RIVUE Restaurant and Lounge
We had a lovely dinner last night. Food was very good. The live piano made the dinner romantic. Everything was wonderful. Will definitely come back.
Our server has been working there 39 years and was amazing
The food was good and the ambiance was beautiful because the restaurant rotates so you get every view. The steak was great, the risotto delicious, and the octopus appetizer different but tasty.
The menu is organized well for drinks and small plates or full meals. The view and rotating floor for dining was great fun and chef’s presentation: exquisite!
Loved Katie, our server. Ambiance is a little dated. The concept of a rotating dining room is from another era....however, it was unexpected and somewhat fun to goof on. Took me a little while to get "my sea legs" as the movement is very subtle however, whenever someone walks across the floor you feel the movement.
Food was good, not great.
It was definitely an experience and there are nice views of the river, but I'm not sure if I would return.
Every thing was great really enjoyable!! Would highly recommend for any occasion!!
I’ve been going to RIVUE since 2007. The bread and special butters and oils, the New York strip topped with pimento cheese and onion straws, the candy cart...imagine my disappointment when I found tonight that all three of my favorite things are gone. Such disappointment. The food was good. But was different, and not what we had hoped for and expected from the restaurant. I’m not sure we’ll be back now.
The restaurant was beautiful and most of the food was delicious. However, I ordered the crab pasta and was completely disappointed.
Always can count on RiVue for a great special occasion. Superb food and service. And there's that view. Love the place.
Food was spectacular.
To be honest, I was disappointed this time. The piano was too loud; so much that it was hard to have a conversation. I was there last year around October and there was more to choose from. The soup or salad came with the meal. I had lobster bisque. I understand the menu changes, but that was a disappointment that soup wasn't an option. The food was not outstanding like it was before. I cannot say that I would recommend it. The service was so/so. Can't say because I did not see much of the server. It was a special occasion, but you wouldn't know from the service at the restaurant.
We had a great night! Thanks Carl for making it a special night for our sisters birthday!
Went here for a date night and was greeted by friendly hosts and promptly sat, as we had made a reservation. We were greeting almost instantly by our waiter who time and again showed that he was top notch- meeting our every need. The live piano made for a romantic scene and a conversation piece. The view was breathtaking and it was so interesting that the room rotated so everyone should get a nice view of the river during their meal.
It was amazing! The rotating room was the best part of it all! You could see the entire water from the of the Ohio river and the water front. The food was amazing and the Ambiance was cool too! The duck breast and tenderloin was so amazing. I would definitely recommend this to all of my friends
The service was excellent but the food left much to be desired. The fried chicken had sat for so long that it was hard as a brick. The few veggie dishes they had were soggy and tasteless. The salad bar was nice but they were out of most items. The food was never outstanding here but this time it hit rock bottom.
Brunch today was a treat. Good variety, very fresh. Our server, MJ, was a delight. We’ll be back with a larger group of friends and will request MJ as a server.
We consider this one of our favorite Louisville restaurants! We have a fantastic time, and everything is wonderful. The view is incredible. The staff is awesome!
The service and the whole experience was outstanding. The Sunday brunch is the way to go, since it is very quiet and peaceful. Have brunch at your own pace. Our server, Peter was awesome, polite, and very professional. He's great. The variety of food and assortment of desserts was extraordinary. I would recommend you also offer bread not the white toast kind, rather French baguette, brioche. Unless I missed them on the tables.
We had an absolutely lovely evening at RIVUE. We were there for dinner while in town for our first trip to Louisville. The view was great (we were in one of the revolving areas), the food was just excellent, our server (Katie) was very friendly yet most professional, the pianist was extremely talented and helped set the ambiance, and the place itself had decor that helped create a beautiful evening. It is not on the cheap side, but for a special evening out, it could not be beat. I hope to go again the next time we might be in Louisville, and would recommend it to anyone.
The view is amazing from the rotating section. We loved our cocktails and the meals we selected. It was a little pricey for what we got but the quality was good and so was the service. The view at sunset alone is worth it!
Food was great and the service was outstanding. Servers were courteous and knowledgeable.
We greatly enjoyed brunch and look forward to attending again.
Fantastic brunch experience... very few brunch items on places in Louisville and this is a must
I recently took my girlfriend here for her birthday on August 10. The entire experience was definitely one to remember. Our waiter Cody was very respectful and accommodating and overall just a good person. The food was some of the best her and I had ever eaten. We both ordered appetizers and a side for our meal. She ordered the curry pasted fried green tomatoes and mashed potatoes. I don't care for friend green tomatoes, but hers changed my mind of that. The scallops and roasted corn that I ordered could possibly be the best meal I've ever had. Dessert was the goat cheesecake for me and she was given the house birthday cake. The cheesecake is a must. I cannot say enough good things about our time here. Absolutely recommended.
We totally enjoyed our meal at the Rivue. Our waiter, Peter, was professional, attentive, and friendly. Also, the pianist was exceptional and played many different genres all night. The food was delicious and prepared exactly how we ordered it. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone and am looking forward to going back!
The food tasted good, but was kept at a tepid temperature. When you pay $32/OP, you expect better.
We where told that they closed at 10:00 so we couldn't get a dessert or anything. and when we asked for the menu we where very rudely told they closed at 10:00 and it wasn't an option. I set the reservation for 9:30 not knowing it closed in 30 minutes.
It was great
Food was excellent and the view was just as great! Our waitress was fantastic as well and the piano man played THE JAMS!
Excellent service ...excellent overall....Zach was our server and did an outstanding job
Server was great…very accommodating. Some food was very good, but some was subpar…great shrimp and grits, tiramisu, and waffles. Not so good were fried chicken (very dry), sausage gravy (too thin), and bacon (too peppery). Overall the food was good.
The ambience makes it great for a date or special occasion...although it is pretty pricey, it's a place where you feel you are experiencing something special, especially when you go in daylight. The panoramic view is spectacular!
The best restraunt in Louisville hands down. Food was absolutely incredible. Atmosphere was perfect. Thank you for a great anniversary night out.
My son just moved to Louisville, and I wanted to take him and his sweetheart, who lives nearby, out for a special meal. His apartment is in the suburbs, and while there are many very nice restaurants there I thought that a great meal downtown would let him see the city from a different perspective. Wow! Did I choose wisely! RIVUE is a beautiful, elegant, old-school restaurant with impeccable service one would expect from such a venue. The food was fabulous, the view of the river was spectacular, and the live piano player in the background set the tone for a wonderfully memorable evening. Absolutely charming! I am looking forward to my next trip to Louisville and RIVUE.
This place lived up to its expectations. It was a surprise for a friends birthday - she had invested a great amount of time to "dress up", and spent some fancy dollars for the attire.
I'm a visitor to the USA, and found the 9:00 PM last time in to be odd - considering that the sky darkened after 9:30 PM. We were greeted professionally and were served by a polite and very human person - albeit a bit forgetful (part of the very human part!)
The 2+ hours in the rotating restaurant got us three views (I think). As we were late, the live music on the piano was off. We left last - even after our server left (we requested her to get us the check and leave).
Keep this place on your list for special occasions - its not expensive, for the value you get.
Very nice restaurant
The view is to die for food was very good the waitress was over the top and made sure we was satisfied
Our server page was absolutely excellent. Our drinks were never empty and we never wanted for anything. She was always 45 seconds ahead of us. She called us by name every time she came to the table. We asked to meet the chef because we were so pleased with the food. This is a true dining experience I will recommend it to all of our Associates and Friends.
The view is absolutely breathtaking . Stephen and Nancy White
Nice ambiance is like none other
We have returned every year for our Anniversary for 7 years and have never been disappointed. Wish the menu hadn't changed and limited this year. Always a pleasure
It's become an annual tradition for our family to have Sunday brunch at Rivue to celebrate our kids' hard work over the past school year. This time, we were somewhat disappointed with the food. The main entrees were fried chicken and shrimp and grits, which didn't taste very good. In the past, there have been nicer main entrees. Also, the age at which kids are charged full price is pretty young. The view, of course, is great, and the service was pretty good. However, unless the food improves next time, we'll have to find another restaurant.
