2nd time I’ve went in a month. Got Andrew as our server again and he was great like always. The filet was really tender and really good, the mashed taters and gravy was fantastic. Had a really great time for my birthday, food came out reasonably fast and was great. If you’re worried about spending a lot but afraid the food will just be ok don’t worry because all the food is great and the servers know that menu front to back, at least mine did. If you’re going to a place like this your food is always gonna be great. My girlfriend and her friend got the king crab and they loved it, the cornbread is really good. She always tries to get extra lol, but seriously we’ll probably start coming more often.

Let me weave you a tale..

We’re from out of town, just wanting to get away and drink some bourbon, eat some good food. We found both here in Louisville, the food was amazing at Riverhouse but little did we know we’d get service that would go above, beyond and even save us from being stranded.

After we had the best experience with Andrew as our waiter (he got all our good angles in the photos he took for us - air dropped AND FRAMED said pictures, hyped up our food choices, didn’t judge us when both me and my boyfriend took down enough food for a family of six) he saw that we were still hanging around the front desk an hour and a half after our meal ended because (no shade to Uber but..) no Uber’s OR taxis were available to take us back to our hotel. After checking on us five times, Andrew wouldn’t have it. So he took it upon himself to FIND US A RIDE HOME by his own accord and enters in Graham, another waiter at Riverhouse. “It’s not weird, we do this all the time”, says Andrew. We had no reason not to trust him and honestly no other option at this point beyond walking in the rain in a city we don’t know so..

Graham greets us without hesitation and says “yes, I’ll be your driver tonight, meet me in the front - get ready to party.” Five minutes later he pulls up to the front of the restaurant blasting Frank Sinatra from the front seat and honestly, the car was cleaner than most Uber’s we’ve been in. Already 5 star review. Graham was hilarious the whole ride so we felt like we basically got a dinner and a show out of Riverhouse. After we safely and expeditiously get to our hotel, Graham turns around and hands us his number scribbled in blue glittery gel pen with a final word of “if an emergency comes up and you need a friend, here’s my number!”

So basically, we had a really great experience and can’t recommend the food, but more importantly the outstanding service we got from Andrew and Graham at Riverhouse.

The food was excellent, service was a little slow but not terrible. The seating on the patio was a bit uncomfortable. The chairs were like sitting on plastic picnic chairs.

Our family has always liked this restaurant. Saturday night, however, two of us ordered the filet mignon, and both filets tasted like FISH!! Maybe the filets were stored near the fish? Whatever the case we couldn’t eat our filets.

River House offers great service and food. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone!

Very good restaurant for date night with friends, the three different signs and just opened second restaurant were a little confusing but service was great and food was too. A little bit much on the portions, but if that's the only knock then it's fair to say this is a fantastic restaurant.

We were there celebrating our Anniversary. You would think we would get a nice quiet place . They stuck us in the bar area by a party of 16. . They people were so loud we couldn't get out of their fast enough.
I ordered a white zinfandel. It came out red and tasted like church wine. Wasn't impressed!
They waiter wasn't aware of the Friday fish special that wasnt on the menu but was on the web site. . Had to fill him in. Over all the service was good after that. I will be sure to request a window seat next time.

Great food and service

Every thing we ordered was just fantastic!!
A little pricey , but such good quality , was really worth it!
Our only suggestion , please offer more main courses and sides with less spicy seasonings. Many people have GI issues , and can’t tolerate Ole’Bay or a lot of pepper in their foods (3 in our party that day had GI issues).
Other than that , we loved the fire pit , and covered patio area!

We very much enjoyed our dinner at River House. The food was excellent, as well as the ambiance and service.

The Crab legs were a disappointment. The first and second orders were cold. The last order was hot and tasty. Veggies and potatoes were good. For such a high price Crab legs should have been better

After we were seated our server never came to the table. We sat there for 20 minutes and then left. Very disappointed

Food was amazing and our service was exceptional! Will be back!

We enjoyed my wife's birthday dinner here. Great spot for an awesome dinner and drinks with friends.

We came here because we had heard so many wonderful things about this restaurant, and it did not disappoint. The service was wonderful, and the food was great. I had a grilled sirloin steak with the added lobster tail and It was delicious-slightly over cooked- but nevertheless, still wonderful food shared around some wonderful friends and family!

Delicious Chilean sea bass. And the risotto was absolutely amaaaaazing! Service was great. Awesome experience!

Crab tower AMAZING. Waitress wasn’t bad but on her time . We had hair in my Girlfriends meal . They remade the meal And gave us our 2 cocktails free .. still a good night . Also cornbread is also amazing !

The food was amazing and the service was awesome. Our waiter was very attentive and helped us through the menu since it was our first time there and overall it was a very enjoyable experience.

Everything about it was great. We were seated quickly. Food came out at a good rate, we were checked on often and the food was outstanding. If you’re willing to spend the cash it’s definitely worth it. Will be going back on the 27th for my birthday.

Great food, great ambience!

The food was great, I will not speak negatively about this. However being Valentine’s Day, it was one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had at a higher end restaurant. In my reservation, I asked to kindly place flowers on the table a few weeks in advance. Which I was prepared to pay for. The River House came up short and did not deliver. Also, it would’ve been hard to place anything extra on the table we were seated at, being the table was maybe a tad bigger than me and my wife’s plates combined. Stuffed in a corner of the restaurant, against a window that felt freezing to the touch. Me and my wife were shivering the entire time. The bread that is initially served at the beginning of our meal, was given to us in a to go box, which still sits in our fridge now. Overall, it is terrible to say this but it was the truth. Frankly I would not come here again under special circumstances because of our recent visit. Possibly another restaurant may treat us with better respect that what we were given on February 14th.

We came here for Valentine’s Day and we had the most amazing delicious experience. We had a wonderful server who made the experience even better. Thanks for the fun night!

Took the wife for valentines day. The food was amazing, the restaurant very nice and the service was great!

This is the second year we have eaten here for Valentine's Day but this year we brought another couple and they are picky eaters and they loved it.

We had a very nice evening. Sat on patio next to fire pit which was wonderful. My wife is always cold and fire was awesome. Food very good and server attentive.
