RiverHouse Pub Ratings and Reviews
I had booked the pub on line by accident I actually wanted to book the restaurant . Once there we decided to go into the pub for a drink before dinner. Once I explained to the waitress what had happened she took very good care of us, made sure we had a seat outside on the restaurant side
Had always wanted to try this restaurant having seen it from the highway, also a co-worker endorsed it! It was my birthday so my husband & I decided to give it a try..it certainly didn't disappoint! It was a lovely day, so we sat on the deck looking out to the marina, the food was amazing, I had a seafood gratin dish with side spinach salad & my husband had a caesar salad with blackened halibut.
Would definitely go here again!
I booked through the website and thought I was booking for the RESTAURANT for Father's Day, I even phoned to confirm I had made a reservation in the RESTAURANT as I was a little unsure about booking online. I was told that YES I had made a reservation at the restaurant. Secondly I had seen that they were offering a buffet for Father's Day, but not being a fan of buffet's asked if the menu would still be available - SURE they said. Showed up on Father's Day only to find out that we were seated in the PUB side and that NO MENU service was available. The food was COLD, STALE and lacked any flavor. Our server told us that tea, coffee and JUICE was part of the buffet price but charged us for juice anyway. Overpriced and disappointed!!
I forgive the retirement party as they were having a lot of fun but it was noisy. The food was no better than average and my seafood casserole was very dry. We have been to the RV many times. This was our first time in months and the standard has slipped badly. Won't be back soon.... if ever.
The service was great, the food was amazing! I had the RH Chop Salad with Blackened Hailbut. The salad was a very entre' size full of veggies, and the Halibut was a generous portion that melted in my mouth! My boyfriend had The Seafood Pasta with Gorgonzola Sauce...OMG! Just thinking about the bite I had is making my mouth water, I'm going back this week just so I can order that! The view is beautiful, the staff is friendly, and it's just a great place to go.
My review is actually for the restaurant. When I made the reservation for a group of 6 I thought I was reserving a table in the restaurant. Although the restaurant was expected to be full the staff accommodated us very nicely by moving tables around and finding a lovely corner for my group.
We went on a Thursday evening - four people.e - and decided to order off the tapas menu. All the selections we shared were wonderful - great presentation and excellent taste. We had a nice view of the boats at the adjacent marina. This is a peaceful spot, and the servers created a relaxing dinner atmosphere for us.
My husband and I took our moms to the Riverhouse's dining room side for Thanksgiving dinner. We had a lovely meal and our moms both loved it. The food was very good but I wouldn't say it was exceptional. However, given the location and ease of getting there with our family, we'll definitely be back.
I've been to Riverhouse many many times. This was a lovely warm Thursday evening having dinner with friends. It was a little distracting to have the restaurant manager packing up the seat cushions and moving tables and chairs around that would normally be done at closing time, while we were having our meal. A little disappointed in the value of my meal compared to other restaurants in the area.
We were not very inspired when we first perused the menu but ordered the seared tuna to start which was delicious. Then I had the cajun chicken on a ciabatta with salad and was quite happy with it. My husband had the oysters and fries and was satisfied with his meal. All in all, it was a good meal.
We were so disappointed, we were looking forward to a Thanksgiving dinner in the dining room at the Riverhouse we even brought 2 guests with us to enjoy the restaurant. When we arrived they informed us a private party of 65 had the use of the dining room so we would be seated in the pub.
The turkey dinner that we all were looking forward to was 2 slicess of the rolled turkey on drsg with just a very small amount of gravy on th turkey. We had to ask for more gravy for the mashed potatoes and more cranberries. The pumpkin pie they served was very dry and not tasty at all.
All in all it was a very disappointing Thanksgiving dinner will not trust them again.
Because OPEN TABLE had a special availability site for NYE dining, we made a reservation at the River House unaware that we were booked into the pub side, not the restaurant. This was a disappointment since it was a special night. Perhaps this site could be updated next time.
The room, setting were good but the whole experience was fair, mainly because the food was just average. Would I go again - probably, to see what it is like in the evening, to give it another try (and perhaps to check out the experience of sitting on the deck).
