The food is amazing, best steak I’ve had in years, will definitely be back
Very good food and dining experiance, our waiter could have looked a little more happy! He looked very unfriendly not a smile was cracked through all of our dinner. We had the dinner for two, we took lots home😀
After reading a few not so great reviews we weren’t sure about booking, but ended up deciding to give it a try, before the comedy act we had tickets for on Saturday night. We pleasantly found the service and food to be excellent. Ben, our waiter, was very attentive and the food was very delicious. I would totally recommend the brisket and scallops. Both were prepared perfectly. A few of the reviews complained about the smell of cigarette smoke spoiling their meals, but we did not notice this at all in the restaurant and we are not smokers. All in all, we were very happy we decided to give The Sage a try and would not hesitate in booking again.
I had one of the best steaks of my life! Service was top notch! I will be back....
Waiter was very attentive at first but as he got more tables our service declined. Overall food was ok but not an exceptional food experience. It wasn’t bad but have had much better food at other higher end restaurants for sure. Might try it again and try a different selection. I had the Brussels sprouts and they were ok but came to the table like warm. I did mention just to make them aware. Beet salad was good but for the price point nothing exceptional. I think there needs to be some improvements to the menu.
We arrived with great expectations, were seated at a very nice quiet table in the back room and our waiter arrived promptly to take our drink and dinner orders. Both arrived in a reasonable time. The food was satisfactory but nothing outstanding considering that the prices were very high, as the restaurant began to fill service became nonexistent. We only saw our waiter as he ran around trying to keep up with Waiting and also busing many tables! Even though we had flagged him down and asked him for a dessert menu he brought us our bill instead, he then took our dessert order. We waited 25 min. for said dessert, he brought the bill with the dessert and we never saw him again so we had no chance to complain that the warm tart was ice cold and the fried donut on top was burnt! The restaurant was definitely understaffed which seemed to the root of most of our problems.
The lamb was a bit dry and tough. We were seated at the back of the restaurant and I could still smell the cigarette smoke which interfered with my taste buds.
The food was not that great
We were seated on arrival. Waited 15 mins for drink or to be taken. Waited another 15 mins for the drinks to arrive. We still haven't ordered our meal as of being there for 30 mins. Once we did order it was almost an hour before it arrived on the table. I had the 8oz steak asked for medium, got medium well closer to well done. My date ordered the pork chop and it was 75% fat.
Horrible service.Waited 45 minutes for meal.No drink service.Very poor
Awesome meal and service.
the 2 bartenders were awesome, friendly, and helpful
the hostess must have been having a bad night, not friendly or caring
our waiter was unfriendly, inattentive, overwhelmed and not very polite
the calamari was excellent. didn’t get to try the bread & butter because the waiter set it down then grabbed it away a few moments later from us without explanation and disappeared for 5 minutes
the cigarette smoke allowed in the open concept casino permeated everything & ruined our whole meal :( we should have walked out right at the start when we realized our mistake
The service was great considering how busy the restaurant was we got our good in good time. The taste was ok but can't say it was outstanding, good thing it was half price would not have been worth total value.
My wife has MS and its hard for her to walk, the women's washroom was to far.
Recommend having a washroom inside the restaurant.
Found the cigarette smell offensive
Calamari was good.
Ordered the lamb. Very strange with the huge stodgy onion rings. Carrot purée was tasteless .
Service not the best.
Our waiter really made this a memorable experience .Food was very good and portions were just right and the dessert was fantastic(our waiter recommended it to me)
The service was very slow and the waiter was not friendly, the food was not what would be expected at a fine dining restaurant. We had reservations for 6:30 and didn’t receive entree’s until around 8:30, apparently this is due to ordering appetizers. We did not leave the restaurant until almost 10 pm.
Tried Sage for my Husband’s birthday for the first time - was very impressed. We had the dinner for two and it was probably the best meal I’ve ever had at a restaurant , will definitely be returning.
Went to eat after another event as the restaurant we previously decided on closed early. Was pleasantly impressed with the food and quantities provided. We each tried multiple small plates and plenty of food was provided to each for to consider the works a meal. Did find the seasoning a bit on the salty side on a couple of the dishes, but in general was okay. A note though, the regular menu prices are a bit on the high side compared to other restaurants. They do have a promo with 1/2 price on all the food Sunday to Thursday which make this more of a deal. Definitely worth the try at the lower costs.
Plates tried and definitely recommended - crispy trout, lobster chowder, crab cake.
Plates tried and would be up to your personal tastes (felt seasoning was off, aka good, but not wow) - "Bear and the Flower" Baked Pork Meatballs, Prairie Macaroni Bake...meals were good, but seasoning was a bit off
Also, this is just off the casino which is a smoking environment. If there is an adversion to cigarette smoke you will notice it.
great attention to reservation requirements Excellent service . Well thought out items on the menu.
Get Edmonton River Cree on the list of locations.
Nothing between Toronto and Vancouver?? Really??
We found your food to be very over priced the service was not all that hot would not recommend it . My friend ordered a steak and it tasted like bear meat.
Friends outing & attend Trooper concert
This place is really changing and not for the better. It used to be our favourite for dinner and cocktails before a show. We will be rethinking where we go for dinner before a show at the venue from now on.
5 minutes before we received a glass of water. Server was pleasant but inexperienced. There were 6-7 couples at 4 top tables yet it seemed liked lots of 2 person tables in a quieter area.
Food was bland.
Appetizers came before cocktails. Appetizer (mussels) cold and no flavour. Dinner was blah not worth the price. Dessert was free because of the food mistakes, thanks but it was supposed to be a lava cake and there was no lava, cold in the middle and dry. I was really looking forward to dinner here and left disappointed. Not a restaurant worthy of fine dining.
This was the first time I took my mother to The Sage and she absolutly loved it the food was woderful the service was good I had the Macoroni and meat casserole and it was just perfect. Spicy but not overpowering. Mom's lamb was cooked to perfection. Only hint I would give make sure you are not seated under the AC unit
The only thing I did not like was I observed many of the servers giving females roses for Valentine’s Day n I didn’t receive one. If the restaurant was giving roses was it only to select women then maybe have a better process for handing the rose out so women who do t get one don’t feel isolated.
Great value for fabulous food, excellent steak and scallops
Wow what and amazing experience. Service and the steak all exceeded 100%
The steak is good, but the potatoes are outstanding.
The food and service was impeccable, and worth a return anytime. A bit noisy due to proximity to the casino floor, but not "shout over the noise" noisy.
Ben the waiter was funny and attentive; a great spot!
We went during the week and food is half price. For the price I paid I would say the food was worth the price. However if I had paid full price I would have felt slightly disappointed. The Tenderloin is the best thing on the menu.
Nice menu, food was great, service exceptional. We celebrated family birthdays and were treated to a nice sparkler dessert. My only negative comment is this fine dining is located adjacent to the casinos smoking section and it wafts into the restaurant. This is uncomfortable and very noticeable especially for non smokers.
Food was great! Service was great!
The service was ok. We arrived right before a show began and the waiter was super bus, which I understand. After many of tables left to attend the show it was only ourselves and 2 other tables. I would have expected much better service being one of the only tables in the restaurant.
As for the food 3 out of 4 of our dishes we bad! I'm not one to normally complain but damn, they were not good! We had the crab cake and calamari to start. The crab cake was a strange cylinder of not warm, but not cold crab. I was actually unsure if it just heated poorly? It tasted alright but not exactly what I was expecting for a crab cake. The calamari was good at first but once you got to the bottom of the dish there was at least 2 tablespoons of oil...it was like they forgot to drain it after taking it out of the fryer. My husband had the brisket and it was so fatty! He had to even spit a portion of it out, and presentation was sad, it could have used something fresh on the plate. I got the smokers basket and it was good, nothing amazing that I would return for, but OK. Even the free dessert we got, which was a lava cake for my husbands birthday was super sweet and did not "flow" like a lava cake once it was opened.
All in all the location is great. We stayed at the hotel in the resort, went to dinner at Sage, and then gambled for the evening, that is what made the night special. I wish dinner had been better and it would have been a home run evening.
We had excellent service. I was a little disappointed in the meat dishes. I felt that our plates were kept warm for a lengthy amount of time causing our meat to be over done. I would try again and voice my concern if needed. Has been a favorite for since they opened.
food was just ok, way over priced, portions were extremely large, and the smell of cigarette smoke was over baring.
The food was good. The service wasn't as good as we hoped. The waiter wasn't very friendly and didn't check at anytime during the meal if all was ok. We weren't offered coffee or dessert but had to ask for coffee and if there was a dessert menu.
Although we know that there is smoking allowed in the casino area we assumed that the resturant would be better ventilated, but we found that the odor of cigarette smoke was pervasive in the restaurant as well as the rest of the casino. It had a negative impact on our dining experience.
This was a xmas gift from our children. I found the waiter attentive. Music was AC/DC in a formal dining restaurant.??? The menu was very limited. $48.00 for Brisket ....outrageous.
The daily special apparently was gone in the first few hours. I think if you are going to price point as a high end restaurant that all aspects have to follow. This was not a fine dining experience but the bill sure was.
It was a venue menu or so the server told us. We enjoyed the show but were so disappointed in the Sage restaurant.
Our waiter Uday treated us so well! The food was wonderful, and the ambience was lovely.
