Riviera Restaurant and Lounge is home to delectable servings from Italian Peninsula with cuisines from the rest of Europe dredging the expansive menu. Multiple carpeted dining rooms, profiled with glowing chandeliers and dimly lit votive holders prime the dining experience at Riviera Restaurant and Lounge. A live guitarist adds a contemporary touch to the overall ambience. Patrons are served by attentive and non-intrusive staff.
Seafood, poultry, pork and beef are the main core ingredients on which the menu sustains. Among the customer favorites are Pappardelle pasta, lobster ravioli, veal parmesan, branzino, braised short rib, chicken parmigiana and calamari fritti. A full service bar is available at Riviera Restaurant and Lounge to enhance the overall dining experience.
This restaurant is now out of business. Wasted time with this reservation. Update your records.
It is no longer in business. We drove all the way out to calabasas only to find it closed. VERY disappointed that we were not informed and had our time wasted and then had to scramble to find another restaurant that could accommodate Us!!!!
The restaurant had a piece of paper on the door because they have permanently CLOSED. Luckily there was a nearby Mexican restaurant since we had limited time before our event.
I always really enjoyed this place
The waiters and waitresses and bar tenders
the busers and most the GC were amazing and so nice
I will miss the Riviera RIP
Closed on Monday
I have eaten at this restaurant many times in the past. I had not been there in over a year and I am appalled to see the downhill slide the restaurant has taken. Both the food and the service used to be impeccable, now they are both at best mediocre. I am disappointed, because good neighborhood restaurants are hard to come by. What a loss.
We tried the 5 course tasting menu and really enjoyed the food and wine pairings. Shannon and our server provided wonderful service. We'll be back.
We had a very nice time. It was our 48th anniversary and our daughter paid for it without us knowing. They greeted us with a happy anniversary. Service was good. Dinner was excellent. I asked for a special order not on the menu and it was no problem.
We celebrated 90th b'day of our dear friend. The food was not as great as in the past, but the service was great and our table was perfect. There was a birthday cake and candle and that was fun. Thanks for everything.
Just and FYI-We ate here with some friends last week and my husband said the Cioppino was the best he has ever had and the seafood in it was cooked to perfection.
I love Riviera and eat there for special occasions. This time I had a Groupon for 5 course dinner for two with wine and cocktail parings. The cocktails were bitter and not something we would ever choose. A couple of the dishes served in the dinner were good, but not up to the quality of the food we usually order there.
My husband and I tried Riviera for the first time last Sunday and it was AWESOME! All the service and Jack specifically was great, and the food was incredible! From the homemade bread and pesto to the Pork Florentine special, everything was fantastic! The owner of this restaurant knows how to make a culinary dining experience outstanding!
Food was excellent, and the server Chris was very knowledgable, personable and attentive. Will definitely return.
Food and service were excellent, room was quiet. A little pricey for frequent dining. We go mostly for special occaisions.
Since there's music in the bar on Friday night, we requested and received a quietier table in a side room for our party of 4. Service was attentive and excellent as was the halibut special albeit pricey and ala carte. Sand dabs and lobster ravioli entrees were equally delicious. It's also a nice place for ladies' luncheons. They have a varied menu and can easily handle parties of 10-12 in my experience.
Was not up to its usual standard. The food wasn't as good. I hope this was just a bad night and that next time will be as good as it normally is.
We did the tasting menu and everything was really very good. The restaurant is very large and it was only partially occupied so the vibe was kind of dull
The Cioppino was the best I've ever had. It was absolutely delicious.
Food is good. Hostess is unfriendly with an attitude that is not warranted. If I ran the restaurant she would be working somewhere else. Service is good and servers and bus boys are very attentive. Menu is somewhat limited for non meat eaters. Fish selections are skimpy. Veal Parmesan is out of this world. Ciopino is also excellent. While some dishes are pricey others are not.
Outstanding meal. All the main dishes were excellent . Service could have been better but it was acceptable.
This is our favorite restaurant in our area. I've never had a bad meal here.
Did not accept our gift certificate as it had split from another restaurant. That was disappointing. Good business to have honored it nonetheless. Told us to check with restaurant across the street to see if they would accept it.
Attentive staff, great food, well poured drinks.
All in all we had a wonderful time. Thanks to everyone at Riviera!
Delicious food, beautiful presentation.
Mothers Day and restaurants? Normally a bad combination. But we were pleasantly surprised. Great food, great service, great waiter! 5 star experience!!
Really miss this place since they closed. I heard another place is coming in place.
I have the best Cioppino dish that I have ever had. Always wonderful.
We had a wonderful dinner as always with friends. The only recommendation I would give is for the busboy not to take away plates until everyone has finished their meal.
It was so nice-It was our 40th wedding anniversary and we ended up in Calabasas. Food was great-service was great. It was a great evening
We've been to Riviera many times over the years. The food is generally very good, although inconsistent at times. We went on Feb. 13. The chicken parm was excellent, but the pork chop was fatty, dry and overcooked. I mentioned this to our waiter who listened attentively, said "I'm sorry, sir," then walked away. Yes, I should have sent it back, but I was hungry and just wanted to eat my dinner. This is why you can never fully depend on this restaurant for a good meal.
The food is mediocre. Best part on the dish might be the asparagus as garnish on the plate. Skip this place and try somewhere else.
This was our first visit to this restaurant. My husband had the bacon wrapped scallops and I had the Miso black cod. Both were excellent. Truly exquisite blending of tastes and textures. We will definitely be going back. My entree was so exceptional, I hope I can force myself to try something else on the menu.
A special place for an intimate evening. I took my husband for his birthday. Huge wonderful menu with some special items, great drink list and good service. It was perfect.
Great Food and Service. Ready to make my next reservation
It was my fault, I didn't notice that Thursday night was music night. Loved the music but a bit noisy for our 85+ year old ears!! Food was GREAT.
Our dinner was just fair. The noise level is LOUD. Do not expect to have a quiet conversation here. The food was fair. I like spicy food, but the spicy shrimp linguine was SPICY. All i could taste was "hot". Did not appreciate the $20 corkage fee or the fact that the service was extremely lackluster.
Once again, the Open Table reviews are not to be trusted.
We entered into a cacophonous bar, jammed with 25-30 year olds. Then, we were led into the lovely, adjoining room, where we could still hear the live music, but also enjoy conversation. Joey was our top notch server. His assistance, attentiveness, and suggestions added much to the evening. My cioppino was ample and tasty, albeit a bit mild. I prefer a little more heat. My wife's short rib was excellent. We shared one of the best wedge salads that I have had. With drinks and tip, out check came to about $132, and it was well worth it. We will return.
We have been to the Riviera a few times over the years and it is always a pleasure. Our friend, who introduced us to the restaurant originally, was having a birthday. So we took him there. We were all happy campers! The Riviera is an elegant restaurant. The food is beautifully presented and delicious. Of course it all comes at a price. Figure that a drink, salad, main course and dessert with tax and tip will come to roughly $100 per person. In other words, it's a special occasion restaurant, but worth the price.
Food was disappointing from the last time I was there. Service was excellent.
Dated decor. Nice wine list. Average service. Problem is the menu, the bucatini with steak sauce was so salty that is was almost inedible. Chicken parmesan was chicken was pounded flat into a pizza shaped disc. Maranara sauce was oddly sweet (but not in a good way). And no tiramisu on the dessert menu? Dining room was half empty at 8pm. Mostly over 60 crowd. Drove to Toscanova for dessert, dining room and patio were full, we sat outside near the fire pit, split a tasty tiramisu, great service, nice ambience. Will eat dinner there next time (or Il Fornaio which will be opening soon). First and last time for Riviera.
The food was fabulous as were the wine bottle selections. We arrived at 7 on a thurs intending to have a nice quiet dinner discussion/catchup however we were quite disappointed because the bar band/crowd was so loud, it literally interrupted our dining conversation even though we were seated in the next room. The server closed the drapes that separated the rooms but it was really futile not being a door. I'll go back again but will call first to make sure the band won't be playing.
