Wonderful staff with excellent knowledge of menu. If it wasn’t for our waitress we probably wouldn’t have had the experience we did, even though it’s hard to go wrong with anything on the menu! It’s impossible to have a bad seat as the floor moved in a circle around towards the windows and at a pase to which I hardly noticed.
Beautiful atmosphere & an amazing live pianist. The service was stellar, our server Zack was the kindest, most thorough server I've had in a long, long time. The prices are a little steep but you can still keep them reasonable. And the food/drinks were almost perfect.
We went for an Anniversary, it was fabulous, the service was top notch, the food was exquisite.
New Year’s Eve. A fun night.
Such a beautiful and elegant place! Fixated on the 25th floor with penthouse “360” views, this eatery is everything and more. I was accompanied by 2 friends for a birthday and we all agreed this place is second to none within the city; food, service, and ambiance. Enjoy the experience for yourself!
We celebrated our 27th wedding anniversary at RIVUE. The restaurant is beautiful. The staff was great. Three or four people wished us a happy anniversary! The food was delicious, especially the fried green tomato. We really enjoyed our evening and will return next year, if not before.
Our food was mediocre at best.
My $45 New York Strip Steak was tough, difficult to cut and chew. The scalloped potato party was creative and tasty.
My date's Peking Duck was flavorful and tender, but barely warm.
The Bananas Foster was nothing like Bananas Foster. It was simply a banana flavored Flan atop a sponge cake with pieces of white and dark chocolate for presentation. Very disappointing.
The ambience and view were romantic.
For $160 plus tip, I expect much higher quality. I will not go back.
I have dined here before and enjoyed the food as well as the view from this rotating restaurant. We took our granddaughter here for a special dinner during our time with her. The look on her face when she realized the restaurant was moving was priceless!
The Christmas Day Buffet was excellent. Wonderful variety of appetizers, meats for entrees, seasonal vegetables and a grand assortment of desserts. And the martinis were some of the best ever!
This was the Christmas buffet and I was pretty underwhelmed with the food. There was nothing exciting or new about any of it. Some of it was good; some of it was just mediocre. The desserts were probably my favorite. The $59 a head price was just too high for what food was offered. Our waiter was fairly unenthusiastic and kept getting my drink order incorrect, but who really wants to work on Christmas Day so did not count that against him too much. We did get to sit in the revolving area and had a very good seat next to the window and have no complaints about that.
Fantastic Christmas Day option for those individuals not wanting to cook and I wouldn't hesitate to dine here any day of the week.
Great experience on Christmas.
We had Christmas Buffet Dinner for four—first Christmas after the loss of my mother and we wanted a completely different holiday experience. The food, ambiance and service mad for a truly lovely experience.
I WAS GOING TO just call the Rivue and complain but then thought this may have happened to many. We went to the Xmas buffet. The price was $50 per person,we were a party of two. When our bill came it was approx. $120, my husband didm't know what the price was so he just added our tip and we left. No where did we see anything stating there was a 20% set tip and it was added with no word. i'm sure there may be others out there that this was done
Even if our check had been right I was not pleased with my time there. They have beautiful displays of gorgeous, delicious food.....but this was Christmas....I didn't want biscuits and gravy or 3 types of salmon,I wanted the traditional christmas fare. Now there was a Turkey breast at the carving station where there was also a Prime Rib that was so bloody- ok I like med-well..but when I requested that the carver said he would have to bring it to me in a few minutes (gave he the empressinon he was going to zap it in the microwave-I said no thanks-he looked relieved
For others that mainly go for elegant cheese and desserts it would be wonderful, but not for the Holidays
Buffet. This wasn't my first time there but it was my first and last for a holiday
I'll update review when I can get through to the Rivue about the overcharge
Extremely pricey (Yes, it was Christmas Eve, so I expected high price tag and was prepared), but the very average service (at best) combined with less than average food quality was disappointing. It tasted and felt like we were being served banquet food from the hotel proper below. Too bad, the scenery is phenomenal, and especially for out of town guests, quite fun.
Christmas Eve dinner. No Goose left for our 8pm seating. No decadent deserts left.
Overpriced. Food was pretty good Not great. Service was fine nothing memorable.
It is always a special treat to eat in the revolving room. Louisville is beautiful at sunset and the service is always great. We were happy to see that Rivue was open on Christmas Eve and that friends and family were able to join us. There was a set menu with lovely choices, anyone should be able to find a good choice. I would recommend the option to have a second first choice (maybe the salad) instead of dessert as I don't usually eat that course. Everyone else in our party was happy with choosing dessert.
This is an all-around super experience! The staff are so accommodating, always a variety of food selection at the Sunday Brunch to satisfy any palate! Go, treat yourself to a wonderfu meal and panoramic view of the city!
Very romantic spot with a great view. Loved the piano player.
Christmas dinner with friend
Our waiter was nice & took great care of us!!!
The steak was a bit tough. My duck was almost ready to walk off the plate...too rare.
DON’T ORDER THE BOURBON FLIGHT dessert. We All said at the same time (while being served) You have to be kidding.!!!!!!!!!!
There are 3 different ones. Couldn’t taste the Bourbon.and .....
They were the size of a marble....for $9
Doubt we will go back anytime soon!
Atmosphere was great, so was service. The food was expensive and not very good. I have talked to a few of my friends and co-workers and they have said the same; food isn’t good. Overall I was not impressed.
We had a wonderful time. Food was excellent and the service was spot on. Great Wine & Bourbon selection. If you don't see a bourbon on their list, don't worry. Stroll over to the bar where they have more. I chose the Pappy Van Winkle 23 year.
Elegant. Unbeatable views of the Ohio River, Louisville and Southern Indiana. Impeccable wait staff. Excellent choices for seafood and meat lovers alike. Yes
The food was excellent and the service was very friendly and professional. I was nervous about going but it was worth every penny. The view is amazing. I loved every part of my experience. Can not express it enough.
Excellent views of the city. Piano player was great, playing Christmas music made evening festive. Food was excellent and price was fair.
It was a great evening with great friends and scrumptious food
Cold food, inexperienced staff and management. The worst brunch experience I have ever had. Not to mention it was outrageously expensive. I dont mind paying for quality but this place has a LONG way to go. Smh
We were not given very good service. They didn’t tell us they were out of shrimp until after we ordered it. We were not offered sparkling water. My steak was over cooked. We were never offered coffee. Our dessert was cold and hard and dry. We ordered two of the same thing and both were the same. When we were finishing up every time we would finish with a cup or plate or silver ware someone would come and grab it. We were very rushed and felt like they wanted us to leave.
Celebrating our engagement. Great dinner to end an excellent evening.
Service was great. Even with it being a big concert night the wait time for our order was minimal and the food was great.
Great date night with my wife. Great food, great view and great service.
The food was great but the wait staff doesn't seem to be very well trained. When you go to a restaurant on the caliber that Rivue is you expect certain things. I was impressed with the food quality and appearance but this does not have the same type of service you would experience at places like Jack Fry's or Vincenzos.
A bit overpriced for quality. Great ambiance. Service just ok.
I have been dining at the Rivue for years. Two of the greatest things that my family loved was the great food and the "candy cart." Well, the food has gone down hill to say the least. I had a filet, tasted like something from Golden Corral. My daughter had "lentil soup." Tasted exactly the way that dogfood smells, that's no joke! No one at the table could eat it. When I initially booked the reservation, I did so for 4 people in the revolving portion. Just over an hour prior to the reservation, I went to the hostess stand to ask for a favor. I asked that our party have two tables, one for myself and my daughter. The other, for my 14 year-old son and his official "first date." I was told: "There's no way, were completely booked, we can't do that." One of the reasons we enjoyed the Rivue was because they were always so accommodating and nice about everything. Apparently, that trait went out the door with the quality of food. For more than two hours, I watched as the restaurant DID NOT become fully seated in the revolving view. In fact, three tables directly in front of AND behind us were completely vacant. When we left, I remarked that "It's a good thing you didn't accommodate my table request, I mean, look how booked you are." Sarcastically of course, and I got no response. There's no telling how much I've spent at the Rivue over the years with family meals and large business parties. The one time I ask for something special for my son's first date, it was as if I'd asked for a free meal or something. This past Saturday night, Dec. 1st, was our last trip to the Rivue; we will never go back and we'll be taking our business to Mortens across the street where small requests are easily accommodated.
The service at RIVUE was excellent. We had the scallops as an appetizer, and Peking duck breast and NY strip as our meals. All 3 were perfectly cooked and very flavorful.
Rivue restaurant has a beautiful view with great ambiance. I would recommend this location for a date night, special occasion, or for an interesting place to dine on vacation...just take note of the dining hours. I felt the menu was good, but not overly expansive...which should allow for excellent food and service. However, I felt the food quality and presentation fell a bit short...As for pricing, be prepared to spend a little extra. The wait staff was friendly, efficient, and not stuffy...but considering the atmosphere, I would have appreciated a little more formality in service and dress code for the wait staff. Would I dine here again?...Possibly...
.maybe for brunch the next time.
*Note: I think arriving for just before sunset allows for the best of both worlds for viewing. I also would highly recommend reservations and be sure to ask for a window seat and on the revolving floor.
The vegan and vegetarian starters were delicious but the main course wasn’t as good.
Rivue is a great restaurant. The view of the city lights were spectacular. Management took time to speak with every table to confirm satisfaction with their dining experience. Very impressed with our dinig experience.
I used to love this place, but not one person in our group was satisfied with our meal. Our server was the only good thing about our experience.
