River Grille Ratings and Reviews
As always, the food was excellent and exceptional.
Unfortunately, our waitress seemed confused throughout most of the meal. She walked away from the table after getting only two of the three drink orders. She wasn't friendly at all and questioned our my husband when he walked over to her to add a Caesar Salad to our order saying we had already ordered three appetizers. It was strange. The young man who delivered our plates to the table didn't smile and was not friendly.
We don't expect to be fawned over when dining but the interaction with both individuals was surprising and disappointing.
We hadn't been in a while and came for our anniversary with another couple also celebrating their anniversary. The back room was SO LOUD and there was a large party that even louder than the normal level of the room (open kitchen, wooden, floors, high ceilings) that we asked for our table to be moved. We couldn't talk to each other without yelling. The party left before another table became available so we stayed at our table. The staff was very accommodating and understanding. The food and service were excellent. I would return, but NEVER sit in the back room.
It was incredibly loud and we unfortunately were seated next to a group of six that were excessively loud. It made it very difficult to carry on a conversation. The service was excellent at the start of the meal and by the end was almost non-existent. Not our best dining out experience.
We recently visited for the first time and with a group of 11 people. The restaurant is a lot larger than I thought and they accomadated us well. As a matter of fact, there were several large groups eating in the same room and It didn't feel crowded at all. Our waitress was wonderful, handled all of our food questions well. She was knowledgeable about all the dishes. The food was superb!! I definitely recommend the lobster sliders (appetizer) and the Salmon main entree with Risotto and spinach. It was to die for!!! The food was so good we contemplated going back the next day!
There was a small hiccup at the end and it was due to no fault of the waitress or staff. We asked the bill be split up by each couple. Their computer system mixed up all the orders but we were able to fix it in the end. This had no bearing on my vote. They still get 5 stars in my book!! Can't wait to go back!
This is a restaurant for those who think the sign of fine dining is huge portion to get your money's worth. Or cocktails named "sex in a hot tub". While the servers were accommodating and professional, we found that the fish in the halibut special was overdone and one filet mignon that was ordered "rare" arrived closer to medium. On the plus side, the thick pork chop was done to perfection. As the dining room filled, it became harder and harder to hear each other at our table. Seems to appeal to college students. Some will like it, so we hesitate to say we would not recommend, but we did not.
The only downside to River Grille is the noise level, both inside and in the open-air room out front. They need to install some sound-deadening panels. The food is great and expertly prepared. Lobster Papardelle included plenty of tender lobster, perfectly done pasta and a tasty sauce that didn't overwhelm the lobster, wasn't salty and wasn't too rich. RG's salads and dressings are crisp, fresh and loaded with flavor -- even the basic salad I had. Drinks are good but a bit skimpy on the alcohol, and it was disappointing that they couldn't make two basics I asked for: a Mojito and a Moscow Mule. The restaurant's namesake cocktail is quite good. We go back regularly -- no place is perfect, and the food stands out!
Last minute decision to go to the River Grille and we were extremely pleased with the service and the good. Our dinners and appetizers were excellent! Only bad item was the coffee. That could be because it was later in the evening. But it was no issue telling the waitress and she was delightful! Definitely will return!!!
The meal was wonderful. We both ordered the T-bone special. The steaks were perfectly prepared and flavorful. The sides (lobster mashed potatoes, roast potatoes and grilled asparagus) were wonderful companions to the meat. The only minor issues to the meal were we were not told the cost of the special and the price for a draft beer was a bit higher than anticipated.
River Grille continues to have the best food and service in Easton. Latest trip was a send off dinner for my son leaving for college. The server was outstanding - knowledgeable, friendly, and timely. From the appetizers through dessert the food was perfectly prepared and delicious. I you haven't been to RG you are missing out.
The food was very good. The server was nice and attentive. The house balsamic dressing on the salad was delicious! I had the lobster roll....though it was not big chunks of lobster, it was quite good. My friend had the tilapia sandwich which she liked as well. I will return to this restaurant, especially for the mushroom ravioli!
First visit and our experience was overall very good. Food was excellent I had the salmon which was good, not the best I've had but respectable. Risotto was excellent and the service was outstanding. Only reason a didn't give it a five star overall was the noise level which was a bit much for us. Certainly would return.
We were out with neighbors and we hadn't seen them in a long time.. the meal was fantastic, but the noise level in the front area with windows was so noisy. We had such a hard time hearing our conversations. We have been there several times but never sat in that area.
Our dinner experience was good but not up to par with our past visits. The food was good but not great and the timing and service were way off (we received our salads right after our appetizers, took 15 minutes to receive the check, etc.). We love the River Grille so this likely won't be our last visit but we won't be rushing to get back either.
We were unaware when we made our reservations that it was Restaurant Week in Easton. However, we were pleasantly surprised by the significant number of choices on the River Grille menu! Each course was appropriately sized and delicious. Two of us ordered pizza (beware, they are very large) and ended up taking half of them home. In the process of wrapping one of the pizzas, someone dropped it. The waiter came to our table and profusely apologized and then told us they were making us another entire pizza as an apology! Afterward the manager came over and apologized again. Wow! It was a tiny thing but they went out of their way to make it right. We will be back!!
We split a couple orders of mussels for apps and they were great, as usual. Two of us had the ribeye off the menu. Cooked exactly as requested and perfectly seasoned. Amy had swordfish over linguini and loved it. Even the kids enjoyed their kids' plates. Unfortunately, no room for dessert this time.
Great food and service. The lobster sliders surpassed my expectations as I have had elsewhere and been disappointed. Also enjoyed the house made mozzarella and tomato starter. Very fresh ingredients. The tomatoes tasted as if they had just been picked out of the garden. The scallops and pasta dish was very well seasoned and the cowboy steak special was extremely tender and flavorful! The appetizer and entree portions are very generous! Decent selection of wines by the glass and some interesting summer cocktails as well.
We ate in the dining room which is a bit noisy because of acoustics, whereas the front section of the restaurant seemed quieter. Will try that area next visit. Glad we stumbled upon this place on Open Table.
