Went for our 25th anniversary and it was perfect. Definitely will return!!!
Wonderful experience with the exception of the piano player was way to loud. Food was great. Our server Eric did a fantastic job and the view was outstanding.
This restaurant has the best view in Louisville, overlooking the city from the twenty-first floor. Top notch quality food and service.
Enjoy the opportunity to dine at RIVUE and look forward to their planed remodeling. Newish Bistro style menu with great variety. Always a great view of the city while on the revolving deck.
Great location and service; food was a little pricey for the quality. My husband’s steak was wonderful, but a bit overdone for his tastes. I ordered the chicken which I enjoyed, but I wasn’t ‘wowed’ by it if that makes sense. The location and atmosphere were by far our favorite things about the restaurant, and we enjoyed dining there for our one year anniversary. It’s definitely a restaurant everyone has to try at least once!
Food was bland and the choices were slim. Even the cocktails were overly strong without good flavor. Not a great place overall.
Impeccable service, live piano, wonderful views of sunset, and the food could not be more delicious. Everything from appetizers to dessert is expertly prepared and presented.
Our server Katie was amazing. She was so knowledgeable of the menu. Very attentive to us. One of the best servers I have ever experienced. Food was delicious. Generous portions. Manager came by to check on us. . . . offered to take our pictures. Awesome place. Can't wait for our next visit.
We have been to Rivue almost every year for our Anniversary, and many times for Birthday brunch. The food has always been excellent, and the ambiance even better. Wednesday was our 20th Anniversary, and we expected the same. We were very sadly mistaken! When we got to the restaurant we were seated on the revolving side as I had requested. It was the only area open. There were several large parties, and it was VERY loud. It was also VERY cold in that area of the restaurant. Our waiter took drink orders in a timely manner, but we were not served drinks or bread until much later. When she came back to us to take our dinner orders we asked to move. We were told the section we were in was the only one open. After ordering I received a decent salad with several brown leaves. I scraped through the brown because I was hungry from not eating since breakfast. Our dinner order was taken, and we waited quite a while. When it finally came out it looked like something you would get at a Denny’s. I ordered a chicken dish. It was extremely greasy, and fatty. My husband ordered a filet. It was practically mooing on his plate. The restaurant was loud, cold, and our food was awful. We called the waiter over, and told her we were leaving. My husband told her we would pay for his drink, and my salad but nothing else. She went to speak to the manager, and returned with our bill about 10 minutes later. The manager would not even come out to speak with us which in a fine dining restaurant is unheard of. The waiter told us that they have a new chef, and that was the cause of the “bad food”. My suggestion is to fire that chef. This totally ruined our Anniversary as it was too late to have dinner, or get a reservation anywhere else. I have always loved Rivue, but after this experience we will not ever be returning.
We have dined at the Sunday brunch at least 5 times before this past week. We will NOT return.there was no bread product except chocolate croissants. I asked if they had anything else and was told they were all out. ( we were the first people to arrive ). But they did have some “frozen bread”. The selection was very poor. The chicken and dumplings had no chicken and was cold. Tenderloin was burned on the outside and raw inside.
I must say the omelet was excellent. It was the only reason I didn’t go away totally hungry.
I overheard a gentleman say “ this sure is t the way I make dumplings”
The desserts were not cooked. Very soggy
Th ambiance was great, however the food was lacking. Portions are small and lack flavor.
Food was great, the view was awesome but getting to the restaurant was a pain in the butt. We went in through the hotel, and the front clerk directed us towards the elevators and said it’s on the top floor, floor 25. When we went to the elevator, it wouldn’t let us push floor 25. The light came on for that floor and then disappeared. So we thought, let’s go to floor 24 and just take the stairs up a flight. Wrong! Floor 24 was being remodeled or something and looked like something out of American horror story hotel Cortez. Everything was under construction and a mess but no one on the level to help direct us. It was really creepy. We tried to go back down elevator but it wouldn’t come back to get us on that floor. We tried to find the emergency stairs to take up a flight and it came to a weird opening in the middle of the dining area. It seemed really strange. Good thing no one was in there other eating otherwise we might have scared them when we broke in the dungeon doors. Other than that, food was great, and Peter our waiter was top notch! He had good recommendations and was very informative on the food.
We love the Rivue. The atmosphere, the food, the views! All of it. This visit they seemed a little short handed but our Server did a nice job managing our plates at Brunch after a couple of her tables cleared out. Food was great as usual and we were able to relax and enjoy our meal.
This was our 3rd dinner at the RIVUE. Disappointed they no longer offer the wedge salad even though server said it was wildly popular. The complimentary candy cart was absent as well. We would not likely return.
The view is amazing.... however, for this to be a potential 5 star restaurant it was a little rough.... the walls need to be painted.... they are badly scuffed.... it has a dingy look upclose... the service is ok.... the live piano player is too loud, you have to yell to have a conversation.... the food was very disappointing.... wish we went to Ruth Chris instead of waiting $100.... after we left we stopped by Ralph's to get food because my girlfriend d idnt eat her food.... Terrible menu for a place with such an amazing view.
My husband and I enjoyed our Anniversary Dinner there and it was wonderful. the atmosphere as well as the food. The view was breathtaking as we could see all of the Louisville lights.
Outstanding food and atmosphere. The view from our table was amazing. Wow, what a wonderful dining experience.
The atmosphere was very romantic and peaceful,
Beautiful view however for the amount of money we spent we shouldn't have had to ask for a refill more than once. At one point our food was getting cold due to no beverage to drink with it. Unfortunately we will not be back due to the service was not $150 worth service.
Service was OK.. waitress didn’t know much about bourbon or deserts and didn’t come back for refills often even when the restaurant was not very busy at all.
The dessert bananas foster in the menu was not Hanna’s Foster. They need to rename it.
Took my girlfriend here for Valentine's day per my father's recommendation. Coolest views I've seen in Louisville. Try to sit in one of the rotating rooms if possible. Valentine's meal deviated from their normal menu but had unique food and none of our 3 courses failed to wow the taste buds. Service was also excellent.
We went there as a family of four to celebrate our wedding anniversary/Valentine's Day. Our grown sons have never experienced fine dining before. We had been there many times before on special occasions over the span of 30 years at the restaurant at the Galt House. First the reservation was for 9:30 and we managed to get an earlier one last minute. After being there we did not understand the dilemma of reservations, the restaurant was only half to 3/4 full at 6:45PM and continued throughout the 2 hours we were there. After looking at menu and ordering drinks and dinner the waitress disappeared. We had to ask for bread. We received the appetizers and our drinks still had not arrived. The scallops were warm but got cold quickly. The Porcini soup was so basic and boring. No texture, it needed a crunch of a sort. The waitress still was not around. The food came after a little while. We were served steak with Fois Gras, a non flavorful bone marrow bread breading with it. It was something to put on the plate. Steak was cooked perfectly but got cold very quickly. Fois gras was a mushy gelatinous gob of something. Mine was seared nicely but lost its flavor with the steak. Once again, had to ask for more bread, did not get refills on water or wine. Waitress was totally gone for the next 25 minutes. All of our plates we piled at the edge of the table and the hostess walking by said :"this does not look good." and took the plates away. About 10 more minutes passed and our waitress came back and asked about dessert and brought dessert menus. When she came back after a minute, she finally asked the wife if she wanted more wine. She wanted more wine with dinner not dessert. The strawberry dessert was the best dessert my son and I have ever eaten. The wife did not enjoy her pistachio dessert. We did not complain as it would have ruined this evening for my children as we wanted them to experience something we did long ago. The $400 we spent there was for the ambience only.
The atmosphere was super nice but the food, The three-course meal, was not worth $75. I ordered the chicken for my second course and it was nothing but two drumsticks and at that and some kind of gravy. My first course the braised short rib was OK .
Best food I have had in a long time. Went during Valentine's day the better half was impressed with service and food
This was our second time going and we are please every time. We love Carl!
It was a wonderful night, our server was delightful and our food was presented beautifully and very tasteful.
The only complaint I have is that I requested to be seated in the round areas and was seated just on the edge NOT on the round, we didn’t have a great view of downtown and my husband has NEVER been to Rivue so he felt “ what’s the big deal?” We were seated on the side with our backs to the Ali Center so seeing the bridges and YUM and our skyline was out of the question but seeing center of the arts building abs Humana building was delightful.
I would visit again for a special occasion but would require seating on the rounds!
We had a enjoyable Anniversary dinner. View of the city was beautiful.
Valentine day celebration/ engagement celebration
As always, very nice place, great atmosphere and excellent service..
Our server was pleasant but was rushing from table to table and not connecting with guests. I had the Braised chicken and my wife had the filet. Both excellent.
Everything was good but our server was not. We learned more from the tables around us when their server was talking. Beautiful view of the Ohio River Valley!
As we celebrated our last 'normal' Valentine's Day before heading off to the Navy, we carefully selected a restaurant days in advance. At first glance, the reviews and menu made it an amazing choice, yet we still had a few other options in our hand. After seeing the entryway on the 25th floor, we were breathless. The sun and river aligned perfectly with the ambiance to make this dinner date such an amazing memory for us. We made reservations for 5:30 and upon arrival, we were paired with the lovely Jasminka as our server. She was splendid, the manager that talked to us during our meal was amazing and all of the help from the remainder of the staff helped to create the perfect dinner experience. If you haven't had the opportunity to visit Rivue, reserve a table as soon as you can. The rotating dining floor and beautiful decor combined with perfectly crafted food and drinks will win your favor as the best romantic restaurant in Louisville. I highly recommend the Goat Cheese Cheesecake.
Fast friendly service. Great omelet that I had. Variety of chesses on the tray seemed to be from local markets. Greek salad very tasty. May want to keep horseradish out for the prime rib. Asked the young lady for some and she was quick to get me a small ramekin of it.
It was amazing. We went for my cousin's birthday party. The staff was amazing and the food was great. We will go back very soon.
Having Carl as our server was incredible once again. Dinner satisfied beyond measure. Never disappointed. We went somewhere else last year for our anniversary and that will never happen again. Thank you Rivue for treating us like it was our wedding night again!
Great experience...very romantic...food was very good as was service...no complaints
Very disappointed in the seating location! Asked for revolving area - told not available. Looked available to us. Did enjoy piano music, but not directly in front of our table - as it was difficult to even hear conversations across the table.
Was truly and aww moment from the grand piano, the view and exquisite meal. It was the perfect setting of everything! Will be a regular spot for our special occasions.
Made a reservation here for my wife and I for our anniversary dinner during our stay at the Galt House. They kept to my reservation request of being seated window side in the rotating room and even included a dessert on the house for our anniversary. Cannot recommend this restaurant enough if the opportunity arises. I'll admit it can be pretty pricey by the end of the evening. But the food, ambiance, service, and the incredible view of the river and city you get from the rotating room is worth it and will make it an unforgettable occasion.
The staff was very nice and accommodating. The food was phenomenal and I'll definitely be going back.
