Really awesome menu, great offering for Seattle Restaurant week. One of the best wine selections I’ve seen
Overpriced, too salty, service was slow. Overrated. Meh.
French onion way too salty! Filet mignon was very good.Butter lettuce salad great. Ambiance is too much like a cafeteria. Service was excellent.
Excellent service and tasty food. A little noisy.
Cozy place in the center of Seattle’s downtown. The ambience will keep you coming back, the food can be hit or miss, but the fried items are off the charts amazing! Stick to the classics, oysters, escargot and duck fat fries! Service is always friendly and in point.
This place is awesome. All of our meals were fantastic, the wine list is legendary and the service was top notch. The atmosphere is bustling, which was great as we had a business dinner for 6. I would def come back here. My only knock would be a complete lack of Vegetarian meals on the menu. Which if I had several of my other clients with me we'd never go to this place. Then again, its a french restaurant and that can be expected hahahah
Celebrating three birthdays
My friends and I enjoyed the Restaurant Week menu. I opted for the wine pairing and Foie Gras terrine as well. Everything was wonderful! We enjoyed the rare opportunity to experience a fine dining restaurant and as culinary students we used it as an educational experience as well by studying the plating techniques.
Will definitely visit for future Restaurant Week menus
The promotion from Travelzoo was treated like we went there as paupers. Service was very bad, menu and wine list restricted to bad and mediocre even the price for dinner was still outrages. Ambiance is dark and boring, no reason to visit this restaurant for such price. Especially travel to Seattle. There are many more good places with friendly service, good food and wine.
Unfortunately the Foie Gras was very salty and the bouillabaisse was cold.
It was amazing as always. Sean the chef cooks up fantastic food and James the manger welcomes you as if you entered hi home. A wonderful meal and great memories
The food as absolutely delicious. A bit on the pricey side but worth it if you don’t mind the extra expense. The escargot, fois gras and scallops were delicious.
Excellent service! Great food and wine. Thank you.
Everything was amazing - ambiance, service and especially, the FOOD! Between the 4 of us we had the Bone Marrow and Tar Tar apps, butter lettuce salad, truffle mac n cheese, a fall soup, the salmon, side of lemony broccoli and the prime ribeye. Everything was perfect. The atmosphere is lively and fun - we will definitely go back next time we are in town.
This was my first time at RN74 in Seattle. I had the filet which was delicious. Unfortunately both my vegetable and the duck fries had way too much salt. I have eaten at RN74 in San Francisco many, many times and have had these same dishes and this Seattle restaurant is good but not as good as the SF location
Consistently delicious and a great wine list. One of my go to restaurants in Seattle
What can I say fabulous food, great service, dinner at eight was a good time to go.
We tried to duck fat fries. Comes with three types of sauces. Absolutely to die for.
Our server Chris was awesome and Paul the Sommelier was extremely knowledgeable and sociable.
The waitress brought our dishes before we even had the time to order our drinks. She failed to listen to my cues at the table about mixing my food, the main dishes were brought to us luke warm (obviously they had been sitting on the kitchen counter too long), and she brought the bill before we were done. She looked bored or unhappy, and smile only once... yes! When she brought the bill. Terrible service! Food was good but not the quality I expected. The wine was superb!!!
For the price spent in a full dinner there, it is doubtful I will be back...
This was our first visit to RN74, (Wife's birthday) it will most certainly not be our last. We decided on the RN74 Experience and it was worth every cent. Our wine selection was the mid level offering. We loved every drop. The Sommelier was well versed and was ready and willing to supply any information requested. Our Server, who's name I have lost, was excellent. Not only was she on top of every movement at our table, she was warm and quite engaging. The Floor Manager was seemingly available and engaged as if we were the only table. We weren't. Being led to the restroom so as not to get lost? We loved the atmosphere and the general feel of the restaurant. The pricing is commensurate with the food/service. Check before you go to avoid any surprise.
My husband and I celebrated our 17th wedding anniversary at RN74. The service was outstanding. We enjoyed the overall decor of the space, especially the soft lighting and the train station wine reader board which “activated” at 10:00. Our sommelier was very accommodating to our tastes and dinner selections, and the bottle of wine he suggested was delicious. The food was great- my husband’s order of a petit filet was superb and my pan roasted chicken with gnocchi was excellent, except that the chicken was ever so slightly too salty, (and I usually add salt to my dishes). Our only recommendation for improvement was to lower the volume of the Muzak.
This definitely needs to be on everyone's bucket list. The food and wine pairings were off the hook. I recommend the 5 course tasting menu with Sommelier wine selection.
Service was amazing, food was lousy and cold
Venue is beautiful and service was great. Food however was lack luster and failed to
Impress. Such a shame was really hoping to be dazzled.
This was an impeccable experience. The entire team operated with a seamless, fluid, and disciplined approach to service - from arrival to departure. The menu price points were reasonable and the quality - from plating to taste - was perfect
Love, love, love this restaurant! We visit Seattle every year and a visit to RN74 to do their tasting menu with wine pairing is a MUST! The food and the service never disappoint! Eat here!!!!
As always fantastic dinner , love the bone marrow.
I treated three of my favorite men in my life out to a fabulous chef's experience dinner...and it was easily one of the best dining experiences we've ever had. The service was impeccable, the sommelier was charming and informative, each course prepared by the chef was thoughtful, well-rounded and special. We couldn't have asked for a better evening. RN74 is a MUST have experience!
The RN74 experience with sommelier pairing was incredible.
Love Michael Mina, so when I heard he had a casual bistro near my hotel, I had to try it. Everything about this restaurant is awesome, from the interesting wine list and unique twist on bistro fare and the comfy atmosphere. The service was great, and although there was one little glitch and the fois gras came out cold, they took it back with a smile, immediately took care of it and then gave us something else special on top of it to make us even happier.
Nothing wrong with the food it just wasn't outstanding, I had I think overpriced. Service was wonderful, place was dead for Friday night. Nice if you want a quiet dinner. Wine Steward and quality of wine list outstanding but very expensive
Overall, RN74 is a very nice restaurant. Service is excellent all the way around. Drinks were good and came quickly. We ordered the Escargot: the snails themselves were great, and they came with a little puff pastry atop each one, but I thought the pastry tasted a little old or stale. The concept is great because you can dip the pastry right into the yummy sauce. We also ordered the oysters, which were excellent. One of us ordered the filet and the other ordered the rib eye - both were cooked perfectly. I thought the side of bernaise sauce was so-so...not what I remembered a high quality bernaise to be, but still an OK accompaniment. Overall, we would return. It's a bit noisy because of the high ceilings, but it obviously has a regular bar-hangout following.
Phenomenal dining experience! The RN74 Experience was the absolute best! Every dish was uniquely savory. The wines were wonderful. The service was exceptional.
Excellent attentiveness from Ryan and team - Thank You! Very much appreciate Paul for the excellent wine recommendations as well - all were spot on and paired so well with our chosen plates. Steak tartare, bone marrow, and foie gras were the highlights of the food evening. Special shoutout for the opportunity to taste a 1934 Madeira - what a piece of history! Thank you for helping to make a special celebratory evening a memorable one!
Thank you for the amazing meal for my mom’s birthday! She loves RN74 so much.
Great diverse French inspired menu with casual ambiance and excellent service. Was dining with business colleagues who weren’t very adventurous so that limited what I really wanted to get. I started with oysters (deliciously sweet and smooth), followed with the roasted bone marrow appetizer (a definite treat. Would have enjoyed it even more with less of the bacon marmalade but it was devious) and had the bouillabaisse for my entree. The presentation of the latter was very unique. It came on a plate with the shelled seafood already out of the shell and mixed with the calamari, tomatoes and potatoes and topped with a perfectly cooked halibut. Then the server poured the broth around the dish to finish it off. It tasted delicious but felt more like a fish entree than a true bouillabaisse. I would have liked some more clams or mussels instead of all of the small tomatoes and potatoes. We ordered the house bread which was very tasty and served warm. Upon suggestion from our waitress, we also ordered the duck fat fries as a side for the table which was probably the most disappointing item of the evening. Most were left untouched. For dessert The fresh beignets were perfection and the big hit, while the dark chocolate item (kind of a pudding) was very rich. Our waitress was also very accommodating and special ordered a dessert only served on the tasting menu for our table join request of one of our colleagues. It was roasted peach with homemade ice cream and it was also a big hit (I didn’t even try that).
The service was slow and the quality of food mixed. I think the onion soup had been frozen.
I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone who knows French Food
Limited menu which was disappointing. Service was amazing.
Thankfully we were seated by the front door as large noisy groups in the back. Food is good, prepared well, but nothing makes me want to return but I would also go back if someone wanted to.
excellent classic steak tartar and ribeye. really appreciate the birthday card from restaurant as well as the free creme brûlée dessert (not even on menu). everything else we had was also extremely well executed. one of the better michael mina restaurants i’ve been to!
