Is always a nice place to go. The view is a gift and the extraordinary kitchen.
This time we had a delicious waygou tartar, foie grass, lobster, steak, a good Bordeaux wine and a glass of champagne. Everything was perfect.
Beautiful place for a special dinner. Great place to celebrate my 50th Birthday!
Amazing! It’s worth every minute! Service, ambient and overall, the views!
50th Wedding Anniversary. Would have thought for the amount of money we spent that we would have been offered a complimentary glass of champagne or proseco. But no!! Disappointing.
A great experience in a magic location. The view on Manhattan is breathless. All the staff was nice and the food very good... A special place for a special occasion
Wonderful experience, wonderful food and wonderful service. Very enjoyable.
Beautiful setting and delicious food!
Atmosphere and view were superb! The food was delicious and did not disappoint at any course!!! The staff was helpful, nice and attentive!!! A view of Manhattan and Brooklyn Bridge, when snowing, and quality of food, well worth the price!!
Magical. Reserved a table for our anniversary. We choose the six course option and it was fabulous. Combine this with our window table viewing out at the Brooklyn Bridge and the Manhattan skyline with a light snow falling and you can understand why it was a wonderful dinner. The service by Terry and Ricardo and the rest of the staff was superb. When I go to the River Cafe I feel like I am on vacation. This evening was no exception.
Superb staff that is professional, friendly and inviting. The classy, romantic ambiance is matched only by its location. Food is consistent year after year as it is delicious! One of our favorite "go-to" places in NY!
My fifth trip to The River Cafe over the past 15 years. A magical night watching snow fall while walking up to the restaurant and from our window table. I was the only one at a table of Texans who had been to TRC before. The ambiance and service were unparalleled, as always. Our dinners were excellent, except for my wife who had a tiny lobster, maybe 3-4 ounces. It was the smallest lobster I have ever seen served. She was very disappointed. Kind of difficult to justify paying $160 prefix price for a tiny lobster tail entree. I had a NY Strip, excellent and easily 16 ounces. The tiny lobster suffered in comparison. Everything else was excellent tasting, but small portion size. I don't recall the small portions in the past. Our dinner for 4 with tip was $900.00. You are definitely paying for great ambiance at The River Cafe.
We haven't been back since the post-Sandy reopening, although it was a favorite prior to the storm. It has maintained it's elegance, wonderful food and excellent and attentive service. A wonderful room with of course a view.
Probably one of the best restaurants in New York City And the country and with one of the best views. The all inclusive food tasting and wine tasting menu was unforgettable. The people that work there are at the top of their craft and make it all the more memorable. If you want the best this is it.
Elegant restaurant with incredible views of lower Manhattan matched only by the food and service. White jacket service. Lamp lite tables with bouquets of fresh flowers.
An pre fixe menu with multiple options of extremely well preprepared food. Extensive wine list with a expert sommelier that recommended a bottle of wine that was matched perfectly within or price point.
We were celebrating a special occasion but feel that this restaurant treats every guest as if they are celebrating something special.
Dining at the River Cafe was an experience that we will be bragging to friends about for months.
Fantastic curb appeal, arriving at night to tree lights and the Manhattan skyline. Arrived at our table, only to feel like we were intruding on the next table’s date - very close together. My husband kept getting bumped by passing waiters serving the table behind too. After 15 minutes of that, I moved the table myself to give him more space - much to the waiter’s disapproval. However, the Maitre d’ moved us straight away, and our second seating option was much better. Food is amazing. Cocktails were great (French 77 is a must) and view is superb, but I will always remember the seating debacle - which is a shame.
Amazing experience at a Mitchelin Star Restaurant. Great menu and setting. Highly recommended but be prepared for an expensive evening (Even though we thought it was worth it)
You feel special just pulling into the driveway. The view is always spectacular, and the food & service are equally great. Still one of NYC's treasures.
Super romantic! It felt like being on a cruise.
Most wonderful restaurant with service and food second to none. Definitely will dine again when back in New York.
