A NICE SPACE AND THE SERVICE WAS GREAT. THE SPECIAL WAS A GOOD VALUE AND I LOVED THE YORKIES. THOUGHT THE ENTRES WERE PRICED A TAD ON THE HIGH SIDE. THE FOOD QUALITY WAS VERY GOOD. WE WERE IN THE DINING ROOM, NOT THE PUB. WOULD GO AGAIN.
The service is just perfect. Very helpful without being cloying. And being on the waterfront makes for great views.
Beautiful setting. Ok food. Service could be better.
Food was excellent, nice evening beautiful sunset. The pub has been nicely renovated but we ate in the wine room I was a little chilly in that room but they had heaters placed around the room. They were a little understaffed, but we were looked after nicely and had a wonderful evening
We had to wait 2 hours for our meals. My husband had to go and find the server to bring us a
second cup of coffee and all the servers were all in the River House Pub as there were more
customers in there. No we were all very annoyed. A couple came in 45 min. after we did and
they got their meals right away.
While the pub is under renovation the restaurant has the bar moved in which changes it a bit. Looking forward to trying this restaurant again after the pub is back Feb 2018 and they’ve moved out of the restaurant.
Was totally disappointed it was a New Years date, first date and it was like eating in a cafeteria setting. I think I would have preferred to eat at White spot. Their Kale salad had greens a couple of small scoops of garbonzo beans, no comparison to anywhere else. My dates portion was child size and he is a big man. Totally disappointed!
Visited for New Year's Dinner and as usual with our visits to RiverHouse we enjoyed the service and the food - never a disappointment.
Took a colleague here for a Christmas lunch. We were seated next to a very large noisy group so it was difficult to have a conversation. It took nearly an hour for our food to arrive but when we finally got it, it was delicious. Our server was very friendly and we understood how very busy she was. I would definitely come back again, but will choose a quieter time of year
The food was awesome. It was better than what I expected
I made a reservation for my four year Anniversary and it was a magical night. The food was wonderful. Ambiance was romantic, even watched the sunset gleaming off the water. Service was superb as well. Made for a perfect night. I would definitely recommend it to all my friends :)
Great place for seafood on the river.
Service was slow to start, after that acceptable. Servers are friendly which adds to the relaxing atmosphere. Food was average, and for that a touch too expensive. The good thing is that it is not noisy, so one can have a conversation while eating or afterwards. The setting is good, parking plentiful and so you get away from the huzzle and buzzle of downtown or more centrally located restaurants.
Perfect for birthdays!
Did the Tuesday dinner date and enjoyed every bite .
Food great as always. Great service and friendly atmosphere
Our service was excellent, we did have an early dinner though. Our waitress was extremely pleasant. I enjoyed the online reservation, nice and easy.
Food was awesome and staff is friendly on the restraunt side(had not tried the pub). Had to ask for silverware as it was used for our appies. Quality food for a reasonable price. Will go back to see if it is the same.
Food was good and menu ranges from burgers to seafood. Vegetarian stuff would be good. Patio LOVELY on a sunny summer evening. Beer choices excellent. Good setting overlooking small marina and Deas Island. Service can be good or not so good.
Treated my Mom to a night out and the River House did not disappoint. Great food, friendly service and wonderful ambience. A true Delta treasure!
Service was amazing, the food was fantastic. A great local gem
My wife's salmon burger was good.
My Ribs were warmish, at best and the coleslaw was at room temperature (should have been cool or cold).
The service was minimal with no water refills and my wife had to go find the waitress in order to get a finger bowl for the ribs (it arrived cold).
We I love this restaurant! Looking out at the boats on the river is relaxing. The food was excellent and served hot. The waitress was very accommodating and personable. The hostess was also very good, and we felt welcome.
We so enjoy the Riverhouse.. Always a good meal and always a pleasant greeting..Outside or inside you can' go wrong.
Their Citrus salad dressing is to die for...
would like to see a larger version of their side salad as it is very tasty..
Seafood club is a winner...
Before submitting this review, I did submit an email to the restaurant, to which I didn't receive a response. Let's start with the good. The view is amazing, and the patio is spectacular. I've been several times, and if you're going for beer and a burger, or appies on the patio, it's a good choice. However, if you're going for the restaurant and a nice dinner, the Riverhouse has made some cuts recently (between March and now) that are noticable, and detract from the dining experience greatly. We went for a birthday dinner, and we usually order a drink first, then dinner. We said to our waitress that we'll start and when we're about 1/2 way done our drink, we'll order dinner. We were done our drink and waited a good 15 minutes for our waitress to come take our food order. Things were very slow. We had our kids with us, and asked her about the kids prime rib, which we ordered in March. She said no, it's not on the menu, and when we said we'd had it before, she went and asked, and sure enough, it was available. My 12 year old opted for an adult meal, so we didn't have that. But in a nice restaurant, why not give the kids more than chicken fingers? The real bad part came when our meals came. The prime rib, while delicious, came with INSTANT POTATOES. So we paid $39 for prime rib, only to come with fake potatoes? The real kicker is that when you drive in, you have potato fields on both sides of the road. In March, the potatoes were real. So maybe $39 for a meal is not enough to be able to serve real potatoes with your food. At any rate, I am disappointed I never heard back from the restaurant, and hate to slag a local restaurant in the process, but I probably won't be back unless someone tells me they're serving real potatoes. I can deal with a 2 hour dinner but when I am spending top dollar for a meal, I expect everything on the plate to be real, not fake.
We had visited your restaurant several years ago at a friend's suggestion and we enjoyed it. So it has been awhile since we visited. However, we decided to bring that friend for her birthday and were not disappointed. The staff were great and the service was great and we did appreciate the Birthday treat. Thank you
Service was a little on the slow side but the food and drinks were delicious and the Riverhouse has a great ambiance.
Lovely setting, especially on the terrace overlooking the water. Good food. Very pleasant outing.
Service - Food with sunny outdoor setting was very good!!
Sat down for 15+ minutes without anyone taking food order. Left without ordering.
Great Canada Day party!
Drunk loud woman right next to us where annoying. We where not in the bar section. Main section inside was unbearaly hot.
Service and food quality continues to be a problem. Had to return my food because it was too cold. They forgot about my salad order. Waitress was lovely and friendly...seating on the patio was wonderful.
The server was very pleasant but unfortunately very slow in attending to our needs. Our prawn appetizer took over 30 minutes to arrive at our table and dinner was almost a full hour from the time we ordered. One diner had the cheese board as an entre that offered roasted garlic. The garlic was basically raw and inedible. 2 of us had prime rib. The plating looked nice but the meat was tough (I chose not to finish mine), and the vegetable sides were very undercooked. 4th guest did not get their seafood casserole until the rest of us were half way through our meals. Sadly, a 'sorry' from the server is not really a satisfactory response. I doubt it was her fault.
Waited forever for coffee at the end of the meal. Dinner for 5 was $280 including wine, and a tip. A lot of money for what we got.
Service was deplorable as we waited almost 30 minutes to get a drink and were forced to order food at the same time to avoid further wait time. It did not seem terribly busy and honestly no reason for such a wait ..food was good but paid 17.00 for a very mediocre salad. All in all would not recommend
Our first server messed up our order on three items and didn't even know the menu. Took a long time to come back to us with answers. Luckily a senior server took over and was great. I have heard this complaint from several friends. I will still go back though.
Good spot for having lunch with family. They were very accommodating to our 7 month old grandson.
My wife and I went to the Riverhouse on an impulse and we were not disappointed. We have been to there many times and it is always enjoyable. The wine list, service and scenery from the deck were all first rate. It was a warm spring evening and the sunset over the marina was outstanding.
We were a party of 8 there for a family birthday. Although the restaurant was rather empty, they crammed us into a table that comfortably seats 6 in a corner. The drinks were slow arriving, the service in general was very slow and the food was very spicy even though there was no mention of spice in the menu. My husband's roast beef was over done and the accompanying side order of seafood to go with the beef didn't arrive until he was nearly finished his meal. It states on the menu and website that groups of 8 or more are automatically charged a gratuity of 18% (which is fine) but we felt that the service was lacking and they didn't care because they knew they were getting a gratuity regardless of the quality of the service. I'd heard about this restaurant for some time and wanted to give it a try, but sadly it's not a "do-again". Very disappointing considering that it's rather pricey.
Great evening on the patio!
