RL Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
Our fav place - an always perfect choice. Great selection for lunch and dinner. The crab cakes are like no other in the world! Make a reservation - it’s easy to get in then. The waiters are thoughtful and attentive. Weather permitting we love to sit outside. Please RL- don’t ever leave us!
Excellent! The only issue was the organic chicken while delicious was $26 with NO SIDES. That I’ve never ever seen, and I think is a very poor value. Otherwise everything is top notch and the wait staff couldn’t have been more courteous! 6 people said “have a good night and thanks” on my way out!!!
A favorite dining place of Gold Coast Chicago. A lovely clubby feel, excellent food and polished service. The only negative is the noise level but that seems to come with success these days.
Do try it if your wallet doesn’t mind, a terrific look at Chicago’s finest.
February 14th was my 1st time at the restaurant. i really liked it. atmosphere is really nice; their design is very warn and cozy. great service, very good food. the only one thing i did not like is that sitting area is very tight.... tables stand next to each other. you pretty much seating with unknown people.... and it is pretty loud when restaurant is full... also if you have coat, there is no place to put it if restaurant is full... so probably brunch time will be better, not that busy...
Every visit to Chicago begins with lunch, and champagne at RL. We are already fans. This last visit was exceptional thanks to the incredible service by our server Nicole. She was pleasant, engaging, attentive and brought a sense of humor that made us laugh. Thank you Nicole!
My husband and I were there 2 weeks ago & had an amazing meal. While the service was stellar, I ordered the same BLT salad that I had 2 weeks earlier & was disappointed that some of the lettuce was old and brown. It didn’t stand up to my expectations. I was very disappointed
The lobster bisque was very good. Waitress was very attentive to special requests by my guests. I had a steak sandwich that was not good. It had a fatty substance that was extremely hard to chew and swallow. I was with clients so I did not alert the restaurant, however I was disappointed compared to past visits.
Always a joy to eat at RL. Service (Jaffar and/or Kyle) is top notch. It was my daughter’s birthday and I mentioned it to Jaffar and surprised her with cookies and a dessert on plates that read Happy Birthday engraved in chocolate. She loved it. My only sour note the hostess can be a little more friendly.
Sat at the bar for a while while I waited for my partner to show up. The house old fashioned was terrible, so much so that I had to switch to bourbon on the rocks. After listing to the wasted regulars cuss vulgarities for about an hour and When my significant other arrived they quickly sat us and were overly rigid with their seating and meal instructions. In the end I bought a rare $25 burger and $50 over cooked sole. Will not be back.
Wife got food poising from fish. We are nothing before or after until the following day she got sick. Talked to management to alert them and they professionally handled the discourse. However, after losing time at work worth a lot of money, speaking on two different occasions, we were insultingly sent a 25.00 card? We spend on average $400 2 times a year to have dinner/drinks here on special occasions like wedding anniversaries and birthdays. Didn’t even cover the cost of the fish. Kind of wished they never sent anything at all. Nice bouquet, tastes good, bad finish.
