My wife and I drove up from Denver last Saturday, to spend a relaxing weekend in Glenwood Springs. We had visited Rivers for the first time about a year ago, and had a wonderful evening then, and an even better experience this time! Our server, Mary, was delightful, and the food was outstanding. Even though we live in Denver, Rivers in Glenwood Springs is one of the finest dining experiences we have ever had. We both enjoyed the Mahi Mahi, which was prepared perfectly. We especially enjoyed the pretzel bread, so fresh and delicious. Thank you for a memorable evening!
Dinner to celebrate the end of Tax Season :) The hostess was attentive and special citrus Halibut perfectly cooked. We will return to Rivers again.
As always, a stellar meal and impeccable service. Easter brunch at Rivers is becoming our family tradition.
We had a great experience at Rivers. The service and atmosphere were delightful and the fixed menu was an added bonus. We all enjoyed our choices. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.
Mary, our server, was the best. Wonderful dining experience! We will be back.
Thank you.
Rivers Restaurant is really great! My husband and I were celebrating our first wedding anniversary. We both wished we had had a different server, but the rest of the staff was very friendly and welcoming. Just our individual server was cold to us. Perhaps because we're young or he felt we didn't order enough. Who knows? The point is: the food was great, it was lovely hearing the water flow by, and I spent an evening with my husband.
Had a great time food was great
Always great , prime rib is awesome!
Treat people right!
Always great!
Love this place
Gone for several years when we are in Glenwood Springs for our anniversary or birthdays. This year was a disappointment. Place was not busy but they sat a big group with a loud baby next to us. Food was not up to normal standards.
I had the trout dinner - everything on the plate was very good. My hysband had the fish and chips - he said it was very good. He also had the green chile potato soup - it was exceptional!
This is one of my favorite places to eat at when in Glenwood Springs. The food and service is fantastic. The gluten free options are wonderful and filling. Service is top notch. Lovely location by the river. Overall great place to eat, host an event, or just have a drink.
We were there around Halloween. The staff was in costume for a party later that evening. Our waiter, dressed like his roommate, was outstanding! Offered suggestions, attentive and was interactive with us at the ‘right’ moments. We had a great dinner and delicious DESSERT 👍
A pleasant find on a weekend trip and away from the crowds downtown.
First time visiting Glenwood Springs and wanted to experience the local cuisine. My wife and I made the reservation for 5:30pm and there were only a few patrons in the restaurant but, we were stuck by the wall and with my back to the restaurant. I don't know who else was coming but, I definitely felt like an outsider. I had the Marinated & Grilled Elk and Portobello Mushrooms which was okay as the Elk was very chewy and not well marinated. The vegetables were undercooked on my dish and on my wife's dish of Thai Vegetables. The service was pleasant but, very slow as we sat a lot in between dishes so I feel it the food sat for awhile as it was not that hot when we got it. Kind of difficult to find the restaurant location and just not sure I would come back.
Lovely dinner. Had to sit inside, too cold outside. If they had patio heatersit would have been wonderful. Great food, portions way too large though!
Absolute 5 stars from beginning to end
As always, Anita and the staff at Rivers took great care of us.
The Prime Rib was excellent, and the Halibut special that evening was awesome also.
We always try to go there when we are in town, and will definitely continue to do so.
Great choice, been there many times before. Highly recommend the prime rib
One of the nicer places in town - white tablecloth, quiet ambiance, pricey-yet-worth-it menu.
Very nice ambiance, right on the roaring fork. Good food, gray service.
Our server was super. She recommended wonderful options.
Setting was very scenic, being on the bank of a flowing river.
Finally, my wife and I were able to hear what each other was saying.
The food was very good as well.
Great view and friendly staff.
Outstanding, wish we lived closer.
Fabulous food, the view is amazing and the wait staff were wonderful! We love to go here every time we visit Glenwood!!!
After a big table assignment snafu, 15 minutes no service, things went well
A wonderful surprise in glen wood springs dining options. Casual yet classy. Right on the roaring fork river.
Very nice little surprise. Spacious inside restaurant area. Beautiful outside patio. HIghly attentive wait staff... Quality food at reasonable prices... We will be back via Motorcycle next time...
Food was good the service was excellent. We sat out by the river and it was perfect.
We live in Vail. Friends were in Aspen. Great midway meeting point. Great choice!! This is our 4th time eating here, and never have been disappointed!
I will say the food was good, not great but good. The problem I have is that the waitress was awful. We had a large party and she knew she was going to get a tip and didn't care about us. My son ordered the veggie plate and his food didn't even come till after everyone else was done eating. Then she told us it was because it took so line to cut up the veggies. Just a poor experience all the way around. I would recommend Smoke in Glenwood, much better service and the food was better.
Food was not good. Heavy excessive sauces, awful combo of flavors on the spinach salad (who puts mushroom gravy on salad?), meat was over cooked
The Rivers Restaurant is a great place to go with family, friends or that special occasion. We go to the Rivers Restaurant every time we visit the Glenwood Springs area. You can enjoy a great dinner outside by the river or inside in a quiet corner with views of the hills and river. The dining room offers a great selection including game meatloaf, salmon, trout, steak and wonderful salads. There is even a small tavern within the restaurant where you can get a great burger, if that is what you are craving. The food is amazing. Ours selections were cooked to perfection. Don't miss this gem.
Food taste was excellent, presentation was pedestrian. Example, portabella mushroom appetizer was excellent in flavor, texture and seasoning, but looked like a hockey puck covered in sauce on a plain white plate. Not very appealing. Calimari was over-fried, with a charred one left on the serving platter.
Main course, halibut, and trimmings were excellently prepared.
Waitress was green. She did not know what Flambe meant, when I asked regarding the Bananas Foster on the dessert menu . She took my fork off the table before I was done needing a fork. I caught her attention before she left the area. She handed my used fork back to me off the pile of dirty dishes she was carrying rather than get me a fresh one.
Because of excellent view and food preparation, will give Rivers another chance.
Great food and view!Early dine special was a good deal. Nice restaurant!
We loved being on the river and the atmosphere of the deck and restaurant. However the food was terrible! Both of our meals were so bad. I would recommend this restaurant for cocktails and maybe aps, but that's it. When we told the manager she didn't seem to interested. Won't be back there.
The food was fantastic as well as the ambiance. Recommend the fried Oysters, very good.
Great Meal and Great Service... I had the red trout which was AWESOME and my husband had a steak...all good. Wish they would have had a place on the website (open table) to ask if you were celebrating a special event....
I would recommend this to anyone. Both inside and outside dining would be a great choice. We ate inside.
We went for dinner it was busy and noisy because it was homecoming night but wonderful otherwise
We had a family reunion of 11 people and enjoyed a terrific meal and wonderful service. I look forward to dining there again.
