   Food was great! The waiter who brought the meat to our table and serve was very polite. Inside of the restaurant was very very cold.. everyone was staying with their coats on… Two doors were open maybe that was why or maybe that is the concept.. who knows:)

   Nice staff and energetic ambience. After 2 rounds of tequila I was in cloud 9. Mushroom items were 10 on 10 in main course.

   Toujours un plaisir de revenir chez River Roast lors de nos passages à Chicago. La nourriture reste excellente, avec des plats savoureux et généreux, et le service est impeccable. Une adresse fiable où la qualité ne déçoit jamais.

   Great place for fun, destination dining and fantastic entrees. Everything was awesome, except one appetizer. Really amazing staff, super personable and easy to understand and just as easy to like. Would have been 5 stars for food except 3 or 4 of the pork belly bites were ice cold, directly out of the fridge or freezer. Clearly someone was going too fast on that one, lol. Or if half of the appetizer was supposed to be cold (I think not), it should state that in the menu. Noise level is noted as 'Moderate' given the rather loud threshold for Chicago restaurants. In our hometown of Ft. Wayne, this would be considered "LOUD!" but in Chicago, it's merely "Moderate". :). The cedar plank salmon was absolutely wonderful, if not way too much portion-wise. Would like to see that item as a half-portion for those of us that like to order realistic portions, but what do I know? Pot Pies are AMAZING and should not be missed! Roasted Chicken was super savory, as expected. Chicago is known for great steaks and River Roast is no exception - great steaks and not their speciality. Complementary slice of chocolate cake (birthday girl in our party) came without ordering it and with a birthday candle in it! EVERY waiter was superb and several interacted with us. Made my daughter's birthday meal special. Fairly expensive (not overly so) and worth it if you value fine dining experiences. OH, and you can sit by the Chicago river, dining al fresco on their ultra-cool riverside patio if weather and room permits. Recommended and know that all the portions are big enough for two healthy adults.

   River Roast was very good, with tasty good and friendly staff. The few negatives…our appetizer had significantly more dip then bread and we were told we would have to order another to get more, and they were out of several things (an entree and a common addition) by 6p.

   It was mouth-watering soon as we entered the Lobby! Great experience. Early Lunch indoors with the perfect breeze. Service and Food was 5*

    The view and the service made everything worth it! The ambience was very good both inside and outside, food was also great but pretty pricey. The service was spectacular as well.
