The cuisine and surroundings of River Grille are contemporary and dynamic. Unlike many gourmet establishments, River Grille speaks the language of stylish value. River Grille Ratings and Reviews
Despite making the reservation a month in advance our table was “shoe horned” into the vestibule area just 5 feet from the hostess podium. The table placement put us with the incoming dinner guests and appeared to be an afterthought on their part. The food was good but the service was spotty. Rarely are we disappointed with Open Table selections however this one was truly a leet down and we will not be returning.
First time to restaurant, scheduled dinner for my wife's birthday. Very nice environment and atmosphere, and food was very good. However, service was very poor even though restaurant was only 1/3 occupied. We didn't receive our appetizer, and the server didn't even acknowledge till we looked at our bill and then she noted that she didn't include the charge...but no apology. Server never came back around to refill drinks, check to see if we needed anything during our meal, and when she finally came back she just asked if we were done...never asked if we wanted desert (which I did note on my reservation that it was a special occasion and for my wife's birthday).
Again, very clean and nice environment and great food at reasonable price...just poor service during this first visit.
River Grill is a very nice place. We were there on a Thursday night and I thought it would be busier. I had the crab cakes which were good, but I have had better. My wife had the Kansas City steak which was excellent. It could have used a little more seasoning, but it was cooked perfectly for medium. We split the peanut butter bomb desert and it was really good, not too sweet. Our server was very pleasant and did not interrupt us too often. Overall we had a very nice dining experience.
First time there. Pre concert dinner....loved it! Great food and atmosphere. The menu had something for everyone (chicken parm for my 10 year old and chilean sea bass for my 13 year old). The service and personal attention was amazing!
We will definitely be back.
Eight of our family members got together for Mom's birthday.....RG still one of her favorite spots. Tuna, tilapia, salmon all were hits.....as usual! And the wasabi mashed are to die for. The staff helped us out with our birthday cake as well. Service is always polite, knowledgeable and efficient. Well done....again.....we'll be back!
Service was outstanding and timely, wait service was friendly and engaging. Manager stopped by and was very cordial. Food was excellent, both taste and presentation. Decor, including the open kitchen was very pleasant. Definitely an eating establishment I will recommend and will return in the future.
Stopped in before a show at the Williams Center. The wait staff was super attentive and handled a few last minute requests from us wonderfully well. The food was all great. One characteristic of the main room is that as it fills up it gets very loud, a combination of a lively crowd and hard surfaces.
This was for a business dinner and the food was great as always. Waitress was very patient with us as we "solved the World's Problems" prior to ordering. Only downside was that even though it wasn't that busy we had people seated right next to us so our conversation wasn't as private as i had hoped it would be. My fault for not asking for privacy when we were seated. Overall a very nice experience.
This used to be our staple “go-to”, always had great food and service. This visit we were seated and out the door in 43 minutes! The salads were drowning in dressing and our pasta dishes lacked any flavor. It would appear the focus has shifted to their sister restaurants in town.
Although we really like this restaurant and love their food, this is the second time that we’ve been there but drinks or added onto our bill that we did not get iamb not sure if this is a problem if this is somebody trying to get extra money or what but we caught them again
Our table had 3 different salads......all delicious, nicely sized, loved the dressing.......pasta dishes were delicious, as was the short ribs meal (no knife needed for the beef). The short ribs entre was not listed on the website......a nice surprise, glad I ordered it. Staff members were friendly and very accommodating......impressed when the chef (or manager?)stopped by our table to see how our meals turned out. Oh yeah......apple cheese cake and chocolate peanut butter deserts were scrumptious. The restaurant visit wasn't inexpensive, but we (4 of us) agree that it was worth the price, compared to other local restaurants.
An overly attentive wait staff. Once you put your fork down, someone takes the plate away . No one asked if we were done. Also, cocktails were ordered. No one asked if another was wanted. Food was good but M.O. was too speedy. I would have liked my experience to have taken more time.
This was my third visit to River Grille. This time we were placed in the rear of the restaurant where it was very noisy. My husband and I wanted a nice quiet dinner. When we were asked to be seated away from the noise we were told that they only had high tops near the bar available. So we took that. Unfortunately the bartender was also the waiter so we had a tough time with service. He was obviously very busy.
This was my third visit and this is the first negative review that I have left. We had a show to go to at 8pm at the State Theatre and we were late getting there because the service was slow.
