I took my wife and daughter here after seeing a show. I strongly encourage the tasting, multi course with wine paring experience. It was amazing all around. It was not cheap but still a good value. Definitely get what you pay for. The chef introduced himself and is a pleasure to talk with, very down to earth. My daughter wants to book here for her 16th birthday dinner she loved it so much!!
We will be returning.
I hadn't been to RN74 in at least a couple of years. I had always liked them; just hadn't had the opportunity to go. They used to be good to very good. Now they're just flat-out great.
My wife and I were there for our anniversary and they couldn't have done a better job of recognizing it. Romantic booth seating, a handwritten card on our table, and complimentary Champagne to start.
I had the seared foie gras and it was melt-in-your-mouth spectacular.
Once I saw they had duck fat fries on the menu, I knew I'd be ordering the steak frites. The ribeye was outstanding. The fries were out of this world. I mean, top three fries I've ever had in my life.
If I had to, had to, had to say one tiny little thing they got right, so you don't think I'm a shill, I'd say that I miss the foie gras sliders. We'd have them with a glass of tokaji and it was a little slice of heaven. But having seared foie on the menu made up for the loss.
I don't know how you could go wrong with RN74.
Great food, service good
Great night out
We were a group of 11 and wanted to split the bill but the server said it was not possible . Otherwise the place is great for happy hour and has good cocktails .
Excellent food with great flavors. They take the time to prepare each dish. The dry aged duck is my favorite.
Great restaurant and great meal. Service was excellent
There was 9 of us 7 being chefs and we all had the tasting menu. It was fantastic, our server was very knowledgeable and friendly. The cocktails were great. Overall great experience!
It’s great and very expensive .. it’s very mina and like all His other places which are super high quality
We went here for date night and enjoyed our dinner here. Food and service was great.
We have gone to RN74 every year we are in Seattle for ECCC. The past years have been amazing in every way. Amazing food, wine, and impeccable service. This year was less memorable and the service was very slow. The food wasn’t as good and the personality of the restaurant was different. It wasn’t a bad experience but not as enjoyable as previous years.
WOW! What a wonderful evening we had celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary! Our special evening started with a congratulatory greeting at the front desk, followed by a card from the staff at our table with complimentary champagne. Our server Jacquie pampered us throughout the evening as we enjoyed sharing the 70 day aged ribeye. Our mention of a strong interest in wine led to a brief tour of their wine cellar, followed by some wonderful beignets and caramel sauce accompanied with some glasses of Royal Tokaji - a new treat for us, and one that we plan to repeat! All in all, a great experience with our special thanks to Jacquie! We will definitely revisit RN74 every time we are in Seattle!
Great food, cool environment!
This place is awesome. One of our favorites in Seattle and a staple for when we want a nicer meal.
I went to RN74 through a recommendation from my boss. He knew the people who worked there personally and thought it would be a good fit for my birthday dinner. The people at RN74 went above and beyond. Our server, Ryan, was knowledgeable and professional, as well as, fun. Jeff helped us with great bottles of wine and Thomas sent us out so much delicious food we were bursting! My sister, cousin, and I left very satiated. Thanks so much!
Our server got slammed right when we sat down. We were stuck waiting without even drinks for 25 minutes at our table. The floor manager noticed and stepped in to take our orders. At this point, we felt rushed since we were going to play. We quickly ordered. The food was good but with the exception of the duck which was amazing, it was all just okay. Our server felt defeated after his manager stepped in so he was never very friendly. All in all, only an okay experience with a very high price tag.
Great place and food, staff was excellent , tuna tartare was the best I have had
Drinks were very good, the service was excellent and the atmosphere was good. I did not enjoy my meal very much. My girlfriend's dish and our appetizer were good though. I would consider giving it another try and order a different dish.
We enjoyed a leisurely dinner. Everything was well prepared and delicious. Service was friendly and professional.
Little frustrates me more than when a restaurant takes reservations and doesn't work to honor them. We made a reservation for 6:30 prior to an 8:00 show as RN74 is near 5th Ave. Theater. Timing would have worked quite well but it took them nearly half an hour to seat us for our reservation. When we were sat we asked to order immediately and noted the time constraint. "No problem" we were told. However, we received our food five minutes prior to having to leave. What we were able to eat was quite good, but I hated paying for food I wasn't given the opportunity to enjoy. If you take reservations, please treat them seriously. In the end, I simply can't recommend this restaurant.
I don't normally take the time to leave reviews, but I love this restaurant.. It is a favorite. With all of the great restaurants in Seattle, this is one restaurant I continue to return. Consistent. Definitely great for out of town guests too. I don't normally order steak (I think there are more interesting food choices), but I now order the steak/frites. The Hangar and the Strip are the 2 best steaks I think I have ever had (the au poivre sauce is great too!). The French75 was too tart for me, but then ordered a Paper Plane and it was perfect. The Sommelier helped with a great bottle of Pinot Noir (usually too light for my preference, but it was full and delicious!) He took the time to explain the region of France it came from and how I should request Pinots in the future for my palate preference. The first bottle was "corked". He had already determined this so we would have never have known, but took the time to have us smell the cork and then taste the corked wine so we could taste the subtle difference in the future (it smelled and tasty a bit musty). Beignets! Yum! Tuna tartare tartare! Yum. I usually like the seared Foie Gras as well, but did not have this past night. RN 74 is definitely a favorite.... have been going there for years.
Very loud! Almost impossible to carry on a conversation.
food was pedestrian with over priced menu. nice ambiance with ok staff. we ordered flank steak and seafood. my husband had his steak ordered medium and it came out rare and cold. They put it back on the fire and came back with medium well and without the herb butter and the french fries really oily. The mac and cheese was too salty for our side dish. Did not bother to complaint.
Foie gras was perfection!
Great food, extensive wine list. Excellent service. Always worth visiting when in Seattle.
I have eaten here before, but this time found the service to be very slow, and the food nothing special at all. We arrived at 6 for a 6:15 reservation because we were going to see a play. It took us almost 2 hours to complete the meal. We were there on a price fixe meal offer, so nothing special as far as meal prep. The copy on the ad said we'd be served a 3 course meal, but what was actually listed on the vouchers was evidently different than the ad copy-what we received was 2 courses and we were charged another $22.00 for dessert. Between that, and wine, coffee, tip etc. the $80.00 meal turned into $200.00. For $200.00, I can assure you there are 10 other places we could have eaten at within a 6 block radius that would have blown this place away. So, we will not be back- even for Happy Hour. There are much better options.
We loved the food, cocktails and service. Which us saying a lot for my picky friends. We will be back.
Excellent service, food and wine pairings were delicious. Staff was nice enough to have a handwritten card for my wife who’s birthday we were celebrating. We had a fantastic time.
Open Table took a reservation for a time and date that the restaurant was not open, and then asks for a review of the experience. The restaurant has a good reputation. Open Table seems to have some technical issues.
Had the tasting menu and it was very good. Pacing of courses was extremely slow and the service was terrible. Server was rude and made the experience awful.
The ambiance was great at RN74 and we were celebrating a birthday. The evening started out well with a nice card on the table from the restaurant. Then it took quite some time for our server to greet us and start with waters while we looked at the drink menu. A drink was ordered and also ordered our meals.
While our salad and soups were getting cleared our server also took the wine glass that still had a couple sips left in it. We waited for our next opportunity to let them know, but some time has passed until she returned. Our next course came out and still haven’t ordered our next drink. We eventually were visited again by the server and let them know about the glass that was taken away and they fixed it by “pouring a little extra” in the next one. Not sure if they actually did but at least it was acknowledged.
The meal was what I expected from a restaurant in this price range, but it wasn’t anything spectacular. For an establishment like this I was expecting much more in terms of quality of food and especially service, I don’t think it is intended that duck fat French fries were the most memorable part of what we ate that evening.
Unfortunately, the quality of food is not as good as it used to be. Both of our dishes were mediocre. Service was excellent
Great service. Sommelier was very helpful. Directed us to a wonderful Washington wine and the winemaker just happened to be there. He came to our table and spoke at length about the wine.
I was there catching up with 2 friends I’d not seen in a while ... the staff were very accommodating, friendly and the service was amazing!
Delicious food, creative drinks and great service - never felt rushed. And also the Anniversary card at the table was a pleasant surprise 😊
What an amazing dining experience. As always, the service and quality of dining here is impeccable. We tried the RN Experience this time, a 5 course dinner which was worth every penny!
Always love this gem of Seattle.
Great service. Awesome food and wine.
My wife and I had not been out to a fancy dinner for over 6 months so we did some research and RN47 was on a short list of spots we wanted to try. We have eaten at many of the top Seattle spots and want to go to a new place. We ordered the 5 course RN chef tasting experience with the Grande wine pairing. Each dish was timely, explained to us, and presented in the highest form of food art. Each flavor was spectacular and unique. Our server Jim and the team took excellent care of us and hats off to the chef and his crew. The restaurant had a fantastic decor and ambience. Small dishes and premium price only thing hard to take but then again you get what you pay for and this experience was worth it.
Modern open vibe. Interesting cocktail menu--the Maple Manhattan was quite nice. Wine selection is reasonably priced. Filet Mignon was perfectly cooked with duck fat frites that were flavorful. Bouillabaisse was rich with good variety of seafood. Would definitely dine there again.
