Omelette station was clean and vegetable selection was vast. Staff kept the coffee flowing. Carving station had dry meat and our table had a wicked wobble...but overall was good experience.
This is not the River City Brewing Co I remember. It looks and feels old and tired. The food was mediocre. The server forgot a soup. With so many more delightful places available, I will not return.
Food was pretty good, service was excellent, atmosphere is nice..
Highly recommend the beer flights! The food was a little on the expensive size but I was pleasantly surprised at the portion size. The only complaint was from one of my guests that the Alfredo Chicken did not have a lot of flavor but this person tends to be picky anyways so take that with a grain of salt. Service was on point and the view of the river was really nice.
Food was only warm and server not very friendly
The view was great but the food was only mediocre. Nothing special for the price
We booked a “high top” to be able to watch bowl games while we ate. When we arrived the bar was full and they said they do not reserve high tops even though I showed them my reservation and there was one high top with a reserved sign on it. They seated us in a table in the dining room where we were unable to watch any game. The service was slow as the few wait staff were also busing the tables. Many of the things listed on the web site were not on the menu at the restaurant.
Server was slow and didn’t know much about a lot. 30 minutes to get our drinks. It was a slow night overall. Lots of empty tables. Server didn’t know the prices of things or how substitutions worked or happy hour. Bus guy was awesome. The dude that filled our waters was better than our actual server. Overall. Not a bad experience. Food was worth the $$$ but the service definitely wasn’t.
Not what I expected. Very outdated. Food was meh.
Very relaxed for a Friday evening. The food was fantastic and the staff was very friendly.
Fantastic brunch buffet on Sunday!
Dinner was WONDERFUL. They were beyond accommodating and were so pleasant. Would definitely go again
We had gone last year to watch the boat parade and fireworks and very much enjoyed the food. This year was not as good and I didn't feel the value was there as it was last year. I ordered a filet and it came out looking like a grilled hamburger. The calamari didn't have alot of flavor and no sauce served with it. Overall it was a good time with friends but for the amount of money I spent it didn't come through.
Food was ok, drinks were very good, view was excellent.
First time there . . . sat outside on a gorgeous day . . . can't ever beat sitting by the water!
Heidi was our server and she was very attentive . . . food was great. Give it a try!
Visiting Jax after being away for a couple years. We always loved Sunday brunch so it was natural to go on this occasion. It was disappointing, to say the least. Even the people with us that had never been there kept asking us where the rest of the food was and why would anyone pay almost $23 for what was there. When other restaurants are stepping it up to get business, it seems like River City has decided that they can relax and get complacent. Will be looking for another brunch location for next visit
Great service & food was good for the price. Big servings
We were enjoying a Sunday outing with family. The food, staff and over all visit was amazing. We will tell a friend and we will return. Keep up the good work!
Amazing food, awesome service and the view was great!!
This is a very nice restaurant, right on the river. Very nice views while we dined. The service was very good. My wife got the shrimp and "purple" grits, delicious! I ordered from the fixed price menu: huge Caesar salad, Salmon with mango salsa, and Key Lime pie for dessert, $25. We also bought a growler of the Kentucky Bourbon barrel stout beer.
Great food and service
They have fallen off from what they use to be. The options for brunch I wouldn’t serve to my dog if I had one. It was pretty bad, sad to say.
Limited choices on the buffet, but, for the money, the bottomless mimosas and the view, a great value. The bread pudding keeps me coming back, even there is no bourbon sauce. I make due with a shot of wild turkey and whipped cream!
I thought there would be more FL/GA game activity as in the past years ago. We had a reservation in the dining room but there were not TVs so asked the hostess to be seated in the bar so we could watch the game. The beers were very good and the food was too. The fish and chips were excellent.
Food, service and ambience excellent!
Resturant was easy to get to with easier parking for such a nice location
Ladies night out. Wish they extended happy hour to the dining room. It had a great view of Jacksonville!
The barbeque chicken being chicken fingers was a little disappointing, but they had a wonderful roast on the carving table, the grits are made with heavy cream (delightful) and collard greens! Love the bottomless mimosas, bloody marys or poinsettias!
Great view, service, food and drink! If you haven’t been, you need to go and take in the view of the Jax skyline after dark. Fantastic experience.
* The view was terrific of course
* The server was very good also.
* The chocolate pie was to die for
* The Prime Rib was a little tough, but the flavor was good
* Salmon was good, vegetables were good, pecan pie was "meh"
* The wine was not very good. I ordered a particular type of wine at $9 per glass that I am very familiar with from other restaurants, but was served a very inferior wine instead. I did not say anything because I don't like to upset or annoy people that are serving me. I don't know if it was the bartender, the server or the manager who made that bad decision. I will not be ordering any upgraded wine there again, I'll stick with the house wine since I'm pretty sure that is what I was served anyway.
* There was a very loud screaming child the entire hour we were there. That made it very, very unpleasant.
* Over all, the view, the server and the chocolate pie saved the experience for me.
As always the food was very good & service outstanding. Ordered a piece of Key Lime pie to go! Got home & opened the box to see a sliver 1" serving for $8. Total RIP off!!!
I made a reservation for 7:00 PM ordered my food at 7:22 Pm. The food finally arrived after bringing several loafs of bread and apologizing at 9:40 PM. The food was burnt, served to the wrong people at the table (My med rare steak was given to my husbands work partner that asked for Med well /Different Sides). At this point we asked for the check and was told even though we are not going to eat or take the food he will discount our check 75% which is complete BS when all we did was drink a bottle of wine (Which I had to pay full price for) and several pieces of bread...$80 for a bottle of wine and 3 hours of wasting my time on my anniversary. I will dine here again!!!!
Family get together-including a 2-yr old. Staff was attentive especially Holly. Food was up to usual good standard. Love having a window seat with river view.
Food was excellent as usual and Rachel, our server, was outstanding so attentive. She was able to explain things and answer any questions. Glasses were never empty and she checked often to see if we needed anything. Highly recommend.
The entire evening was amazing!!!! The food, the view, the service was excellent!! Will definitely be returning!
I dont believe it was reservation worthy. I had a hair in my Cesar salad. It was very hot, me and my husband both were sweating. We ask our waiter to turn the lower level fans on, which he did, but someone had turned them off about 5 mins later. We asked the receptionist to turn them back on. She disappeared without turning the fans on. We waited for our waiter to come back around to us and asked again for the fans to be turned on, which he did again. Unfortunately by that time we were ready to go. I dont believe our bill was worth what was spent by far.
Quality to cost ratio is well off. Jambalaya was recommended but was so tomato paste thick you couldn't taste the Shrimp. The sauce on the Mahi special was way too sweet!! Filet was over cooked from MR to Med. Too long to take to return. Server was good.
Yes, I will be booking another date soon for September 26 and another one in January for a birthday surprise.
It was a good experience as usual, we will definitely be going back.
