Tuck into delectable British dishes at the Riverside Restaurant, enjoy al fresco dining overlooking the Marlow Weir at The Lawn or for a unique dining experience. Chef Shaun has designed a sensational menu, where traditional British cuisine is created with contemporary flair.
Every Sunday, we serve our Traditional Sunday Roast, perfectly prepared and served with all the classic trimmings. Please note that during the summer months, a £10 table charge per table applies for reservations on our restaurant terrace overlooking the weir side. This premium seating offers beautiful views and a unique dining experience. The terrace is subject to availability and weather conditions and cannot be guaranteed without confirmation.

Brilliant time at the Compleat Angler for a lovely meal by the river for a work dinner on Wednesday 12th June, we had was great time the waiter Om was brilliant, he was professional, polite, efficient and very attentive serving such a large party of 15 guests, will defo be coming back again and maybe next time with family. Also Chandru his colleague was there assisting too.

Delightful location, a good menu, and staff who were polite and friendly. Service was on the slow side but, as every dish was cooked to order and well presented, my wife and I were happy. Perhaps the kitchen was distracted by the large number of Afternoon Teas being ordered by overseas visitors. The food was delicious, falling just short of memorable in my failing memory, but I will happily return for another lunchtime. Recommended.

It was a Sunday evening and was greeted with a Sunday lunch menu. When we asked to see the a La carte menu we were told no only the Sunday lunch menu. So choice was roast beef, chicken, cod or aubergine. We did not expect to have that in a 4* hotel restaurant in the evening. If we had wanted a Sunday lunch we would have had it during the day!! We had already ordered cocktails and even this wasn’t straightforward. There were 5 on offer, we asked for a classic cocktail, a cosmopolitan, to be told that they would have to check as not sure they had the ingredients. Eventually when the cocktails came we decided to drink them and leave the restaurant to find alternative dining within marlow. It wasn’t until we were about to leave that the restaurant manager asked if they could possible do us a cote de beef, perhaps they realised they would be missing out on £££. Sorry too little too late. We would have gone to the other restaurant within the hotel, Sindhu by Atol Kulthhar but we were booked in there the following night, pleased to say the service and food in there was wonderful. We found out by other guests that they were not pleased to be given a Sunday lunch menu too. So if you are wishing to eat in the riverside restaurant, check before you book as to what menu you can book from, maybe give a Sunday evening a miss if you don’t want a roast.

This is a lovely location with River views but like the rest of the hotel is in need of some TLC, all a bit faded and dated. Service was good and friendly, the menu limited but the food was well cooked and presented, it is expensive for what it is though.

It's a lovely afternoon tea but quite expensive for quantity of food you get. We walked into an empty restaurant but got put on a pretty average table when there were plenty of better options. It's a bit dated inside & chairs were uncomfortable. When I asked to sit outside I was charged £10, & outside I feel we didn't get the service we would've liked, we only had one pot of tea & one set of cakes/scones/sandwiches, just not much for the price

We had a lovely lunch in the Riverside Restaurant with an elderly person in our party. The staff were very kind and helpful. Very good service from Om, who made our visit memorable. Thank you to all the staff.

We are really dissapointed that the Fish & Chips will no longer be served in the dining room but the bar area. If this is re-instated then you would get a 5 star rating. It's really dissapointing and no explanation provided. there was also a distinct shortage of staff and therfore service was not up to the usual standard. Also there is unusually high staff turnaround.

The restaurant had a beautiful view of the Marlow bridge and weir. All the staff were excellent particularly Caldwell who went out of his way to make our visit special. Will definitely visit again.

This was a huge disappointment on a very special occasion! We booked afternoon tea in advance and then had to wait 45 minutes to be served a couple of sandwiches! Even the family who walked in 30 minutes later and ordered burgers were served before us! Not even an apology! Then the plates came crashing all over us because they were not set properly on the table and cream and jam were all over my husband and nobody even came to help!..(despite repeated requests!) Then they stooped to ask us if we needed anything and when we requested tea (as the tea had already gone cold!) and another 40 minute wait for that!! No apology! Then they tried to fully charge us for 3 people when 1 tea had dropped to the floor and the second we sent back! They were incredibly rude and inconsiderate! Such a pity the venue is beautiful but we will never go back!!
