River Grille Ratings and Reviews
Eight of our family members got together for Mom's birthday.....RG still one of her favorite spots. Tuna, tilapia, salmon all were hits.....as usual! And the wasabi mashed are to die for. The staff helped us out with our birthday cake as well. Service is always polite, knowledgeable and efficient. Well done....again.....we'll be back!
Service was outstanding and timely, wait service was friendly and engaging. Manager stopped by and was very cordial. Food was excellent, both taste and presentation. Decor, including the open kitchen was very pleasant. Definitely an eating establishment I will recommend and will return in the future.
Stopped in before a show at the Williams Center. The wait staff was super attentive and handled a few last minute requests from us wonderfully well. The food was all great. One characteristic of the main room is that as it fills up it gets very loud, a combination of a lively crowd and hard surfaces.
This was for a business dinner and the food was great as always. Waitress was very patient with us as we "solved the World's Problems" prior to ordering. Only downside was that even though it wasn't that busy we had people seated right next to us so our conversation wasn't as private as i had hoped it would be. My fault for not asking for privacy when we were seated. Overall a very nice experience.
This used to be our staple “go-to”, always had great food and service. This visit we were seated and out the door in 43 minutes! The salads were drowning in dressing and our pasta dishes lacked any flavor. It would appear the focus has shifted to their sister restaurants in town.
Although we really like this restaurant and love their food, this is the second time that we’ve been there but drinks or added onto our bill that we did not get iamb not sure if this is a problem if this is somebody trying to get extra money or what but we caught them again
Our table had 3 different salads......all delicious, nicely sized, loved the dressing.......pasta dishes were delicious, as was the short ribs meal (no knife needed for the beef). The short ribs entre was not listed on the website......a nice surprise, glad I ordered it. Staff members were friendly and very accommodating......impressed when the chef (or manager?)stopped by our table to see how our meals turned out. Oh yeah......apple cheese cake and chocolate peanut butter deserts were scrumptious. The restaurant visit wasn't inexpensive, but we (4 of us) agree that it was worth the price, compared to other local restaurants.
An overly attentive wait staff. Once you put your fork down, someone takes the plate away . No one asked if we were done. Also, cocktails were ordered. No one asked if another was wanted. Food was good but M.O. was too speedy. I would have liked my experience to have taken more time.
This was my third visit to River Grille. This time we were placed in the rear of the restaurant where it was very noisy. My husband and I wanted a nice quiet dinner. When we were asked to be seated away from the noise we were told that they only had high tops near the bar available. So we took that. Unfortunately the bartender was also the waiter so we had a tough time with service. He was obviously very busy.
This was my third visit and this is the first negative review that I have left. We had a show to go to at 8pm at the State Theatre and we were late getting there because the service was slow.
As always, the food was excellent and exceptional.
Unfortunately, our waitress seemed confused throughout most of the meal. She walked away from the table after getting only two of the three drink orders. She wasn't friendly at all and questioned our my husband when he walked over to her to add a Caesar Salad to our order saying we had already ordered three appetizers. It was strange. The young man who delivered our plates to the table didn't smile and was not friendly.
We don't expect to be fawned over when dining but the interaction with both individuals was surprising and disappointing.
We hadn't been in a while and came for our anniversary with another couple also celebrating their anniversary. The back room was SO LOUD and there was a large party that even louder than the normal level of the room (open kitchen, wooden, floors, high ceilings) that we asked for our table to be moved. We couldn't talk to each other without yelling. The party left before another table became available so we stayed at our table. The staff was very accommodating and understanding. The food and service were excellent. I would return, but NEVER sit in the back room.
It was incredibly loud and we unfortunately were seated next to a group of six that were excessively loud. It made it very difficult to carry on a conversation. The service was excellent at the start of the meal and by the end was almost non-existent. Not our best dining out experience.
We recently visited for the first time and with a group of 11 people. The restaurant is a lot larger than I thought and they accomadated us well. As a matter of fact, there were several large groups eating in the same room and It didn't feel crowded at all. Our waitress was wonderful, handled all of our food questions well. She was knowledgeable about all the dishes. The food was superb!! I definitely recommend the lobster sliders (appetizer) and the Salmon main entree with Risotto and spinach. It was to die for!!! The food was so good we contemplated going back the next day!
There was a small hiccup at the end and it was due to no fault of the waitress or staff. We asked the bill be split up by each couple. Their computer system mixed up all the orders but we were able to fix it in the end. This had no bearing on my vote. They still get 5 stars in my book!! Can't wait to go back!
