Riverpark Ratings and Reviews
This is our second time at Riverpark and they did not disappoint. Ed the GM was courteous and efficient. Our server John was friendly and made the guest of honor, my friend turning 40, feel very special. The food was amazing, the lamb was tender and perfectly prepared. We had an amazing night and will definitely return!
I came with my boyfriend for his birthday. The staff were very friendly and even offered to take our picture for us. The waitress provided us everything we asked for. The atmosphere was truly romantic and I'm glad we found this place. We got the pork for two and it was delicious.
The Bar is quite close to many tables which could be a problem for conversation. Water was warm and took awhile for them to bring some ice. Service was a bit amateurish for a expensive restaurants and i found the selections..."strange." Given the view , i would recommend but with caveats.
We've eaten here several times and like the innovative menu but this time the meals were overall a bit underwhelming. The crudo appetizer was excellent but the squash was just OK - the crab was fresh but not interesting. The duck entrée was especially good - soft, tender, tasty. The dorade was good, nothing special. As usual the staff were very friendly and accommodating. The wine list is great but could use more selections in the $75-100 range.
Celebrating holidays in NYC. Started the night with an excellent meal. Food was delicious, wait staff was attentive, yet not hovering. The chef accommodated a vegan diner in our party easily. Particularly loved the lamb chops and cereal and milk dessert. Creative and scrumptious.
We had dinner with friends visiting from Japan. Two couples and each of us shared an appetizer, pasta and entree. The appetizer (peekyboo crab w/custard in squash) was not good at all. very fishy and flavors didn't meld well.
Our 2nd course: pasta was very good though: smoked chicken w/cavatelli. My friends also liked their pasta (w/mushrooms). However, very disappointed with the 3rd course: entree. The scallops were good, (my friends) but the branzino w/prawn was just fair (bland?) and extremely small, even though a 1/2 portion. This was a Sunday night and I wondered if the regular chef was off.
Drinks: Aperitifs: Margaritas were good. Wine selection was also good and the Sommelier suggested one that we all thought was very good (Bergström 2015 Cumberland Reserve, Oregon Pinot Noir).
I might add our first waiter seemed not to be informed on the menu; could not answer basic questions on the menu nor the wine list. He eventually brought us someone more informed on the wine . Our bill was @$ 400 and we still tipped 20% because it is expected. We thought the meal was 'fair' and overpriced and there was nothing to rave about except the pasta and wine. Dessert (maple creme brulee) was good though. This restaurant was the only restaurant my friends wanted to go to on their 1-day trip in NYC, as they heard good reviews about it in Japan and really looked forward to it. Unfortunately, it was disappointing.
Our experience was great from the moment we made the reservation. Riverpark emailed me to confirm the reservation and to ask for any special dietary restrictions. My husband and I were taking my mother out for dinner during her visit to NYC. He and I are both vegetarians, so it was nice to alert the restaurant to this ahead of time. When we were seated, the waiter already knew to offer us accommodations, including any of the regular meat dishes, with mushrooms as a protein substitute!
Every dish was superbly crafted, with extra attention to detail. It was obvious that the kitchen staff puts energy into preparing each plate specifically for the individual diner. As a first course we ordered a very nice and refreshing salad, as well as a delightful burrata cheese dish that was so simple and yet didn't need to be complex to pop. We also tried all of the vegetable side dishes and each one was elegant and delicious.
The desserts also did not disappoint. The dish that stood out was the "Cereal and Milk," a dark chocolate ganache exterior that oozes a vanilla malt when you cut into it with a fork.
The manager Ed came and checked on us several times, and was very friendly and genuine. I would definitely recommend Riverpark to anyone looking for a quiet and romantic fine dining experience that's off the beaten path.
I have been to dinner several times. Each time the food and service was impeccable. The room is gorgeous. And happy hour at the bar before dinner is a treat. The bartender and waiters are friendly and extremely competent. I was thrilled when I discovered it the first time. Make sure you go to first avenue and 29th street and make a right. It is in a commercial building but really great dining. Anything you order is delicious.
We chose Riverpark for David’s retirement lunch for its consistent quality and impressive service. Riverpark is sophisticated yet casual. The quality did not disappoint (loved the Burrata, Curried Carrot Soup, and the Zucca pasta), but our server seemed to be a novice in that he seemed reluctant to agree to the simplest substitutions. This seemed strange since Riverpark has never been anything less than accommodating in the past. While our server was completely competent and polite, the warm service we had come to expect was lacking. This was especially disappointing given the momentous occasion. They printed one menu with “Congrats David!” but presented it to another guest whom our waiter mistakenly assumed was the new retiree. All in all, we shall continue to recommend Riverpark, albeit a bit less enthusiastically.
My wife took me here for my birthday after hearing about how fantastic the food was and boy did this place deliver. We were sat in a semi-private cozy window corner as the snow came down and it was great. Not only was the food top notch but so was the spectacular service we received from our server Vlad. What I did not expect, for a simple birthday, was for the manager Ed Torres to come to our table and wholeheartedly greet and thank us for coming in from so far. Ed made sure our dining experience was nothing less than fabulous by suggesting dishes we would have otherwise never ordered. Ed also did a wonderful job of pairing each meal w an appropriate glass of wine and thoroughly explaining why and the region it came from.
Summarily, this place is a hidden gem in a neighborhood we would have otherwise not ventured to but the food and service is absolutely worth the trip here.
We have been to Riverpark around five times for dinner. The food is truly outstanding as is the service. The staff is very welcoming, warm , and friendly. They take service and hospitality very seriously.
Riverpark's menu is wonderfully seasonal and the food is prepared beautifully. No matter what I order, I am always amazed at how simply delicious and expertly executed each dish is.
If you have not been Riverpark, you are missing one of the best restaurants in Manhattan- and I have been almost everywhere.
Riverpark really delivered. It was my wife's birthday. The hosts greeted her at the door with a big happy birthday and every staffer did the same throughout the night. They even had a custom menu for her with Happy Birthday _______ written across the top.
A nice quiet table by the window (too bad it was snowing), excellent service and quality, tasty food made for a great night out to dinner.
Thank you so much for the nice evening in your restaurant. The service was excellent, the meals were fantastic, tasty and really very fresh. It costs a little more than other very good locations but once a while you can do it and with that service.... fantastic.
A near-perfect Thanksgiving dinner! I suppose the only improvement I can think of would be if the restaurant itself was in a less office-like setting, but overall the food, the drinks, and the service all more than surpassed my expectations. I would definitely return for another special occasion in the future.
