Such a special place, food outstanding and it’s the place to see magnificent ocean sunsets.
The table by the window was wonderful to view the beautiful sunset. The food was delicious and the service was great.
Great food and service
Can't go wrong. This spot checks all the boxes. Make sure to make a reso.
23rd wedding Anniversary here
Beautiful views but it was foggy
DELICIOUS food! Had the king salmon & homemade fresh pasta & prawns, ceviche & the bread.
Staff & service was top notch
Will definitely go back
Rick was an amazing server, super polished with impeccable service. The grilled heirloom tomato salad, ceviche, filet mignon, prawn linguine, all delectable but the crescendo was hands down the creme brûlée! So looking forward to coming back in Fall for the crab!
Amazing food, courteous and knowledgeable staff, beautiful views. We will definitely recommend to friends. We had the wild king salmon seasonal dinner, it was cooked to perfection.
View is awesome. Rick, our server, was perfect, will return and recommend to friends and family.
River's End is a great stop on Highway 1 or a destination for either lunch or dinner. We made it a day trip from San Rafael and had a delicious and leisurely lunch while watching whales breach outside the windows. Our server was pleasant and helpful, and both the salmon chowder and the vegetable napoleon were excellent.
Great evening! Amazing salmon. Perfect service. Lovely views.
Magnificent food with a view. The beet salad , Prawns with pasta, and Salmon dishes were amazing. The corn with the salmon was a unique flavor to die for. Service was so grand. We brought in a bottle of Chardonnay and they provided a ice bucket to keep it properly chilled. $20 corkage fee. Our little corner table by the window was perfect. Been there before, never disappointed.
Unique and personally special place. One cannot separate the beautiful location with the restrauant's operation; they are both in harmony. During salmon season especially.
Love the place!
Fantastic food and wonderful service, and of course we enjoyed the ocean view. Food is presented beautifully.
Prices have gone up significantly and now exceed most other restaurants for the same dishes. The wine pour for $12 was stingy.
Liked the food so well the 1st night that we went back the next. 2nd time we sat in the solarium. Sun did not beat down as the window seat the day before. Exquisite food!
We ate here 14 years ago, on my birthday. Finally made it back again (same month). Won’t wait 14 years for next visit. This restaurant is amazing. We had elk steak last time; elk riblets this time. Cooked perfectly; served with wild mushroom spaetzle, baby carrots with pearl onion, and poached pear. Want it again! The raw salmon appetizer, which we shared, tasted as good as it looked; and the creme brûlée’s were among the best we’ve ever had (should have shared - not the usual small ramekin). Our waitperson, Sarah, understood how we wanted the meal to be paced, and made very good beverage suggestions. Looking forward to coming back soon.
WOW and WOW. Did I say WOW?! The food, the service and the view. The perfect trifecta that cannot be matched. If at all anywhere near Jenner, CA please do yourself a great favor and MAKE that reservation. You will not be disappointed.
Great service and food. Our waiter was very attentive.
Have been going to Rivers end for years, the Lamb burger was bland and we were very disappointed.
In the past we would have given them 5 stars all across the board
Spectacular setting, exquisite cuisine, personal service. Such a treat!
Salmon season is here and it is not to be missed at River’s End! (Comes with a relatively high price tag though)
River’s End is a surprise package. Both the inside and outside are rustic, but with a sophisticated dining experience. The setting is spectacular, with a wall of windows and a deck overlooking sunsets and the convergence of the Russian River and the Pacific. We had an outstanding local salmon dish special, as well as one of the best vegetarian entrees I’ve ever had with a vegetable Napoleon on crisp farro. If you are ever in the western part of Sonoma, don’t miss this restaurant.
We come here every year for a special birthday dinner. Food and service is always outstanding. Got our reservation made early so we could ensure a table for two right on the window for a sunset view.
So happy to see my absolute favorite starter, the roasted beet salad, still in the menu. So beautifully prepared and a mouthful of delicious flavors.
Frankly, it was perfect!
A window table, (my wife’s Birthday), a fabulous meal, great service! And did I mention the views?
What a delight! A stunning view, the food was creative and delicious, great service... the whole evening was very relaxing and enjoyable.
For great views, an elegant but not fussy atmosphere, inventively prepared food, and lovely service, we highly recommend River's End. Arrive early and enjoy a drink with ocean views on the balcony outside. Very atmospheric.
It was a fantastic way to celebrate our anniversary. Good wine, food and sunset over the Pacific. Could not have been better.
This was by far one of the best restaurants to
Excellent place. A 4.5 and not a 5 only because the night before we had been to a restaurant that knocked our socks off.
Incredible view and excellent food and service. Parking is a bit limited.
You cannot find a better place to watch the sunset, The service is excellent, they have mastered the art ofntiming service of courses around the sun setting to encourage guests to take a moment, go out onto their deck. Watch the sun set and then service resumes- it’s very impressive that they have built this into their service times, course firing in the kitchen.
I had the best best salad i have ever had in my life, followed by salmon caught right outside the property in the rice, and elk!! Elk!! I have never tried before but it was incredible.
They embraced us bringing our own wine, some restaurants won’t allow or allow, charge a fee but the servers are funny about it, not here, we walked in and they immediately offered to open our wine, allow it to breath while we took in the sun set and even brought it out to us on the deck..
They embrace the local flavors and and the seasons and build their menu around it which is fantastic.
Our server was the best server we met on our trip and we spent a 2 days in Napa valley and a day in Sonoma and some very high end restaurants, but the meal here, the experience here and the view- it was by far our most memorable experience- and if you are from out of town and have the chance, stay in on of their little cabins next door to the restauarnt- makes the experience truly magnificent-
It’s my favorite restaurant- and i will always go back there whenever i am able to....
Every dish was nuanced inventive and delicious while maintaining the local NorCal sense of freshness and flavor
Great pasta with fresh veggies. Sat facing the water, watching the sunset and spotted a whale!
The view/location makes this a very romantic spot. The delicious food matches up to the level you expect from the setting. A great place for a low-key but special night out.
It's the best place to watch a sunset while dining and sipping wine in Sonoma County State Beach.
The River's End is an amazing restaurant. The view of the Pacific over the mouth of the Russian River is amazing. The wait staff is friendly and knowledgeable, with a non-intrusive attentiveness. The food was superb. The salmon dish we ordered was well-balanced, with a mix of complementary flavors and textures, and perfectly cooked. Highly recommended.
Second time dining at River's End and it was again fabulous! Arrived early to watch the sunset and got a bonus - some gray whales were playing in the ocean. After being entertained by the whales, we were treated to a wonderful dinner starting with the Duck Confit rolls, then main courses of fresh Salmon and the Filet. It's rare to find a place that has both great views and great food, but River's End has both!
Outstanding food, start to finish. Service was equally fantastic! Ambiance is only 4/5 however, for after the sun goes down, the fluorescent lights from the open kitchen window portal overwhelms the romantic, cozy atmosphere of the dining room. That and the absolutely abysmal parking situation keep it from being a perfect score. If you go, try for a time that isn’t the rush, or you may be walking up the highway after parking some distance away!
Our dinner at River’s End was a beautiful day and the views were breathtaking. We even had the pleasure of watching whales breach the ocean while we sipped on delicious wine/cocktails. The service was impeccable too. Our server was so gracious, friendly and informative and the food was delicious. My filet mignon was cooked perfectly and melted in your mouth like butter. Everything tasted so fresh. My mom’s salmon was a little bland on taste but was moist and the forbidden rice was really good. All in all it was a great experience and I will definitely be back for their crab season.
This restaurant is outstanding in spite of its limited menu. The salmon was over the top as was the gravlax salad, YUM! We shared a duck appetizer again very tasty and shared the special salmon.
The waitstaff was excellent and very helpful!
When making the reservation I had ask for a quiet front table with a good view as it was a romantic date night. Instead we were seated in front of the kitchen although we could still see the ocean across the room. We were however seated by a large party with several young energetic children. I asked if we could be moved and was told no they were sold out. This was at roughly 5:10 pm. We made it through and will definitely go back again.
Excellent meal (Southwest salmon, duck confit rolls, peach trifle, Viognier), great, friendly service in a low-key, down-to-earth setting with a lovely view of Goat Rock Beach, the Guerneville River, and the Pacific Ocean. Appreciate the friendly service and the birthday wishes for my friend who was celebrating her special day!
