About River Grille
The cuisine and surroundings of River Grille are contemporary and dynamic. Unlike many gourmet establishments, River Grille speaks the language of stylish value. River Grille is known for its energy and design. High ceilings, marbleized columns, minimalist paintings all contrast against its striking stainless steel open face kitchen. River Grille Ratings and Reviews
The service was ok enough. Food was not.
The coconut shrimp was like a frozen entree - not special or tasty - the sauce was ok but nothing special.
My wife’s fish was decent but the potatoes were meh and nothing special, like a fair diners home fries.
My Bolognese was too peppery and tasted like oregano - not good at all, was a burn in my mouth and not a good kind - I like spicy but this was bad. The pasta itself was over cooked. I never send food back unless it’s undercooked. I sent this back and did. It want anything else.
They were good about taking it off the bill and offering me something else but i would not want to go back - was pricey for what we had.
The food and service was excellent as always. i have eaten here for special occasions and just for lunch and for business meals and i am always pleased by the food and service. I recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great meal. The homemade sorbets are always excellent!
On this occasion, River Grille presented well prepared options by a server who was attentive and gracious. Where it falls short is in basic underderstading of seating, customer deference, and intrusion:
Having reservations for late lunch this past St. Valentine's Day, we were escorted to a table near a group of young mothers with a child by an indifferent hostess. The restaurant was almost empty, but there we were, listening to loud chattering until the customers left.
The staff then prepared white linens, and proper place settings and red St. Valentines Day napery on all ol the tables around us while we were still dining. Our table was set as any Applebey's would be. Having made the effort to secure a reservation, I would have expected a proper table setting in a more suitable area.
Music was tasteful but intrusive.
In summary, our lovely occasion was diminished by unnecessary oversights and lack of commitment by an indifferent staff.
Absolutely horrendous! Worst experience EVER in all my 52 years of dining out in all the numerous countries I've traveled. One of our friends had his steak overcooked, we never asked for it to be removed from our bill, when the staff was clearing the table, they asked if he wanted his uneaten meal & he replied he would bring it home for his dog. The manager then offered to remove it from our bill, enough said...or so we thought. After paying our $260 bill in cash, we finished our coffee & dessert, a man then approached our table & began arguing with our friend, accusing him of using foul language & being disrespectful to the staff. This man NEVER introduced or identified himself. We were so unbelievably blown away by his actions we proceeded to leave. He actually followed us out of the restaurant & continued to argue with us on the street. He was so unprofessional & inappropriate & actually got right in my face with his rants! He then threatened to call the police, which he did! They were just as dumbfounded as we were when they heard his outrageous story. It was only when the police were there that we finally found out his name, "Mick" & he was the owner!! How dare he treat customers this way! What was supposed to be a night out with friends was ruined by this man! Trust me when I say, I'm a registered nurse in a prominent Bucks County Hospital, my husband is a small business owner, our friend has an executive position at New Jersey's largest University...we intend to let as many people as we know about this outrageous experience!
Overall, our dinner experience was great! The four of us (2 adults and 2 children) enjoyed our appetizers, entrees, and desserts. Food was great and we enjoyed ourselves very much! It was very busy there (a Saturday night) so the noise level was a bit loud. The service was very good as far as taking our order, serving our food, etc. There was more than just the waitress who helped perform the many tasks. The waitress was nice but could have added a bit more to her service. She just lacked something. It was more like she was doing the bare minimum to do her job and earn her tip instead of going above and beyond. I recommend this restaurant. We will return (again), but I just hope we have a different waitress/waiter who can add something special to the dining experience.
Overall great experience. Good food, good service. We had a really enjoyable night. We will definitely go back. Everyone was very friendly. Open Table---- you guys were the ones who dropped the ball! I never received my email confirmation. So we went to the restaurant, not knowing if they had our reservation or not. Not knowing if we would get a table, or be turned away. Your bad!! Put a bad taste in my mouth!
I love the River Grill. It is my go to restaurant for many occasions. Reminds me of a New York Restaurant. The scallops are excellent. Can’t go wrong with any salad you select. Service is outstanding, and I like how the cook always makes the rounds to check in with customerss.
