The food is amazing and staff is very friendly. Atmosphere and views are incredible. We were sitting by the window and watched Whales breaching as we enjoyed our meals.
Very special one of a kind restaurant
We were on vacation and dined here at the River’s End. It was amazing!!! Our server Rick was probably the best server we have ever had!!!!!! We will be back again!
Did the tasting menu, it was good but in my opinion just over priced.. spent $185 for dinner for two and it just wasn’t much food.
Beautiful view of the spot where Russian River joins the Pacific Ocean. Excellent food and service.
Great view, great food, good service and a reasonable menu. Highly recommend trying this restaurant for any occasion. Friendly and attentive service.
A special location in the world. Travel here to see the sunset.
Requested a nice table as it was our anniversary. Wasn't happy with the table given. Dinner was not as requested. I ordered my filet to be cooked medium well and it was very red. Our waitress never came to check on us until we were done with our dinner. Won't be going back.
Dine there regularly. Always a great experience! You can't beat the views.
The menu was limited, and, $29 for a very mediocre salad. The only food item we found outstanding was the trifle.
The servers seemed very confused about which table to deliver food to. Our waitress was lovely and enounciated very well, but seemed a bit “canned” and impersonal.
Parking was impossible, we were lucky to find a wide spot down the road and walk back up.
The most beautiful Sunsets in Russian River Valley. We never give up a chance to dine at Sunset if in the surrounding area.
Family get together on Easter. Service was friendly, but the start (order and drink arrival) was a bit slow. Appetizers were delicious and of generous serving size. Main dishes were wonderful! We ordered only one dessert, but everyone loved it! The bar drinks were well made, as well. To top it all off, the view is beautiful from anywhere in the restaurant. We all look forward to a return visit.
lovely lunch with amazing ocean views. Clams with house chorizo outstanding as was the shrimp with portabello and pasta. Great Bloody Mary and wine selection. On the pricey side but add the view and its worth it.
This place is well worth the drive for almost any occasion. We have stopped here several times on our drive up the coast for both lunch and dinner. The chef is very creative in using seasonal ingredients which always makes the tasting menus a hit. We had the spring tasting menu with crab ravioli, salad with poached egg (a first for me), lamb & cheesecake. Everything was outstanding, plus the beautiful views at the mouth of the Russian River and excellent service make this restaurant one of our favorites.
Very disappointed for the first time in many visits here. Very pleasant waiter, but something was off this time. We set aside two hours and 15 minutes to have lunch here. After an hour and 40 minutes, we let the waiter know we were short on time. However, after two hours we were still waiting for our entrées and dessert. We had to take our entrees and desserts to go. No explanation, apology, or offer to comp. We will watch reviews from others before considering returning here.
Absolutely delicious food and spectacular views!! By far one of our favorite restaurants to eat at!
This was my 3rd visit to River's End. My husband and I make it a point that when we visit the coast (renting a house either in the Dillon Beach or Jenner area) to come for lunch. This time, we enjoyed a dozen raw oysters with the River's End special mignonette (love the wasabi capers) before our lunch. Kevin had the steamed Portugese clams (with chorizo!) and I had the chef's salad with an amazing amount of Dungeness crab, bay scallops and shrimp. Fantastic! Finished it off with citrus basil sorbet - delicious! We lingered over our Chardonnay and enjoyed excellent service by Rick. We will be back!
Over the course of about 5 years we've eaten here 3-4 times (its out of our area, so we visit while on trips).
The food has always been good and the service has always been good.
On this last visit, things were very good!
We had an excellent waitress who had substantial knowledge of the food (she told us the restaurant has employees try out all the menu items) and she was comfortable making recommendations (its sad how few wait staff will do that at most restaurants).
The food was also excellent.
Overall, it was what you'd expect from a fine dining experience. Given that it's in a small community along the coast, it's a real find!
We had a great evening and look forward to dining there again when we are in the area again!
Fabulous. Incredible food and unparalleled views. Kerrie great. Can't wait to come back.
My favorite place to eat. It never fails to deliver.
Took quite a bit for server to reach our table and offer drinks. Ceviche delicious but rest of dinner very ordinary. Had to return fillet as cooked “well” when “medium rare” requested. Why during crab season can you only get a crab dish if you order the prix-fix menu AND the entire table must order it?!!? Would have liked a crab cake but not an entire menu of crab cooked every way possible. River’s End has always been our “go to place” when enjoying our coastal home . I think I will Start cooking at home and stop referring guests
The restaurant has a very special setup with panoramic windows all around. Stunning sunsets can be experienced if you time your dinner right. The food was very good. I had the duck, my wife had homemade pasta with a truffle sauce and shrimp. Both were excellent, as were the oisters. Our server was super friendly. All around a great experience.
No flowers or candles on our table, but the worst part was no fresh bread and butter. Food was very average. Would not repeat a visit - better choices elsewhere.
Fantastic food and beautiful ocean views. Been coming here for years. Lunch, sunset dinners are awesome
The seasonal 5 course crab with wine pairing was excellent! I also enjoyed sipping a well crafted dirty martini while taking in the spectacular sunset.
Excellent place for a special occasion or an excellent meal.
Fabulous. I always stop at the River Inn restaurant on my way to Sea Ranch.
The River’s End was a bit disappointing because the quality of the food was not the same as we remembered it from years back. Also the inside of the restaurant was not as quaint as it used to be. My seafood chef’s salad had a small amount of crab, bay shrimp (should be prawns) and bay scallops ( should be sea scallops) for the price we paid for the dish. As a high end restaurant we would expect higher quality seafood. The view from the restaurant is a killer view of the ocean and where the Russian River flows out. Though slightly disappointed, the food is organic and decent and as there are not a lot of restaurants along the Sonoma last from Bodega Bay to Jenner,it is one that I would still recommend for the view.
Service was great, very friendly staff and food came out fast. The food was good too. Would go again if I'm in the area
My husband & I had an amazing meal here! We did the crab menu with wine pairing and it was fantastic! Everything was delicious & beautifully presented and the wine pairings were spot on! Great value, easily as good or better than many fancy walks I’ve had in SF, but with a very chill, casual vibe. Definitely recommend!
Thank you Evan. We had a lovely birthday lunch and appreciated seeing you and eating your delicious and beautiful food. We especially loved the crime brûlée. Thank you again. Kathy Hastings
Great food and service!!! Very beautiful place and location!!
The crab 5 course was awesome. Every course had a flavor all of its own. I highly recommend dining here.
Celebrated 34th anniversary. Superb. Views spectacular and the food as well. 5 course crab dinner wonderfully prepared. Petrale sole as well. Great atmosphere and service. Can't wait to come back.
Servers were a bit distracted but food was delicious especially the dungeonous crab tasting menu. Tables were a little close together so a bit noisy and not super intimate.
Best place in the west to watch the sunset!! Food was very good! A cozy romantic place for any special occasion!!
River's End has become our go to spot for special occasions. We have found the food very good with a wide range of local selections, but we are really here for the ambiance and the Russian River, Pacific Ocean sunset views, and quiet setting. Servers are knowledgeable about dining choices, prompt, efficient and unobtrusive. Parking can be a problem, as the site is right on a blind curve of highway 1, and spaces are limited, so arrive early and be careful!
sensational food ... many items from local suppliers
appetizers, main courses and deserts are beautifully prepared
outstanding service (some staff members have been there for over 20 years)
rain, fog or shine, the view is always memorable
the owner "Bert Rangel" knows how to make guest feel welcome and well taken care of!
by far my MOST FAVORITE RESTAURANT North of the Golden Gate Bridge
Amazing food! Great views and service.
Get there well before sunset to really enjoy the views. The parking is limited but the food, service and ambiance is worth the drive. Be sure to make reservations too. We went on a Tuesday before sunset and were glad we had made reservations as they were already packed by 5:15. This is a fairly small restaurant but the kitchen turns out interesting and delicious dishes.
we spent 3 nights at the Rivers Inn and ate dinner each night at the restaurant. We enjoyed all aspects of our stay and will return.
