muscadet and then we shared a salad, an appetizer of house-made gnocchi and the mad hatter chicken with a glass of bordeaux blend. Great service - great food - great find!

Celebrated our 22nd anniversary. Were greeted at the table with a card and glass of champagne. Service was outstanding during our 5 course tasting menu. Outstanding experience but the place is loud and can be a little overbearing....but the food and service is worth it. Please enjoy

Very attentive service, busy and lively, coursed dinner was delicious with special bites from the Chef. It was fun to sit near a family whose very well-behaved children were enjoying a gourmet food experience.

Excellent steak but blanquette de veau sauce a bit too salty. Also charged regular price even tho ordered as prix fixe during Restaurant Week. Very expensive!

The food was great and full of flavor. The only thing I would say is that it felt understaffed. The kitchen felt like it took a long time to make our meal. Our server was really nice but could have checked in sooner between drinks and taking our order.

Went with a girlfriend to RN74 for the first time. Tried the cassoulet for Restaurant Week along with wine pairings. The wine was perfectly chosen for all three courses -- kudos to the sommelier whose own label syrah was the perfect choice for the hearty cassoulet. Our server and the bartender were also fantastic, providing exemplary service, but the noise level was so great we had to ask to be moved to a table that didn't require us to shout. Unfortunately the cassoulet, a signature French dish, while flavorful, featured tough duck and mushy beans -- it was more like a bean soup allowed to sit for far too long. The beef tartare was fine, as were the beignets, but nothing stood out and would compel me to come back.

Fun atmosphere with a cool wine bar. Service was lovely. The food was extremely underwhelming and disappointing. My friend's ravioli came with only 4; my duck confit had tiny 3 pieces; and the creme brulee was bare bones.

We arrived early for Happy Hour, but upon settling our tab, were told that the drinks we ordered did not qualify for Happy Hour...We had even confirmed it was Happpy Hour when we sat down at the bar but apparently we ordered the wrong brand of whiskey in our whiskey sours. Service for dinner was dismal. No one came after pouring water until we asked a passing hostess for some attention. The main course was awful. Duck terrine consisted of a layer of cooked beans with a few unrecognizable, crunchy little chunks of something...looked like chicken skin...scattered on top. My husbands lamb dish was similarly awful. Really a significant disappointment in every respect except the waitress’s assistant who was a lovely, fun, Hispanic man who made us feel welcome.

Marvelous traditional French food, impeccably prepared, paired with wine and served. I went during Restaurant Week before going to Ragtime. The tartare was excellent, the cassoulet and blanquette de veau were exactly as they should be (the cassoulet with duck confit should be the picture next to the dictionary entry for 'unctuous'), and the beignets were delicate and pillowy.

I look forward to going again now that I know the food is worth the price of admission!

Excellent seasonal dishes. We enjoyed the three-course tasting menu which was superb. Our cocktails were also top rate. Our service was sufficient, but not as professional as we expected for this level of fine dining.

The menu over-promises and under-delivers. The steak tartar was made on an assembly line many hours previous and looked and tasted like it. The veal blanquette was only passable. The beignets were baked, not fried, and ordinary.
If this were a person's first experience with this cuisine they would wonder what the fuss was all about.
In addition, the wine and meal service were not coordinated. As a result, I did not have wine with my main course.
All in all, the food was a disappointing. I would not return to eat. However, the wines were very good, if pricey.

We chose to have dinner here before our 8pm show at Benaroya Hall. The waiter knew this and told him we wanted to be out 15-30min before 8pm to make it on time. Long story short, we didn’t get out until after 7:45p and had to rush over, barely making it on time, and that was only because we got up to leave before our dessert even came. At 7:30p, the waiter had offered to either bring out dessert or box it up. We asked to have it brought out along with our check, since we did not expect to wait more than 15min for it. At 7:45p we gave up and got our coats from the coat check and asked a manager to please have our dessert to go (waiter was nowhere to be found during this time). We got our dessert in about 2 minutes. The waiter saw us ready to leave, and there was absolutely no acknowledgement or apology for the wait. Dinner started out fine but was very disappointed at the end due to the inattention of the waiter. Would not recommend coming here for a pre-concert dinner.

We chose RN 74 for a date night dinner after visiting the Seattle Art Museum. It was one of the first stormy nights in Seattle for the fall, so tucking into a cozy booth and enjoying a couple of pre dinner drinks, then settling in for an amazing Prix fixe was the perfect thing.

We liked everything so much that we’ve made this restaurant our monthly date spot — we made our next reservation before walking out the door.

RN74 has long been one of our favorite restaurants in town, but the new Executive Chef is bringing the restaurant to a new level. The food has never tasted better. Also, service continues to be stellar. I'm super impressed by the amount of time and energy the staff puts into your experience. It was lovely to meet the Executive Chef too.

They also arranged a very special treat for me during our last meal - I was really blown away.

I went for restaurant week and was not impressed with the entrees or with the dessert. I ordered the duck confit cassoulet and the duck was dry and there were only scraps of duck in the dish. My friend ordered the mushroom ravioli and she only had four tiny pieces of ravioli. We were starving after the entrees and joked about ordering a steak to share (although we weren't really joking about it). In addition, the crème brule was runny and warm and the chocolate mousse was more of a whip cream texture instead of a light mousse texture.

I recommend this place for the atmosphere, cocktails, and happy hour, but there are much better places for dinner in terms of quality and value.

Went for restaurant week. I take advantage of restaurant week to check out new restaurants. This is a place I would not go back to.

Food was meh - beef tartare was ashen in color and lacked flavor, veal shank was not advertised as a stew - I think I only got have a ladle as an entree and the chocolate mousse looked and tasted like it was bought in the refrigerator section of Safeway. For $33 I could have gotten a full meal elsewhere. Didn't need the attitude from the lightly worked, but easily overwhelmed waitstaff. With a half empty restaurant our meal took almost 2 hours - if I hadn't told them we were going to a show I wonder if we would have ever been served. Our server was more interested in her large party than our two-top but there were at least 3 different people coming by asking us about our water. Water is free - what about the food we paid for - why don't you guys go check on that... The tardiness of our food was not because they cooked things to order - my husband had the duck confit and that too was a stew - with hardly any duck. So I can envision a couple of large pots on a stove in the kitchen, ready to scoop some of their slop into a bowl and call it a representation of their culinary skills. No thanks, I won't be back.

This is the second time I have been to the restaurant and was less than impressed. When having a glass of wine and munchie at the bar I have been impressed but dinner was just not great. 4 people and 3 of us were underwelmed with our dishes. Mine was so salty that my lips were stinging and the waitress was so slow to return that I didn't have a chance to tell her about the pasta sauce being salty until after I had eaten all the protein in the dish (I was hungry and there was nothing wrong with the chicken). She did her best to make it right but my goodness it shouldn't have gone out like that. The steak my friend got was sauced and eaten in before she returned so he could tell her medium wasn't "rare" and needed it more cooked. I will go back to the bar but I won't eat in the restaurant for dinner again. Side note the endive salad was FANTASTIC!

I have known one of the business partners in RN 74 for 20 years and the way I was treated was rude, arrogant and down right disrespectful. We had an 8pm reservation, the hostess knew we had a 9:30 event to attend. She noted to grab a drink at the bar and it would be 15 - 20 minutes. Not only were we ignored or have my reminding her we had a commitment being dismissed we didn't get seated until 8:45. We immediately ordered the "quickest" item on the menu with no appetizers. The waiter was aware of the rush order. By 9:20 the order was still not ready despite my reminding the waiter of our need to depart. We got up and left. My only regret was cashing out at the bar.
If you want over priced wines, mediocre menu choices and rude, arrogant staff - be prepared to wait over an hour for your reservation,
