   Incredible dining experience last night at the River Cafe. Ambiance is incredible - we were fortunate to capture sunset from our seats. The service was impeccable. The sommelier assisted us with a perfect wine pairing. Our favorites from the meal were the oyster appetizer, sea bass, lamb chop, and lemon soufflé. We will absolutely be back - this was one of our top five meals ever in NYC, especially at this price point.

   We’ve been there a few times. Always a wonderful experience. The staff is friendly and extremely polite. Eat anything you feel like and you won’t regret it, food is amazing! And the view of NY skyline is one of the best you can get.

   As usual, ambience and service are outstanding. We found the food to be a bit hit or miss however. Lobster entrée, lemon glazed oysters were outstanding. As is customary with the River Café, the amuse Bouches were generous, wonderful and creative. I found the sea bass to be fine but uninspiring as the lobster reduction sauce was less impactful than I had hoped. The mixed seafood appetizer seemed like something I could get almost anywhere though the presentation was, of course splendid. Desserts - lemon, soufflé, and chevre cheesecake - were wonderful. The meal was excellent all around, but when I come to this restaurant, I expect to be impressed in the extreme with virtually all - not just some of the courses.

    River Cafe is not a good buy for food, but if you dont mind the price for what you get, you will make it up by the view, the elegance and their outstanding service. From the Maitre d' to the pianist, to the sous maire d's to the waiters and bus-persons, the place has to be equal to 3 star Michelin restaurants in France. Every person on their staff knew everything about all of the dishes served. You will not find better service anywhere, in my humble opinion. Whoever is running that place deserves a medal for the service. At $195 prix-fixe dinner, the choice was excellent but priced for tourists, not Brooklynites. I guess there are enough tourists to fill the place every night. Maybe there should be a discount for locals in the off hours, it there are any. Lorenzo

    As always River Cafe was perfect! We got there early and they placed us at the perfect table along the window. Service was impeccable. Amanda, the sommelier was wonderful and guided us to the perfect wines. They made our anniversary and birthday celebrations memorable.

    Fair wait for table, wait for menu, then wait to place order. Food was way over priced for what it was. Our second time going to the river cafe and the intervening years has not improved it. The 1st time several years ago our visit was so wonderful, so this time was a great disappointment

    This is the most exquisite dining experience in New York. If you are a foodie and have not been you need to make a reservation. Everything from the view of lower Manhattan and the Brooklyn Bridge to the flowers when you walk through the lobby has been executed to mirror the presentation and taste of every course you will have. The dinner is a three course pre-fixe and the chef will also give an additional item to taste at his discretion. We ordered the east coast oysters my first time having an oyster and I know I will not even try to have it somewhere else, amazing. Crab, rabbit, lobster, to name a few of what we had. Of course for dessert i had to have the Brooklyn bridge a specialty of the River Cafe-yes it resembles the bridge, chocolate mousse one of my favorites cant not get it, but there is also a soufflé on the menu if you are a fan. It is worth the trip, the expense and the calories. Thank you to the staff for making it another special evening. We will be back.
