Rizzuto’s Restaurant and Bar - West Hartford Ratings and Reviews
Had Sunday Brunch with my sisters, to celebrate my birthday. Lots of choices- both breakfast-type items and several other options. Waitress was very pleasant. Room was quite empty when we first arrived for an 11:00 reservation but started to fill up a bit as time went by. Food was quite good and very ample in portion size. I especially enjoyed the crab cake I started with. Enjoyable & leisurely Sunday brunch. Have always had a good experience at Rizzuto.
Stopped by Rizzuto‘s to have dinner with my wife and kids. Rizzuto‘s never disappoints! This is a great place for classic Italian food that’s not your typical pasta with mounds and mounds of cheese on top drowning out any flavor available. This is classic Italian food with excellent flavor! I had the orrechiette con salsicia and canelli beans which was on the Money! My son had the Parpadelle with bolognese. My wife ordered the spaghetti bolognese which was tasty and even my daughter, who had a simple cheese pizza, was raving about the taste. The decor and ambiance is great. We finished off our meals with Tiramisu that was delicious! Cozy and romantic if romance is in the air! Families feel welcomed as well as gatherings with friends or on a date. It’s hard to believe that they have another location in Bethel, CT that is by no means at the same caliber as this West Hartford location! It’s like
Comparing acting skills between Dame Judy Dench to One of the Kardashian’s ; not even close! Rizzuto’s is a must if you’re in, close to, passing by or just traveling to West Hartford! Bon Appetito!
I've been to Rizzuto's before. The food is always amazing. However on this night, the noise level was deafening. We couldn't even talk at our table. Our waiter could barely hear our orders. The place was packed; so asking to be relocated was not doable. I left with a headache
Excellent food, cordial waiter, but 3 weeks on the job, and missed some basics, like topping off water. Biggest issue by far- it was not a busy night, yet the wait between courses was absolutely embarrassing! We both felt they were understaffed, and the diners paid the price!
It may have been an isolated incident, but at this point I can not reccomend.
Menu had many good choices but failed to deliver. Kitchen was very slow yet waiter was attentive and friendly. I ordered a pasta dish with marinara sauce and it tasted like basic tomato sauce not even spaghetti sauce - very disappointing. Portion size good. Appetizers of mussels and calamari were very good. Overall, nothing to rave about.
We enjoyed our dinner @ Rizzuto's in Blueback Square, It was a special occasion for my brother & his wife's anniversary. Our waiter was very attentive & meals were perfectly prepared. We thoroughly enjoyed everything from cocktails through dessert. We highly recommend Rizzuto's.
I'm moving out of state and rizzutos, a longtime favorite of a dear friend and mine was where we settled on for my goodbye dinner. It was a hot humid day, and we were surprised when entering the restaurant for it to not feel cool inside. We had to wait for our table. When seated we noticed it was even hotter than by the door. It took nearly 10 minutes for a server to arrive. Prior to that a manager was chastising a server at the station immediately next to the table. But ignored us. When server arrived we asked her if the Air conditioning was operating and she said it absolutely was but the kitchen was so hot we couldn't feel it. We ordered a bottle of wine. White thinking it would be cool, and asked for lots of water. The water came. While waiting for the wine we were Reviewing the menu and my friend mentioned plans to order the filet mignon. The server heard us and came over to let us know they were out and serving a NY Strip instead. At that point my friend asked if the wine had been pulled yet. She said it had not. We opted to leave. Although it was 78 degrees outside with super high humidity it felt at least 10 degrees cooler than in the restaurant.
Sad to leave one of my favorite Connecticut restaurants on such a bad note. But the service was subpar, and the temperatures were completely unacceptable. Fortunately my friend is an excellent cook and we picked up supplies and a far better bottle of wine and enjoyed our goodbye dinner from the comfort of my air conditioned house.
Food was adequate but service was abysmal. Our waitress gave me an entree I had not ordered, had to be asked to provide bread for the table, failed to provide spoons for our cappuccino and had to engage in a lengthy dialogue with the bartender about whether or not the restaurant stocked Anisette. Although the restaurant comped our deserts, the service failure (in a restaurant that was not busy) will surely make me hesitate to recommend the restaurant to friends.
My first time there, I almost walked out because apparently their air conditioning was not on or not working, that's completely unacceptable, if I wasn't on a first date I would have walked out, it was hot and muggy inside, besides and that's a big besides, the drinks, food service was decent at best,
Food was great! The lobster ravioli was one of the most delicious meals I've had. The white wine sauce was unbelievable. Unfortunately it was 90+ degrees inside the restaurant. We almost left after being seated and post dinner I was really sweating as was the service staff. I would suggest eating there in the fall and winter.
Been here a few times and the food is usually really good. Went out for our Anniversary and had the most "meh" food there ever. The Seafood Fra Diavlo was a let down. The pasta was too firm with some of the shellfish still closed. The "Diavlo" portion was completely missing. The scallop appetizer and brulee were very nice and her meal was satisfactory but not outstanding. I figure everyone has a bad day, it just stunk that it was on our day.
