About RL Restaurant
A warm, rich interior, RL Restaurant houses an art collection that reflects and represents a lifestyle vision of quality, integrity and timelessness - the design and cultural aesthetic of Polo Ralph Lauren. The food is not based on how exotic the chef can appear with his creativity, but on how finely tuned and balanced are his compositions -- renditions of ideas that have a history on the American Table. ****Please note that reservations are for dining room only. Bar and Patio are first come first serve.******

RL Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
I have been here twice for lunch recently &the noise level is unbearable. Very difficult to have a conversation. Granted it IS the holidays, but this week my table was between 2 of the loudest groups I have ever encountered in a restaurant in my life. A table of 4 & a table of 8. Clearly, each table had been overserved. It was so bad, I wanted to be moved. My daughter &my niece who share a birthday would not hear of it but their lunch was completely spoiled. When noise is at this level, I think it is the responsibility of management to contain it. What a shame for all of us. You expect more from a restaurant of this caliber. Taking it off my special occasion list. Great service, good food, wonderful ambiance, but if you can't enjoy it, you simply must move on.
We loved it for brunch a few years ago when we were seated at a cozy banquette. Not as pleasant at the little table near the back where waiters were constantly whizzing by. It is a lovely place, and we would go back, but I would definitely request seats around the periphery of the restaurant. And on a banquette.....
Timeless. I adore everything about RL. For our family, the ritual, tradition of a visit to this warm cozy place is so very special! In an ever trendy world don't ever change RL! Because, in the immortal words of one Mr. Billy Joel, "I love you just the way you are..."
RL is superb. :) My Maid of Honor and I went to a special lunch to celebrate the kick off of my wedding gown shopping. We sat inside the cozy little library-esque dinning space, while sipping champagne and eating escargot - reminiscent of our trip to Paris last summer.
My wife and I eat here on almost every visit to Chicago, obviously a huge favorite. I love the chicken hash and noticed it is no longer on the menu. I asked our server about it and he said they could make it but it might take a few minutes longer. It was as delicious as ever. You'll never be disappointed.
I just had to go back to RL when I returned to Chicago this week. I first had the pleasure of dining there earlier this month and so I was very happy to return. It is a wonderful dining experience. Jaffar again was a delight and was careful with steering me again to delicious gluten free choices. The entire staff is pleasant and helpful and I hope business or pleasure finds me back in Chicago before too long as I will return to RL !
Great restaurant, but not for vegans. I love RL. My only regret is that they have no vegan options. They were very good about substituting items on the sandwich I ordered. However, the price stayed the same even though the meat, bacon and cheese had been removed and replaced with veggies. I would not therefore recommend RL to my vegan friends.
This was my second time going to Ralph Lauren and it was an exceptional experience. The service was phenomenal and the food was unbelievable as it always is. This has quickly become one of my favorite restaurants and I wouldn't dare make a trip to Chicago without stopping here to eat.
Fantastic food and great service, selections are simple but tasty - emphasis is on the quality of each ingredient. Menu covers all the bases from seafood to steaks to chicken with great appetizers, salads and side dishes.
Space is very tight so don’t expect to sprawl out, you are going to get up and close with your neighbors. Overall, somewhat pricey but well worth it - a great place for lunch and dinner!
We loved the atmosphere of the restaurant, however, we were seated at a single table with one seat along the long couch and the other a chair opposite. There was a table next to us where our waiter obviously knew the guests. He stood between our tables, in a space of about twelve inches, talking with them with his backside directly eye level and in our faces. There was plenty of room to speak to and serve the guests from behind the table. The positioning was exceptionally rude and disrespectful to us.
Worst restaurant I ever ate at booked on open table. Colossal disappointment. The food seemed batched. Not made fresh. Poorly seasoned. Over cooked. I mean I could. Just. Go on and on!!!!!!The table was horrible. My chair was near kitchen exit and was bumped countless times. Ralph Lauren would be ashamed his name is associated with this unfit dining experience.
