My wife said the puree under her scallops was so bland and devoid of any taste and my daughter's lobster roll was heavy on the onion light on lobster
I visit this restaurant several times a year. Recently has the pappardelle with lamb ragu and it was excellent. Always friendly and attentive waitstaff.
Great date spa great food great service but a little high in price but overall a good place
Nice lunch. Had a pizza appetizer, which was very good. Ordered soup and sandwich which consisted of tomato bisque, and a truffle grilled cheese. Grilled cheese looked good, but I had to send it back because the cheese wasn’t melted. It was congealed. When it came back properly melted, it was delicious. My friend got the lobster roll. It was pretty skimpy for $30. Tasted good, but nothing great. That needs some work. Dessert was the bread pudding, which was very good. Drinks were good, service was excellent.
we were seated next to huge noisy party and we couldn't hear each other talk.
Great food. Nice location. From start to finish it was a great experience.
This restaurant is a great place to meet friends to catch up. Never rushed, food is served quickly in perfect
Portions and when the patio is open, a lovely place to dine. I have enjoyed everything I have ordered over the numerous times that I have dined here. I will return again — for a drink, lunch, dinner, and/dessert. Love it!
Everything great except that it was a bit overpriced
First I was served flat club soda. When i tried to give it to busboy he refused and said waiter would have to take it. It took almost an hour to get our appetizers. Mussels, gnocchi, shrimp cocktail; all very good. Main dishes also very good: quail, squid ink linguini, tuna. Then desserts: beignets delicious. Chocolate brownie so dense and rich it was inedible. Cappuccino very good. Only problem the waitress never brought milk and sugar for coffees. Too expensive for such shoddy service. Too many other good restaurants. Won’t be back.
Check in was anything but smooth but we were finally seated after some confusion. We waited 30 minutes for our orders to be taken. The food was ok but the service was terrible. We order the same drinks as our neighboring table and one of the drinks appeared completely different. When we inquired about the difference with the waitress, she told me they could make another drink. Upon her return with my new drink, she was sure to mention that both the old and new drink taste the same. Which they certainly did not. Will not be returning.
Really bad experience. Table booked for 8pm. Nobody took our order until 8.45pm and that was only after somebody complained. Extremely slow service and barely anyone stopped by our table from that point onwards. Eventually left at 11.00pm but we only ate two courses!?!? Food was fine but nothing special and definitely not worth the long wait. The thing that makes me upset is that the majority of staff are hard working and attentive. It is all down to bad management. Certain areas of the floor were obviously over stretched and management did nothing. There was also a gigantic party of about 50-75 people at one table and no extra staff to handle them. So anyone who knows anything about restaurants will tell you that group will likely monopolize your whole service and all other groups will be neglected. The kitchen will be backed up with orders for that one group. That is why any other restaurant would have stuck that group in a private room with extra staff and with a set menu. But this place didn’t do that. Seriously, it was one of those nights where all the people at other tables started talking to each other about how bad the service was. The management of this place really don’t know what they are doing.
I think that when you are booking a large table, please make sure we have a server.
So although the food was tasty (everything is tasty with tons of butter) it’s the service that was terrible. Our server was nice but there were not enough servers on schedule . Our server was overwhelmed as she was covering many tables and had been called in to work as a favor since they were short staffed. Again this happens at restaurants and I understand but unfortunately was the factor that brought this review way down since it was very annoying. We were celebrating a special occasion and spent a lot of time waiting.
It’s pricey and loud. Fine to meet for a drink and maybe an appetizer.
Food was good but the service was completely subpar. Our waiter cane to take our order then we NEVER saw him again.. half the tables food came out and then 15 minutes later the rest came out.. we would definitely not return here for the price.
An beautiful riverside deck on which to enjoy a well crafted meal, and impeccable service. Our waiter, who hails from Jamaica, transformed our experience from having a meal to engaging in an experience. He enhanced what was already an outstanding evening to an extraordinary one.
Great for brunch. Nice varied choices. Prompt service.
I would definitely go back for a special occasion. It is a little pricey.
Fabulous!!!!! Can’t wait to go back
Overall, very solid. A fairly upscale dining experience without being snooty. Went for brunch with a party of six. My soft-shell crab BLT was spot on. Everyone else was happy with their dishes, though a burger ordered medium trended toward rare. Excellent beer, wine and spirits program. Sky’s the limit with some bottles, but enough for mere mortals to choose from.
This was my second visit and I would recommend this restaurant but not the dish I ordered. It was the River Market Calzone and the sausage was grisly, very unappetizing.
One other caveat - the room freshener in the bathroom is highly perfumed. If you are allergic as I am to perfumes you will suffer from a visit to the bathroom.
We were really surprised at the caliber of food here. The burger was one of the best I've ever had. And my son said the pizza was fantastic. Would definitely go back.
The food was good. It just was not as good as my first time I ate there.
Our server Ricardo was excellant. They were very understanding when a couple of our party were very delayed. The food was was very good.
Always a very nice meal and experience. The one thing I can suggest, more affordable wines on the wine list. When you have to search for a wine under $100 it is not good. I respect the quality of the wines on this list but there are very good wines at the $50 - $80 dollar range.
LOVE this place. Only problem is that it does get noisy when busy.
Very nice place.. we have been there a couple of times .. good ambiance, nice setting.. bar tenders could be a bit more friendly..
We had a lovely brunch outside, as the weather was mild. The brunch menu was small and less expensive than the lunch or dinner. However, one of our party ordered the lobster salad (one tail and a lot of greens) for $48!! Much too expensive. Noise level was not a factor, although when I stepped inside it was quite noisy. Service was almost too good. Wait staff came around often, asking how we were doing, but they didn’t hover. I think the prices are steep for the quality of the food (which is very good but not extraordinary.) I recommend RiverMarket if you want to splurge for a special occasion.
Good environment but slacker service.
My family and I had a nice evening out celebrating my moms birthday. Food was good but expensive. Server was friendly and knowledgeable but disappeared for long periods of time. Will definitely go back but won't be rushing.
This time we sat inside as we usually visit during outdoor dining season. Delicious burata with beet salad... only request would be for the burata to not be served so cold. My gnudi ravioli were so delicious... and we just got back from Italy having eaten really great food so it's saying a lot as to the tastiness of this food. Of course we had to finish with the warm Nutella fudge brownie & vanilla ice cream which was too decadent...yum! Love this place we'll be back of course!
Went for a bday dinner with my husband and son on a Monday night. We had a lovely table, friendly server and food was EXCELLENT. Best wood fired pizza and handmade pastas. Will look forward to
Coming back in warmer months when outdoor is open.
Been here many times and it’s usually better, food was just ok. Two green salads split for four had fresh ricotta on toast. Mussels were good, chicken and salmon was ordinary and the lobster roll good. Service was attentive but hubby says that even when it’s mostly empty it’s slow.
The restaurant was very busy on an early Sunday afternoon. We had reservations and were seated right away. Our server was not too attentive. After we ordered we had to ask for water. The restaurant had wine glasses on every table and was clearly pushing the wine instead of water. Halfway trough our meal we asked for bread. Every table was given bread and butter. Yes, we asked for butter on the server’s next pass. The chicken ceasar salad had various sizes of cut chicken breast. Some pieces were a full quarter of a breast while others were almost bite sized. The salads was drenched in dressing. The chicken was cooked nicely, not dry or chewy. The portion and the price were large. A smaller size would satisfy. The leftover was wasted. For the noise level and price it wasn’t worth it. Perhaps a different menu item would have been better
Good food considtently!! always a little noisy and busy with lots of families but that’s to be expected . the only shame is they have a cute little shopping area and there’s never anyone to check you out so I was planning to buy butter and bread etc. but there was no one at the cashier So I walked out empty-handed so shame that they offer such fun food items but it’s not easy to buy it
Prices should be 10% lower but it’s a great meal
Excellent food and service in a busy, vibrant restaurant with great views of the the Hudson River and new Tappan Zee bridge. Nice selection of specialty drinks and farm to table food selections. Even though we were there on a busy night, the wait staff and kitchen were able to handle the crowd perfectly. Definitely going back.
Love the food here. Service could be a bit more attentive. And the noise needs to be brought down. Especially the loud rock music chosen for background ambiance?!?
This was our first time to RiverMarket and it won’t be our last. All aspects of our meal met our expectations and went above. One of the highlights was our specialty cocktail, the “New Old Fashion”, outstanding!!! Can’t wait to go back.
Great food, great service, fabulous wine list....the best evening...thank you.
