Great restaurant. A bit on the pricey side but great experience.
As usual, it was raining, but as usual, an outstanding experience, as it has been over the past 40 years. I was delighted to enjoy dinner with a friend, both of us venturing out after vaccinations. We both marveled, as an immigrant, and an innocent girl from Seattle, at our good fortune to be able to sit in such a lovely atmosphere to enjoy the views of lower Manhattan and Lady Liberty. The food and service never fail, and the presentations always make me smile. Special.
Went with my husband for our second wedding anniversary and everything was beautiful, the attentions were perfect, food was amazing too and the view the Best!
I went there to celebrate my 24 year anniversary. The ambiance was romantic. I am gluten free and they made great accommodations to provide me options. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Second time being here and was not disappointed l. Food and service is always great.
Simply AMAZING!!! Gorgeous garden breathtaking views and outstanding food and service
Very beautiful restaurant no doubt about it the view is amazing only downside but not a big deal it the set price to dine $150 per person which they will be more flex I guess you pay for the view and 5 ⭐ service. Food was amazing also no doubt about it. Really had a good time with my wife.
Beautiful Place, amazing food!
Excelente atención de parte de su personal 🥰y la comida deliciosa
Post vaccine dinner. Beautiful place, great service.Nice menu with substantial cost: good, not brilliant. But what a view!
Beautiful setting; lovely service; spectacular food. My only complaint is that there are only four courses and one is an amuse bouche and one is a dessert, and the appetizer (fois gras) was very small. It's not much food for $175pp plus tax/tip/drinks. I don't eat much and I was barely full.
Wonderful Easter dinner. Great service from start to finish.
We celebrated a wedding anniversary
Lovely Easter dinner and birthday celebration. So happy it is back open.
The restaurant is iconic from any perspective. Beyond Michelin level food, the view, the ambience and the service is a unique world class experience. This is a must if you visit New York and I highly recommend it.
Outstanding! River Cafe has always held a special place in our hearts and it has never let us down
Great dinner, great service until the bill came when they added $94 for someone else's bottle of wine. Both charges are still pending on my credit card. Scary, I often don't check the bill! If it happens here???
Very bridge and tunnel clientele
After a long 500$+ dinner I give it a disappointed meh 🤷🏻♀️
This is why Manhattanites never leave the island.
We had an enchanting night. Service was impeccable...from the adorable stool for my wife's purse when we first arrived to the presentation from sommelier Jake about our madeira tasting. Couldn't have asked for anything more. Bravo!
One of the best meals ever. Fantastic all around.
One of the best dinners I’ve had in NYC. The service and food was excellent and it’s always nice sitting by the water :)
It was my mother’s birthday and they really treated us well. She was thrilled. My son now wants to go for his birthday. An overall amazing experience.
The view was memorable
The River Cafe is truly a magical place in the view, food and quality of service. In the middle of a very difficult time (Pandemic) the team at the river cafe made an evening truly romantic...
Always a wonderful experience at the River Cafe. It's my favorite restaurant!!!
The restaurant was practically empty with no one sitting by the windows when we arrived. We asked for a window seat and the Matre de rudely told us window seats are for their regular customers. After being seated 2 rows behind they were practically chasing us out of there. Asked us 4 times after we ate our dessert whether we were done. Never been treated so rudely at restaurants before and paid $460 for 2 people. Ruined my best friend’s birthday dinner. They need to take some hospitality classes.
Always an extraordinary experience!
Beautiful restaurant, view and atmosphere! Although dresscode is mandatory and the atmosphere is chique, it doesn’t feel formal. An absolute NYC must!
Wonderful time at River Cafe celebrating our anniversary. Food and service is always exceptional. Appreciative of the vegetarian menu and the fabulous brooklyn bridge and strawberry soufflé desert.
Beautiful venue; excellent food and service. Perfect to celebrate special occasions.
The business hour starts 5:00pm, I was there around 4:30pm and tried to ask whether the valet parking available or not. The greeting waiter saw me was standing outside, but ignored me for couple minutes. He was sitting there and just swiping his phone. Although it was not business hour, service should be at the same level, respect customers at all time no matter it is your duty or not. The rude attitude definitely ruined the whole experience.
Love this place. Would definitely visit again!!!!!
One of the best meals I've ever experienced in a setting with incredible views of the Brooklyn Bridge and NYC skyline.
I surprised my husband for our 1st year Anniversary and brought him to The River Cafe! It was just MAGICAL. The ambience was romantic and the staff was very welcoming and pleasant. The view and the food were phenomenal. Highly recommended. We will definitely come back here!!
Best food I've ever eaten. The experience of taste combined with the views and live piano made this dining experience one i will cherish forever.
We went to celebrate our wedding anniversary, and it also was the first day that they reopened . The restaurant is very pretty ,the view is superb. Was a bit concerned as place was really full ,and tables quite close to each other, not even anywhere near the 35 % occupancy allowed in nyc, perhaps more like 80 % full . Luckily ,me and my spouse are vaccinated ,so after the first shock to see so many people, we did not pay it much mind .
The food was quite good ,no complaints, but I do not think people come here for a amazing culinary experience ,more for the view and ambiance of an old tradition of a formal setting.
I had the shrimp and the lamb, and he the octopus and salmon ,both well prepared and was plenty of food .
It is quite old fashioned , the strictness of putting on a suit jacket ,the fake flowers that are on tables and inside the place.I was given a cheap polyester jacket ,even though I was in a very expensive Yohji Yamamoto cashmere cardigan with lapels. There are also, no vegetarian or vegan choices ,which is dated .Saw a couple stumped when they realized there was no choice, so they had risotto that was suggested by the waiter, that kitchen could make . I personally felt for them as that is all they had for the prix fix price.
service is very good , everyone was super polite and efficient .
I would go back , I am sure in the summer ,it would be amazing .Perhaps for brunch or lunch , when the archaic requirement of a jacket is not the most important factor to them .
Greatest place for dinner in the city
Lovely place, great view, good food, adequate service, pricey.
Great food and view
